It's a good place for video games, and the service is good most of the time, but it's gotten bad that they give you like no money for trading a game or console, etc. And the warranty for controllers got worse now they give you another used controller at this point like a gift shop. I would recommend just selling your stuff online

I’m not a huge fan in leaving a bad review for any business, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. This happened Feb 4th, around 3pm or 4pm. I went in to pick up a Switch OLED, and a bunch of games. I paid over $800 for everything. A big transaction.Let’s start with when I walked in, I went straight to the back to pick out switch games. I was not greeted once by the person. She was wearing glasses. I did hear other people come in, and they were greeted. But not sure if she greeted them or the other nice lady was doing the greeting in the front. (The nice lady wasn’t in the front at the time I came in).When I picked out my games, I went to the front, to ask for the switch. Once I was at the register, the lady with glasses did look bothered as she was working on something. If she was busy, she could’ve told me to head to the other register and that would’ve been the end of it. But she helped me. I requested the switch, and extra controllers. I also mentioned that I would like to renew my pro membership, and I noticed on the card machine it said that game informer was digital. I told her I would rather have the physical copies since I enjoy looking at the actual magazine. She just told me it would cost more for it to be physical, but still kept it at digital even though I mentioned it multiple times to her. I would’ve paid for it. I prefer physical haha.Anyways, here comes the payment. I told her that I will be paying in multiple payments. I had extra cash and saved up multiple visa gift cards from work that I receive every month as part of my commission. When I handed her the cash ($145), I noticed she checked every single $20 bill by putting it up to the light and then scratching one of them. There were 7 $20 bills. I was hoping I didn’t receive any fake bills since they all came from the bank. But whatever, I’m sure it’s protocol to check every large bill. Once she checked every single bill, she finally inputted the $145 to the balance. I then pull out a gift card. I slid the card, it took off $85 from the balance. Then I pulled out another one. I slid the card and took out $100 off the balance. As I was going to pull out a 3rd one, she intervenes and tells me that I can’t do it anymore because it’ll cause an error in her system. Something about fraud? So, I asked, can I at least try it to see if it works. She tells me no. And then asked me if I have another card, like an actual card. I did have an Apple Card, but I didn’t want to use my credit card when I have perfectly good money right there. Then I asked her if we can just take some of the stuff off and then pay the items separately. Of course she declined that too since we were in the middle of the transaction and would have to refund everything back. Just imagine if I actually declined to continue with the transaction and had her refund me the amount already paid and go to another GameStop? Of course I didn’t. The nice lady that was there intervened and asked what was going on. I explained to her that I want to pay for the items with the rest of my gift cards that I had saved up. She asked me to go ahead and try. So, I pulled out the gift card to swipe. Once I swiped, I looked at the machine and it was approved. Then the nice lady told me to swipe the next one. I swiped it and it approved. There was remaining balance of a little over $100. That’s when I pulled out my Apple Card, and paid for the remaining balance.Look, I guess the lady with the glasses may be right and she knows what she is talking about, but the gift cards all were approved through the system. I didn’t want to tell her how to do her job, but they all approved! I work hard for my money, and she wanted to deny my hard earned money?Here’s the icing on the cake. She hands me my receipt, but no bag for the items. As I’m walking out, the nice lady asked me if I wanted a bag for my items since I have a lot of games plus the gaming system. I said yes. She happily put the items in the bag, told me to enjoy the new system and I was on my way.

They were nice enough to hold a game for me that I couldn't find anywhere else. Need more cashiers, but the one that was there was doing his best and repeatedly apologized and thanked everyone for their patience

It’s 11:10am and there are 5 customers waiting outside for someone to open the store. When on the hours it says it opens at 11am. 3 customers left and yet no one picks up the phone or open the store.

You ever have a messed up day and just wanna play your favorite video game? I Called in for a game 2.5 hours ago and they told me they had it and would put it to the side for me. Just paid 15 bucks for an Uber to get here and they said it’s not even registered in stock. Thanks

Went into this store today with my kids,the young man behind the counter who's name was Andrey was not only helpful but his customer service was well beyond on point.He was very informative of the games which I liked!

This is the store by Lowes on Eastern. I was asked to leave after asking for a steam card on the receipt?? The gentleman behind the counter didn't know how to do it. Then he told me to leave.Okay? Have never been asked to leave a store? HmmmMaybe more training is requiredOr say goodbye.

Me and my son called this GameSpot for an Xbox Series X, they said they have one left and can not hold it for us. We got there 20 minutes after we called and then they told us they were holding the last one for another customer!!!!?? We told them that they told us they can't hold the Series X for anybody, its whoever comes in their store gets it first... Nope! They told us sorry but there is a customer that is on their way to come buy it and that was it!!! All they gave us was a Sorry.... last time I buy anything from them! And not renewing our membership!
