Had a great experience at CCCU today! Cerina was training a new hire, Yesenia. Even during training, the transaction was very quick and I had a great time laughing with both. It's a hot summer day so I was miserable walking in but I left with a smile and a lollipop.

Enjoyable place to do your banking. It's a credit union so you make more money on your money there. It's open to anyone who lives in Clark County Nevada. I'd recommend it go there see for yourself.

I don't know how they rate their service but I give the whole experience an F. I'll just use my credit union account I opened 30 years ago, even though it's in michigan. I wanted to use another bank closer to home but these folks seem pretty inept. My first and only time I have to wait forever to see a banker, then they won't simple questions and then they either lie or don't know their own procedures, and when I try to clarify by calling customer service, I'm just put on hold.
What's the problem with copying somebody's drivers license? Your license contains a lot of private info that the bank or whoever doesn't need so they're stealing your info without your permission and often you won't even know it. Also with a copy of your DL, it's relatively easy for someone to create a fake DL using your info. Once it's out on the web, there's no way to stop it or trace where the info came from. So even if this credit union has good intentions they're stealing your info and then they're under no obligation to disclose what they do with the info or how they protect it. They'll make it sound like it's a banking regulation they're required to collect but it's not, and it even says so on their website.
Wow, it's a yes or no answer. It's very simple. "Do you copy and save my driver's license if I open a new account?" That's what I asked the teller. Their website doesn't say I have to share my DL. It says I can use a passport or some other document on their list but the first thing they insisted on when I was applying for an account was my driver's license. So the answer is yes, right. Yes, no, maybe.
I decided to go into this dinky branch in henderson and check it out. Simple, right. I get in line and there's just this one guy in front but it took over 10 mins standing around just to get up to the counter. I won't comment on that but the service was far from prompt and it wasn't because they were understaffed. I was expecting a simple answer and then when I asked the question this teller kept babbling on about their procedures and not asking my question so I kept trying to rephrase. I think I clearly told her that I didn't want my DL copied and I thought she said a copy wasn't required and then she escorted me off into this other room where now I'm seated in front of some videochat with some other woman, who knows where, and she starts off by telling me that they need to scan (copy) my DL. Huh? I just spent 20 mins explaining that wasn't acceptable. Communication: F
btw, their website gives different instructions so I tried calling their customer service number but gave up after being put on hold forever. Even more frustrating, I have a 'real' id which is still a real thing. It's a special DL you get after going to the dmv and submitting the right paperwork. So for verification, that's all they need but they don't need a copy of my DL. Anyway, called twice to customer service and then put on hold for several mins until I gave up. service: F
