Just a great amp tech. I’m beyond satisfied and my amp has never sounded better. Save up cash and get your amp diagnosed and fixed here. No B.S., no work around, no band-aid fixes, Phil here is the real deal. Phil is more than knowledgeable, he is a professional and he will give you nothing but quality work. Brought in my Fender Blues Jr., got my amp back sounding fantastic. I even asked Phil to upgrade the tubes, and the amp became even better. Highly recommend, this is the only guy I will trust with my equipment from now on.

Rude as sh*t, I called to see about getting a repair expecting someone that's going to be helpful. Far from it, acted like a kid that didn't get what he wanted. I'm always trying to be positive, but with just a little time talking to this guy you know he's just trying to steal your cash! But what do you expect for a guy that works out of his house.

*STAY AWAY*I brought my amp to Phil to get modded. He also suggested changing the screen resistors and power tubes, which I agreed to. After 2 months of not hearing anything, Phil told me there was a problem with the amp and it had low output. I was patient with him and allowed him to take his time to fix it. After about another 2 months, he stated that he "could not help me" and to come to pick up the amp. He was intentionally vague about this whole interaction to obviously avoid any admission of fault. After taking it to a competent tech, I found out that the output transformer is blown and will cost me at least $400 to fix.I brought him a working amp, and he gave me back a broken amp with no explanation. Throughout the entire time of working with him, Phil was aggressive, abrasive, and condescending in his communication. I was nothing less than professional and patient with him. He clearly lacks integrity and does not own his mistakes. His character and morals are reflected in his communication.I would strongly advise against using Phil's services. He is not competent, and he is not trustworthy. If you care about your amp, take it somewhere else. I can bet any response he gives to this will be an obvious shift of blame onto anything but himself.

Did some searching before calling AAR, after a short chat I knew Phil was who I wanted to work on my marshal head. Cleared up the issue and sounds good as new! Plus just a nice guy. Enjoyed just talking to him, if not for having to go to work, woulda hung out longer. Highly recommend him if you want it fixed right. Thanks again Phil.

There is no safer more reputable place to bring your valued amplifier than to Phil. He takes no shortcuts and does things the right way all of the time. I have four completed projects as proof. Well done!!

Phil did a great job of working on an old obscure Fender amp that I own. Not only did he get it back to good working order but he also was speedy with his work, extremely knowledgable, and communicative. His honesty on what absolutely needed to be done, should be done, and didn't need attention was appreciated. I travel through Las Vegas for work sometimes and to save me from having to ship the amp, Phil was understanding and flexible with my travel situation. I would take an amplifier to Phil any day of the week with the confidence that it was in good hands. Thanks Phil!

Musicians!!! Put the phone number of AMPMEDIC AMP REPAIR into your phone or your wallet. If your amp fails call Phil. When you play music for a living a non working amp can be a disaster. If it's a new or old tube amp Phil can fix it. If it is a solid state amp , like mine, he will ask you some questions. When you go to a good doctor you will be ask about your symptoms to determine the treatment. Phil will listen to you about your amp's symptoms and determine if they are something he wants to tackle. Fortunately Phil decided to tackle mine. I had my amp back in a couple of days working better than new. Whether you are an amateur or a pro musician you understand expertise. If you have an amp problem call a pro. Call Phil. BOB B.

Phil offers 3 things: the best tech work in town for your amp, the cold hard truth about your amp, and a sense of humor about your amp. If you’re like some other reviewers here and can’t handle all 3 of those at once, go to Guitar Center and save yourself the tears. Show up on time with your amp and your money and Phil will make it better. It’s that simple. In case anyone cares, last year Phil fixed up my crackly old poorly modded noisy as heck Orange OR120 to sparkling condition. Tube socket replacements, humbucking supply rewire, recap, biasing, mod wiring extension, bent board replacement, brand new tubes, and full cleaning & testing with photo documentation and in person walk through. Obviously it was worth every penny. I am about to bring some more high wattage 70s tube amps to Phil again along with a lower wattage one from the 60s and I don’t need a clown car drive by review to be the first thing I see on Google when I look up the address, so this better go through.

Sooo i call, and I get the owner I'm assuming, we had a bad connection in guessing don't know why because all my previous calls while I was comparing all came in clear! Then I Notice hes becoming annoyed or impatient because I'm trying to figure out if my amplifier was A Mini Mega or Mega Mini, nevertheless if you look it up on the Internet it'll pop up cause I just did so either way, after that, I'm hearing him become impatient I just hung up , RED FLAG!!!

I can't recommend Phil highly enough. Absolute top-notch knowledge, service, and support.I struggled for over a year to find someone who would service the tube amp/pre-amp from an early 1960’s console stereo that's been silently taking up space in my living room. Phil saved the day and my stereo. I am ecstatic to say the console is no longer silent, but instead loudly and proudly taking up that space!Throughout the entire process Phil kept in contact; sending progress updates, photos, and extremely in-depth descriptions of everything modified/repaired/replaced. He answered any and all questions/concerns I had before, during, and after the restoration was complete. He treated and prescribed service suggestions as if it the amp was his own, like he truly wanted to bring out the potential quality of the item, not just fix it and move onto the next repair... this was sincerely appreciated!Phil is a super stand-up dude - very HONEST and matter of fact with responses, and doesn't sugar-coat anything, which was a relief to me, tbh. He won't try and upsell unnecessary repairs, his prices are fair, and his work is clean and of high quality.

I asked Phil to look at a Marshall jcm 900 sl-x that I purchased used online. He took it in and emailed pics of a previous repair and recommended replacing aged components. He completed the work and emailed pics of the repaired repair and replaced components. Phil is a straight shooter. I've been playing over 40 years and know enough to know the basics of tube amplification. Phil can open an amp and look at it, and determine issues because he understands the theory behind tube amps. He is not a monkey see monkey do amp tech. If you want quick, or you want cheap, go to Guitar Center and roll the dice. I'll only let Phil open my classic Marshalls.

Had my amp for 4 months never looked at it. Zero communication. When I finally called him he said I was not a big enough customer to warrant his grace a waste of time and fuel. Looser working out of his garage

I have an almost 30 year old Crate 70W Celestion guitar amp that died (again, 3x). Couldn't get 2 other companies/individuals that repair amplifiers to fix mine (1-couldn't locate a transformer, 2nd- permanently closed it seems), so I found Ampmedic and filled out a form on his website. Phillip got back to me the next day. Explained the issue and arranged to bring it to him for diagnosis leaving a bench fee $80. He got back to me two weeks later with a detailed update and pictures. Was able to get working. Picked up my amp and he went over exactly what was wrong and explained in good detail. Wasn't cheap but definitely worth the repair cost as it is working great now. He knows his stuff and is really honest. I recommend him and will work with him again if needed.

I wanted a retubing of my Marshall 40w combo. There wasn't anything broken but wanted to change the sound a bit.I found Phil to be a genuine and sincere person in wanting to bring out all the amplifiers potential and capabilities in sound production. I really appreciated that and if I need his services in the future I will go to him again. He knows his stuff and does good work.
