As tax preparers, there is an expectation of some type of expertise or at least some accurate knowledge. I am certainly not an expert when it comes to taxes, but it’s not my first time dealing with the IRS. I owed them from a couple of years ago, however, I received a refund for 2024. The tax preparer that helped me at this location stated more than once that I would receive this refund because it’s for a different year. Even though I expressed the likelihood of them applying it to the balance she said that wouldn’t happen. She created an expectation that I was going to receive this refund. Along with multiple updates via text message from them stating that this refund would arrive in my account on April 14. On April 14 there was nothing there and there was a new message so I called the IRS to find out it was applied to my balance. How is it that I know better than you and I don’t prepare taxes for a living? Don’t tell people falsehoods and give people false hope. Say that you don’t know. Say that it’s possible that the money could be applied to the previous balance. I will most definitely never use H&R Block again.

Horrible. Was told because I was completely unsatisfied with my tax experience this year, and didn't have my taxes done correctly and very rushed and tax expert was still focused on the person before me taxes, would get a full refund of what I paid for my taxes to be done by end if march. Never recieved, went back in to be told I had to talk to his boss at a different location, to be told by her that I needed to wait just a little bit longer for another letter from irs that was never the issue to begin with. But now that boss is not working any longer this season. Don't work with them, customer service is lacking and I don't know how to get my refund.

After coming here for over 14 years we will no longer return unless alden is there . We wasted a hr just for the lady not to finish our taxes . Supposedly system issues but I think she was just overwhelmed . H & r block should have better trained professionals especially because they're dealing with people serious info.
