NBCF should translate to AMAZING! Discovering this place and the wonderful people who make up the organization was equal to hitting the JACKPOT! Being the parent to a visually impaired child is as challenging as it is rewarding. We were connected with NBCF via Facebook just shy of our 90 day mark of being Las Vegas residents and at the end of a stressful transition for my son, the move from his old school in NY to here was rocky & my ray of sunshine was loosing his luster. I think within a week of me learning about NBCF their children’s summer camp program began. By the end of the first day my son had the smile I had been longing to see, by the end of the first week he not only was back to the smiling happy go lucky son I know but he was full of stories about his adventures and hopes of future events with his new friends and as he calls them teachers, and please don’t forget BUDDY!! (The dog) I can’t begin to Thank ANY of the people who makes this place possible enough. What your facility offers these children is so special and even more importantly NECESSARY for the growth and development of visually impaired children. If I could give you a MILLION star rating I would... I look forward to having NBCF as a part of our family for a long time to come.

. This past weekend the Nevada Blind Children's Foundation honored a group of us seniors enrolled in Saint Rose Dominican's Dignity Health "Helping Hands" program by hosting a traditional Thanksgiving dinner! The invitation to dinner was both unexpected and greatly appreciated. The absolutely AMAZING meal consisting of roast turkey, stuffing, every possible side dish imaginable, a freshly-tossed dinner salad, mashed potatoes made from REAL spuds, thick gravy, golden-baked dinner rolls, assorted deserts as well as takeout containers to carry another meal home with us.But by far the most exciting and impressive surprise of all was spending time with the young people aged 9 to 19 to whom we were introduced! The adolescents, each with his or her own level of sight-related challenges, had teamed up to prepare our delicious Thanksgiving feast themselves! For them, in addition to performing a kindness and a community service, their work was also an opportunity to demonstrate just how ABLE and not DIS-abled they are.Credit also goes to the teachers, counselors, and volunteers who are obviously devoted to the young people as well as being wholeheartedly dedicated to the childrens' struggles, their interests, their achievements, their futures, and their happiness.I am ever so grateful for the splendid meal, but also am I pleased to have had the chance to spend time with these extraordinary youths at the NBCF where each of them is encouraged to dream while still working hard to overcome obstacles and make their way in a potentially hostile world. The children rely on the guidance and support from trained professionals and of course their sight impairments must be acknowledged and met head-on, but whatever impairments might there be, they will not allowed to define these courageous individuals.

The Nevada Blind Children's Foundation is a non profit organization. Which offers so many numerous activities, tutoring, mentoring and summer camp for the children of Las Vegas who have a visual impairment. When I found out about this organization, my daughter was 5 yrs old and went to their summer camp as her very first interaction with the foundation. She absolutely loved it. She had never met other children just like her. Every since then, she's been apart of every one of their events, activities and special tutoring they offer. The Nevada Blind Children's Foundation has been our families answers to our prayers, in SO many ways. Thank you to the amazing staff for your love, support, time, dedication and genuine caring of my daughter all these years.
