The food was good service was good and the place was clean. Honestly the only thing I didn't like was that the yams weren't sweet enough.

The nearby community is being ignored, as it questions how Mario's received SO many free millions. We know which politician was involved. The catfish is now unaffordable. $20 could feed 3 or 4 people, 3 years ago. Now. It will get you 3 pieces, of breaded catfish. Pork chops were 2 for $5, and now, they're 2 for $8.66. He has taken advantage, of the community and gotten the most, out of their monthly food stamps. A young relative, of his is even rapping, now, or shall, I say bragging, about his family's free money, because he has no albums sold. Anyways, behind me is a trail, of $8.66 pork chops, I've been spitting, on the ground, because it has so much fat, that it's like a giant greasy pork rind. It gross, like the alcoholics, and addicts, around the store, trying to get more loaded.

I give the market 5 stars, but the cooked food 3 stars so I'm averaging 4 stars. The market has some pretty unique food items that I had not seen in years. The cooked food was not good. The yams weren't sweet at all and not candied. I had the catfish stakes because they ran out of filets. Too many bones to enjoy, I ended up throwing it away. There was an aggressive employee who kept telling everyone to get out of line to wait once they ran out of something. L not about to stand in line for 30 minutes and when I get to the front I'm told to get out of line. Luckily there was a Latino lady who appeared to be in charged who told us we could remain in line as we waited. The customer service was really good except for the guy on just mentioned who didn't know any better. Anyway, they need to figure out how to not run out of food so often plus figure out how to make yams. The green beans were really good. Didn't taste the Mac and cheese.

Guyssss I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I can't even lie on this review right now. First let me start off by saying the grocery, the service the workers or always pleasant and the store is kept clean, that was not my issue!! Now I've been hearing about Mario's from my bf family who lives on that side forever! Of course my phone overheard the convos and I was flooded with videos on IG about this place so I was determined to try their catfish! A few times we tried they would be SOLD OUT or low on food so I just knew my persistence was warranted and I had to try this food. We were finally able to get some the other night and when I tell you, this food was sooooo SALTY. Like I enjoy a lil salt now, it brings out the flavor and I'm known to put it on my fruit, my eggs, etc, but I could not even enjoy the meal at the rate I was drinking water to get the salt taste out of my mouth. We got the greens, the mac and cheese, the greens beans and about $28 worth of fish!! The fish was okay, a lil dry but I liked that they gave you a big portion and pieces were like small slithers so there was plenty to share and consume. The greens tho were extremely salty. I even tried everything again the next day separately to give it a fair account. The mac and cheese wasn't bad but also didn't have any like flavor to it necessarily other than cheesy but super salty on everything else. Maybe it was just a heavy handed day for whoever worked 2/6/24.

The fried fish is amazing! It is seasoned well and priced, right. Everyone was friendly, and service was fast. They sell cherry Shasta and a lot of different hot sauces and seasonings. Items you would not find at a typical grocery store. We will be going back.

Hot food is mediocre to say the least. The grocery prices are outrageous! I've even heard other customers throughout the store speaking on how high their prices are. I give 2 stars because of the seasonings and hot sauces they carry. You find a large variety of fry's/batters soul food and jerk seasonings and just about every hot sauce you can imagine..... but sadly at nearly double the price. Supply & demand is to blame I guess.

I have been wanting to check out Mario's supermarket upgraded market. When you walk in they have a small liquor store. Several cashiers lane. The cooked food is at the back. It's like a neighborhood market quick shop came here to get some fried catfish and fish steaks. I got the combo for $13 plus tax. The catfish used to be a big wide size but now it's so skinny. You got 3 items plus 2 sides which I picked. Yams were alright and mac and cheese which was a little salty and a can of soda. I'm so happy that they sell tahitian treat soda!!! Yes , they have it! I am also surprised to see a full fridge full of blue bell ice cream too! The new store is much better than the old one. It is clean and organized. They have pretty much everything you need for a quick shop. Produce, bakery, and fresh and frozen meat and poultry. The workers are friendly. The parking is good, they have plenty! Check them out and see for yourself

4 stars to Mario and this new location!! The other was so cramped it was nice to have some room! 5 stars for variety, he had so many things you can't find on this side of the country, things I only see visiting family back east and in the south. Nice variety of produce, sauces, literally a one stop shop. There are a limited amount of Organics but I know that's not why people are shopping here. We got fish cooked at the old location, but did more of a tour here. I will say that some things are kind of high, we're label readers now and love pork cracklins, found some that we were ok with, had two bags in hand and a $5 (they weren't marked) but they were $3.89/bag! We just got one lol. UPDATE: Went to try said cracklins and they expired today!! Because of this I had to make it 4 stars. But I consider this a specialty type store and sometimes you pay more in those places. Takes nothing away from the establishment. Our cashier was cute, I complimented her Vans matching her Mario's shirt and she was telling me her fashion philosophy. I love the greens growing in the doorway, and the selection of black/local mags. They had a markdown table as well. If you're in the area, stop by!!

This market is located at Lakemead and MLK. I came here to check out what kind of prices they have on meats and to my surprise. They are fairly cheaper than other grocery stores. The store itself was really clean and well stocked. The meats and produce looked really good. The employees here though are not so friendly. Not one person smiling or offering to help you find what you need. They for sure need to work on customer service. Including the restaurant in the back. At the restaurant in the back I ordered the 3 filet dinner that came with 2 sides. 3 catfish filets. And a can of Shasta soda for $13.99 before tax. The catfish was so well stocked in the hot case I figured it was cause they just made some. NOPE. The catfish I got was cold. And hard. Obviously sat up there for sometime thinking they were gonna be extra busy or something. The flavor was good. But it wasn't fresh. Not even warm. For my sides I had the macaroni and green beans. The macaroni was obviously up there for a long while as well. And the green beans were good. But very salty. This place could be great. With a few things that could be worked on. Overall. I'd hit this place up for some meats. But as far as the restaurant part goes. I could do without.

Everything tastes totally different, and there's no quality control with the food since they've relocated to the new location. The fish was cold and tough, The yams taste totally different. The yams taste like they are can yams. They didn't add any brown sugar or cinnamon or anything torn. They're barely even sweet, and they're sitting in water. The macaroni and cheese is garbage. Not made with real cheese. I'm totally disappointed and I will not be returning. They charge you $7 for a catfish tail with barely any meat on it. And they don't season the fish. Whoever is cooking their food is not doing what they're supposed to do. And they're not cooking with love. There's slapping that food together that's just how it taste. It's a shame that they're ruining mario's reputation. I used to love their food, Not any more.

I’m in love with the new Mario’s Market. It’s clean, smells and looks good. The meat market is the best, they have every meat you could possibly need. The food to go is always awesome (love the fried fish❤️). The best thing is the light up garden thing they have right infront soon as you walk in. Long as this market is standing they have me as a customer.

Thank God Mario decided to keep his market in this area where there is no supermarket or restaurant worth going to. I have lived on the Northside of Las Vegas 20 years and We have choices of places to eat. We go to Mario's . His prices are fair and with African Americans with high blood pressure and diabetes, I think the cooks season the food just right. If anyone want a lot of salt and sugar COOK your own FOOD. There are places for SALT and SUGAR lovers to eat. I choose to eat at MARIOS 82 yr old Female
