The museum is beautiful. The exhibits their sound effects in some of them. You can go outside after you're done touring inside. Walk around the grounds, the 25 acre property and going in houses outside the wedding chapel and go in and tour them and go in the house that someone lived in and there's mannequins in the house like the real people that lived in them. You can sit outside and look at the house's. I bought a book. It was so nice. It was only $19. It's called Las Vegas then and now I took pictures inside the Indians founded Las Vegas. that there's Indian exhibits in there. There's this one other really pretty girl who's in a beauty pageant exhibit. She's from Las Vegas born and raised and you see all her crowns and trophies in this miss nevada USA beauty pageant. Beauty pageant crowns top.

Wonderful place. Kids had a great time as did my husband and myself. A lot of history. I would give a ten if I could. It cost $2 for adults and $1 for kids and seniors. It has the living quarters from the 1900's. Highly recommend.

Super cool experience. The museum itself is very interesting and has a lot of old Vegas artifacts. The preserved homes also are extremely interesting and the chapel and the print shop; it's just very well done. They have a great walk outside and old railroad cars that you can go into and they're gift shop has many items that are interesting and affordable. I went there with my son who will soon be 25 and we've been going there probably over 20 years! The lady in the gift shop was extremely nice to us and we've never had about experience here. It is a wonderful place to go during Christmas time but really any time of the year is fabulous!

A quaint local museum. I can't believe it took me so long to visit. A nice collection of artifacts and history of the county. The historical homes are fun to visit. A nice mixture of facts (text) and outdoor, so works well for kids. The small price ($1/children and $2/adults) is so minimal, you can visit for a hour or two and feel like it was well worth the time. They had a fun scavenger hunt for kids to help direct them. They don't have to finish the whole thing, but there are not only items to cross off but also questions to answer, so levels of challenge.

We really enjoy the museum and touring the vintage homes that have been moved to the site. The museum recently had a two day Christmas event where all the houses are decorated. The Green Valley HS choir performed some awesome Christmas carols and, of course, free hot chocolate and Santa ?. We appreciate the work that goes into making this a fun event for the whole family.

Update - another family get-together and another trip the Clark County Museum. The grounds and period houses were decorated time period appropriately. Always a great place to visit.A great place to spend a few hours, and admission is only $2 or $1 for seniors and kids. Several relocated homes from different decades to go through, an old print shop, railroad depot, etc. Even younger kids enjoy it.

I am a lover of museums, American history, and items of antiquity. So I really enjoyed visiting on Monday. The general admission fee is only $2, and it is worth every penny. They also accept donations in addition to the admission fee. The main building has several exhibits about Clark County including the natural wildlife, the history of McCarran Airport, and the founding of Las Vegas.Outside the building, there is a path lined with houses and buildings. Some are replicas, but many are original buildings saved from demolition, restored, and turned into exhibits for the museum as models of how people lived back in the era of time the houses were built. There are also several trains and a caboose, and a small event area for small performances and presentations.Because the majority of the museum's exhibits are outdoors, it is recommended that you dress appropriately for the weather. It was very cool, with a slight breeze on the day, so I wore a windbreaker that day, and I am glad I did it.The main building does have a small gift shop that sells post cards, minerals, toys, jewelry, and books about the history of Clark County, and the state of Nevada. Be advised that the museum only has one set of public restrooms (that I am aware of) which are located in the main building. They do not have a snack bar, nor do they allow food or drink in the main building, or the exhibit buildings. All in all, if you are a lover of American History, if you want to learn more about the history of Clark County, or you want a fun, inexpensive, educational day for the family, then be sure to check out the Clark County Musuem!

A hidden gem in the desert! This I'd a fantastic little museum. Make sure to hit the village side when it's cooler, and go through the inside museum when it heats up. Such a nice use of a day!

Great place! Loved the exhibits, counter lady was very nice and friendly. Nice place to walk around and see adorable homes and really cool historical items. I how ever and my friend would like to start a petition to remove the creepy Mannequins from the town houses, very un settling. Thank you for making a fun learning experience available! Keep up the good work!

I love history museums. They have it set up so there's different houses to see. I understand not wanting to damage the house but blocking off a whole section and then adding a description just made me more curious about it. That's about the only thing I didn't like about it. Oh and the ghost town needed more to it or more information about it. Overall me and my daughter had a good time. She did the scavenger hunt. Got to learn about the desert and mining and gambling and people getting married.

This is a wonderful place! I love it and have been many times. The main museum has great artifacts from Nevada and cities from Clark County , last time I was there( it’s been awhile) they had some memorial items from the 2017 Mandolin Bay shootings in which a total of 61 people lost their lives. I don’t know if that is still out. But they have Native American relics , all kinds of interesting things. Also on the property they have several houses that are decorated in different eras, clothing, furniture, decor, cars, everything! The houses are my favorite part. There is also a lovely little chapel on the grounds that is very quiet and serene. There are benches and shade along all of the paths. There is also a first rate gift shop that has an assortment for all ages. I think I’ve talked myself into another visit, very soon !

This indoor/ outdoor museum was great for toddlers. They enjoyed walking through the main interpretive center and were especially taken with the Dire Wolf.Outside is set up like a small neighborhood on one side of the main street with farm and business buildings on the other. My grandchildren took turns choosing which place to see next. Their outdoor favorite was the caboose. There's a recording of the train moving and they were pretending we were going to grandma's house and to a friend's. We had to sit any time the train was "moving" and almost didn't get out of there! The price for this small museum is great, only $2 for adults, $1 for children 3-? and for seniors. They also participate in the program providing free entrance to active duty military families. We visited near the end of June and the houses had 4th of July decorations. I also went about 14 months ago and they had Easter decor. It's just a bit here and there, I almost missed it, but I enjoy that extra touch by the staff. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

This place is so nostalgic for many reasons... one, because it's a museum and everything is old and nostalgic... and two because it's a place we've been going to for many years! It's educational, cute, and I love the little neighborhood set up.. it's a blast from the past, a window into a life from before. I've gotten perspective on how grateful I am to be here in the present. The past was rough. Check out the museum and let people know what your take away from the experience is.

This museum , while not as grand, as others are bigger, does pack a punch. The museum itself is a time capsule from early settlers to current displays. Just a few steps away are a series of previous decades of houses. Then, across from the old-time houses, sits the railroad with more artifacts. Then, when it is cooler, there is a great ghost town to go through. A purely delightful day awaits.
