It's a great store, and I love shopping here (I really do), but the staff was terrible today and came off super disrespectful. Otherwise, I'd give you guys a 5

I was assisted by an associate a few weeks ago and the initials say ALN on them. She was an absolute sweetheart and very friendly. And she offered the itemized receipt right before I asked. She was great. This is the only reason I give it two stars.I went in a second time to this location and the vibes were immediately off. Whatever, they’re all literal kids running this establishment and it’s a great example as to why that shouldn’t be the case.My itemized receipt is what really irritated me. Most of my items were new with tags, and I’m totally fine that some items don’t fit their style standards or what they’re looking for, but it’s the lowballing for what they are willing to take, that was absolutely insane. They marked a lululemon bag that was new with tags as an “unknown bag” and were trying to take it for 1.65. Meanwhile, a few weeks back, a lulu bag that was used and I had sold to them was bought for much more than this new with tags one. I understand that mistakes happen, but when you aren’t even offering the receipt so the customer can at least see it up front, it comes off as sneaky, predatory behavior.I can’t imagine how many people who are really struggling and hard up for some extra money right now just will take whatever they possibly can, and wouldn’t even ask for a receipt to verify what they are selling and then Plato’s takes full advantage of that. I personally did not sell them anything else after that because I felt uncomfortable with the whole experience at that point. So what I will say is this:If you are thinking of selling to these guys, PLEASE do a few things to not get taken advantage of - count out and itemize the items yourself, take a photo of what you have and even keep that paper in the clothing so that they know that you’re completely aware of what you are selling. Next, whenever they tell you a dollar amount no matter how much it is, check the receipt and get an itemized copy before you accept anything. Make sure that the items that say “unknown tee” or whatever, truly don’t have tags that are legitimate because it’s a way to get your name brand item for less so they can mark it up once they go to sell. Again, this isn’t going to be all employees, but I have seen this happen too many times for how little I go, and they’re just not a company that shows really any integrity. That’s why I take very little inventory there - 15-20 items max and it’s only items/styles I’ll be donating to Goodwill if they don’t take them. What’s crazy is that they claim to take styles that are newer, but you can take one look at most Plato’s locations and see things that were most popular in the 2010’s ?All this to say, just be careful and remember you are allowed to say no to their offers, especially if the offers are complete BS. Lol.

Customer service is poor. Employees are snobby and act as if I, the customer, am interrupting their gossip session when I ask for a fitting room or am ready to check out lol. Believe the other reviews people.

I should have read the reviews before driving 42 mins here. I arrive at 10 am; this is the time they open. And guess what, they aren’t open. So I wait 10 mins and still not open. No sign that they will be closed or opening late. Someone needs to come andclean this store up, from all the reviews about bad service you guys will end up with no customers.

the girls at the front desk are racist, rude & snobby. I brought in a bag full of brand new items with tags from Fashion Nova jeans, jackets, sweaters. With a bunch of sunglasses in boxes from my online boutique they had the nerve to tell me there inventory for these items are full. I could tell they never even took items out the bag… but the girl who came behind me who of course was white had a bag of old dingy things and they accepted her items. I won’t be returning. Sad you have individuals like this working in your establishment.

I bought some Jordan’s from here and they weren’t the expensive kind, only costed $50. However they were painted to hide stains that revealed a few times after wearing them. I wouldn’t trust buying Jordan’s from them since they are most likely tampered with and will eventually lose whatever paint they had. Besides that experience, it’s hard to find something good at a reasonable price. I’d rather buy from other second hand stores that do not charge $7 for an old run down t-shirt.

waste of time trying to sell anything to this establishment. I was told they were only taking trendy clothes, such shorts, etc. I brought all the trendy clothes they mentioned and they were expensive brand, yet they didn't take anything after1 1/2 hr wait. by the way, it was only about 10 pcs and still took them this long.So my question is, do these kids decide what's trendy?. Never again. I can easily sell these clothes online and get a lot more money. or just donate them instead of wasting my time.

I don’t understand how there’s 4 of them in the front and the service is slow. They too chill and slow reaction. It’s like they’re on drugs or something

This isn’t my first time selling to this location and each interaction seems to go lower in my experience. Customer service is just poor & unfriendly. I always check online to see if what I’m bringing in is what they’re looking for in hopes of selling most of the clothes I’m lugging in. All of which is washed, fairly new & brand name. Just not a friendly place to go & waste time at.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO SELL HERE. And in that case don’t bother buying either. Customer service here is terrible. I drove 20+ minutes to sell 10-15 articles of clothing (most of which I bought within the last 1-2 years and have just never worn, therefore most of the clothes are in great condition) just to spend less than two minutes in store. This is the recap of the interaction ALL IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES of being in the store:I walk in, no greeting from anyone at the counter other than “are you selling?” I say “yes” to which I’m asked “what do you have?” I explain I have sweaters, long sleeves, some skirts and overalls. I’m told “we’re not taking any of the that, we’re only taking what’s on the board (points to a hand- written white board that isn’t very clear to read) and we’re only taking active wear “. I explain online says you take all clothes all year round. I’m told that’s because people think they take furniture… Um,ok? The associate says I can “take a picture of the board for future reference”, which makes no sense if you all seem to just change the board whenever you want, so those items are likely not going to be the items you’re looking for in ”the future”. Then I ask “so does that mean you won’t even look at what I brought in?” The associate says “I mean, I can…” I said “not if you’ve already decided without looking that you’re not going to buy anything“ and leave. What is the point of advertising yourself as a second-hand retailer who accepts all seasons of clothes all year long but then met with the third-degree WITHOUT even looking at the clothes and being told they’re ONLY looking for ACTIVEWEAR all in less than 2 minutes of setting foot in the store? This is the only Plato’s Closet I’ve had this happen at (I’ve shopped and sold at Plato’s Closets in Southern California).Icing on the cake: she’s giving me third degree of the clothes I brought in, which were all washed, on hangers and in nice garment bags while she’s rummaging through a GARBAGE BAG OF CLOTHES…. A GARBAGE BAG. This place does not want to spend money on what they say they’re looking for but is more than happy to overprice clothes to get customers to spend.

Great place to sell clothes! They are open about their pricing policy so you aren't going to make a ton of money but you'll leave with more money than you went in with. They also have a great selection of clothing for sale so you can refresh your wardrobe if you choose.

Selection good. California Plato’s were better in my experience. It’s a waste of time to sell clothes you’ll get more if you sell on poshmark. You’ll wait an hour and they won’t choose anything.
