My 1st visit Feb2024 with DVM Cameron Adler was exceptional. My 7y.o. Cat had an infected eye, and that is what brought us to Durango Animal Hosp. I was extremely pleased with Dr Adler's interaction with Charley, Dx and Care Plan. HOWEVER, scheduling a follow-up appt has not been a simple task. When you call-in the may ring 4x before being rudely answered saying, "You are caller #3, hold on." THE PROBLEM here is that the rude Receptionist DOES NOT EVER return to update you on your 'Wait-Hold Status' she just lets you sit. TERRIBLE RECEPTIONIST who lacks professionalism & compassion in simply answering and managing phone calls, and is a huge liability to DAH practice if she is not trained on how to 'Compassionately' manage these "IMPORTANT" ph calls.

This place used to be really good, but I wouldn't even trust them to correctly diagnose a talking cat that says it has a cold. My kitten went in for a work up of what was wrong with her since she was feral. They were told explicitly that this was a feral kitten from Texas. She got a parasite screening test and some eye gel for her gunky eyes. No dewormer despite the inflamed butt, watery diarrhea, and swollen tummy. No flea treatment despite the fact she was COVERED IN FLEAS. They didn't even correctly identify her age and gender. How did a trained vet (and presumably vet techs) miss the fact that she was overrun with fleas? Her hair is dark, sure, but you don't check for fleas on a feral? You don't check for the most obvious cause of parasites? (Also, my home vet told me to throw out the gel because it can irritate cats.) I spotted the fleas as soon as I met her (after the vet visit). My sister didn't handle her much since she was (correctly) worried about bringing something home to her own cat, so I don't blame her. And the cherry on top, the front desk staff is extremely disorganized. I called and got her put under my name instead of my sister's name. I gave them my number, my email, and the email for my home vet. I needed her results sent to her vet asap. What did they do? The vet called and left a voicemail on my sister's phone. She was at work while I was 400 miles away at the ER with my kitten. I've lost probably 2 hours of my life on hold with their office in the last 3 weeks. My kitten might have panleukopenia (something they also didn't bother testing for) and it might mean putting her down if she can't bounce back. I wish my sister would have gone to any other vet in the city. Don't bring your pets here. And for gods sake don't bring your kittens here.

So. . . My pup and I moved out to Las Vegas/ Summerlin a little less than a year ago, and within a month or so found Durango Animal Hospital. It was clean and affordable, and the staff seemed personable and competent. . . until today. Mind you, we've been there at least four or five times for doggie shots, etcetera, and never had a problem, other than sometimes having to wait for quite a while. So what's with the single star? Well, I had been calling for several days trying to get a refill on the seasonal anti- itch meds for my dog, and they finally got back to me at 7:55 last night to tell me that the script was ready. They were about to close, but said that they'd be open at 6am. Pan ahead to 5:58am, and nobody is there yet but myself and the couple waiting before me. Well, one of the girls that works there eventually shows, only now there's six different parties lined up at the door. They open up, we go in, and after signing the first pet in, I'm told by 'Brooke' that I'll have to "wait my turn" til all of the other animals have been signed in. I did tell her I was second in line, but --- twenty something minutes later, I'm still left standing there, while she's turning on her computer and then signing in all the others strolling in. And, my ride is still sitting outside in the car, waiting on me, waiting on her. When they finally get to the script, I reach for it to confirm that it's ours, and that it's been filled correctly, but she snatches it from me, snapping, "You can look at it after I've charged you!" What a horrible person. Brooke. B-r-o-o-k-e. I won't be going back there, but if anyone reading this does in desperation, trust me, and go to the other person working.

Let me start by saying I only came here because Dr.Vine moved from South Buffalo Springs (RIP Bivens) , but the front desk seems lost and no better then SBS , i went to check out and was told to wait in room , I sat in the room after my visit for an additional 15-20 waiting for them to check me out , cam back today for my baby to be spade I was told to come between 6am-8am only my baby sat in a grungy kennel for 7hrs before they started ! And when I called twice I was giving some BS , so frustrating, I was also giving a total and definitely got charged more smh ! When I was told she is ready at 4:10 I'm still waiting after I paid the ridiculous amount ! Another 20 something min later ! And still no baby ! On top of this I used the ladies room and it is gross ! Still waiting it's been 30 min ! And then had the nerves to try to charge me for a collar that I did not need nor did I want I don't think I'll be coming back to this place whether Dr. Vine is here or not this is ridiculous that the veterinarians in Las Vegas are like this

Came here on a recommendation from All About Cats after my kitten had a spay that wasn't looking so hot. All About Cats is nearby and where I used to go when I my 20something cat was still around, but at this time they were booked up and recommended here and I'm glad they did!! Dr Sweetenburg (I hope I got her name right, I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong) was so good with our kitty and helped save her. Lil Kiki had a pretty nasty spay that just wasn't healing right for some reason, I needed her to get looked at asap but every where around me was booked up. Luckily I was able to get in with Dr Sweet who found the issue pretty quickly. Kiki had this swollen mass that was sent in for testing and it turned out to be nothing to worry about, dead cells from trauma that won't cause an issue. She had to go in for a surgery not long after her original spay, I felt so bad for our little baby, she was becoming so scared of vet offices after her kitten shots, a reaction to shots, her spay and now this. Dr Sweet was very gentle with her and helped ease her worries so she could assess the issue. The surgery took about a day and she stayed overnight with the staff. Everyone was friendly and kept us in the loop with our little baby. She hasn't had any issues since, she's healed up fine and is about to hit her one year birthday :) As first time kitten owners, we were very pleased to have someone who was calm and collected and very thorough with everything. While they do have long wait times here, I still would recommend them because the staff is friendly, the doctors are great and the prices are fair for the work they're doing.

This place offers affordable vaccines with no consultation fees. Been here twice and the doctors and vet techs have been amazing. The problem is the front desk. You can't make an appointment for vaccines so you have to just show up and check in. The wait can be an hour or 3 hours who knows? The lack of organization amazes me cause I've never seen any office operate like that. You make an appointment to save time. Also so you can plan ahead in case your pet is anxious. Also, I called them and was put on hold for 10 mins because there was a "medical emergency". I patiently waited. Didn't think much of it until got into the office and while I was waiting in the lobby, I heard the receptionist answer the phone and say "can you please hold there's just a medical emergency". Like, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They just lie and answer the phone like that. Again, I want to like this place, but front desk is just a piece of work.

I have been coming to this animal hospital for decades with my family pets, and at least 10 years with my own. Unfortunately, this vet office that has taken a turn for the worst, mainly due to the front office staff being rude and condescending. Unfortunately to get to the great expert vets you have to battle the front office where you cant make appointments for vaccines, have to walk in, cannot call before 9 to be put on the walk in list, the walk in list is estimated a time ( approx 60mins) but could take 3+ hours, and you better show up before 5 mins past once they text you, or your off the waitlist. I called to get put on the waitlist for my animals vaccines and was asked if it was an emergency and I said no and they said "there are three people ahead of you. Is it OK if we put you on hold" and I said yes. once I was at the office, I saw the receptionist, pick up the phone, said say the exact same thing to another client and then go back to not helping the clients on the phone or in person. This most recent experience was a second chance for this vet. They gave my dog a procedure she didn't need, and didn't provide the procedure to my second dog, who actually needed it. They didn't even catch the mistake until i asked a whole bunch of clarifying questions. After we did a waitlist appointment, they never provided us a room. They just pulled the dogs back, the dog that needed the procedure, but didn't receive it, had to go back twice. Then they proceed to tell me that I am a bad pet owner, because one of my dogs was a little over weight, in the lobby, because they never provided a private room. The lack of tact, professionalism, and organization exhibited by the employees at this vet office should be avoid, if at all possible. I think this vet has gotten to busy for its own good, and to the detriment of the client experience.

The animal hospital is clean, orderly, and has a cute gecko in the lobby. We brought a wandering cat there to see if it had a chip and it didn't. They wouldn't take the cat. We ended up finding it's owner on a neighbor app. But, still, it just seemed stunning that they wouldn't take in a stray cat.

I did not come here for cosmetic reasons. I came here to fix the problem. He was in pain and his ear was completely swollen. I went to a different vet and they were absolutely amazing. They drained his ear completely for only $200 and took care of the problem, as it should have been taken care of in the first place.

I definitely do not trust this place at all! I took my kitty here because I thought she got hurt and of course they took her in and said she needed medicine. BUT they said she was a BOY and were so sure she was a BOY but she's a girl. I know for a fact because I took her else where and also got her neutered. Crazy how they had me and my kids thinking we had a boy cat for months until we went elsewhere because we thought they were wrong

I have been coming here for years with all my dogs. The service here has gotten progressively worse and is now the worst it's ever been. You can schedule an appt, do a walk-in, or call ahead to get on the list where they will call you when you have a couple people ahead of you which should be a convenience. They won't schedule appointments for wellness checks and vaccines. I called ahead to get on the list and they've told me to come in with only a couple people ahead of me. When I get to the office they tell me they don't do a waitlist for vaccines and now I have 7 people ahead of me as a walk-in. They quoted me an hour wait. It's now been 1.5hrs since I arrived and just moments ago they sent me a text with a waitlist and 4 people ahead of me. So is there a list or not? They knew what I was coming in for when I called. Now this web/text waitlist says I've been waiting for 30 minutes which is a big fat lie. So tell me - what is the procedure for getting in here? If I know what it is, I can plan for it and it avoid this frustration. If it's walk in only and no call-in waitlist, that's fine but be consistent. Every time I come in here it's a different story and it's extremely frustrating. It also depends on who picks up the phone or who's at the front desk. There was another woman in here with an appointment that waited over an hour to get in and then they told her another 45 minutes. What's the point of the appointment at that rate?! If you're willing to wait half your day to get in for simple vaccines, then this is your place. But don't count on timeliness here even if you have an appointment. And don't count on consistency of service or stories. The other thing - this front desk agent has repeatedly called animals up and said the wrong services for those dogs. She's constantly been corrected that "you called my animal but not for that service". Pretty scary if you ask me. Come in to get a vaccine and out of nowhere your dog is being called in for a serious medical issue. Mistakes happen but repeatedly this happens?! I made the mistake of giving them ANOTHER chance. It's been more than 3 chances so maybe I'm the idiot for coming back here. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of other reputable vets in Las Vegas. And if price point is your thing, there are still plenty of other vets at reasonable price points in the city. This place is horrible.

Went there for annual senior wellness check up. Waited there for 40 minutes, my dog came back and I couldn't find any signs of blood drawing. So I asked the staff about it, she said my dog is all good. They just gave her updated vaccination and vital check, that was all! And said all is ok. I asked the vet to do thorough wellness check up for senior dog and the vet did just vital check, came out everything is good?!?!?! How does she know??? I was there for 2 hours today for nothing in the end except vaccinations. I also asked updated vaccination print out, they came back to me 20 minutes later and can't give me that, because of their computer system. Also they gave me the rabies letter without any vet's signature and license number, they came back another 30 minutes later and said I don't need it. I asked it because my apartment rent management office in Milwaukee came back to me after I handed in that letter, asked the doctor's license number because it was blank. What made this nurse decide I don't need this information?!?!? And the vet told me also the reason she didn't do the wellness check was misunderstanding?!?!?! I even showed this vet the last year wellness check blood work result and talked about my concerns. And asked me if I want it now after almost 2 hours wasting my time there??? This was totally awful. Disastrous place. They don't care the customers time and needs. I'm not coming back that place ever again.

Poor service from this Vet did not provide full service to my rabbit for his allergies. They also lied about the appointment visit fee. I was supposed to get 14 days worth of prescription medicine to treat my rabbit allergies. But it only lasted 6 days the nurse assistant didn't package the medicine correctly and some of it already had done waste out inside the container they provided me. So I called them to make a complaint about the packaging and the lost medicine to see if they would give me more medicine to continue out my rabbit treatment. But they decline to they told me I would have to pay for the additional medicine. When I called in to make my appointment I told them I would be bringing both my Bugsy & Lola they told me the visit would be $75 so when I get there they charge me the $75 but after the appointment was over with they went on to say I will owe for the second rabbit too another $75. Which surprise me because they didn't charge me this up front and told me it would be $75 for the two rabbits. So my bank and all the Vets I know ask me why didn't they charge you for the second rabbit up front if they knew they were charging you $75 a piece for each rabbit. They were not clear on how their payment process works and my rabbit never got healed. The visit was $150 and the medicine was $44 I wouldn't recommend this Vet to no one.

I recently visited Durango Animal Hospital and was thoroughly impressed by their exceptional customer service. One aspect that stood out to me was the convenience of being able to check in using my phone, which saved me from having to wait around for long time. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient, making the entire experience seamless. It's reassuring to know that my pet's health is in good hands at Durango Animal Hospital.
