It's really unfortunate to have to leave a bad review here. I've seen both Drs Taylor and Bennett and found them both to be competent and caring vets. That's the only reason for 2 stars instead of one or zero. This place flat out fails at running an office. The staff is passible at friendliness but you can tell they are always on the edge of defensiveness because of their inability to schedule appointments. Day in and day out they have to tell the clients to sit there and wait for hours. The worst is that I pay their monthly care club dues but still get treated like a walk in. They're too antiquated to use a text system or something like open table to book appointments. And if you need to leave, you're put to the back of the line. Come on... it's almost 2024. Pretty sad when even the DMV manages customers better. For what they charge, it's totally unacceptable.

Very pleased with my first visit here. Dr Turner seemed very knowledgeable and kind. I'm sorry I've forgotten the vet- tech's name who worked with us because she was extremely caring and helpful. We will be back! I've had very good quality care in VCA vet clinics.

I've been going to Mountain Vista Animal Hospital for 10+ years. Long before the current office staff, and most of the current doctors.Had a 10 o'clock appointment, not a walk-in, which i did on my break as a CCSD school bus driver . After waiting an hour I asked the staff when I was going to be seen as I had to get back to work. They said they had no idea and that they had two emergency euthanasias that morning. I understand that emergencies happen, so why don't you tell the customer when they get there and what the approximate wait time will be so that you can decide at that point to wait or reschedule. While waiting an hour I witnessed other customers have to leave as well .Then a staff member comes out in the lobby and is waiting for a customer that comes in with their dog and gets taken right back, did not appear to be emergency while we are all waiting . No one likes to be treated like their time is not valuable.

I received a response from my previous review why respond on here if you truly don't care! I reached out never received a response from the hospital manager!

We are traveling for our daughters wedding tonight. From Indiana to Vegas. Our Yorkie got sick, and everyone has gone above and beyond to not only take care of our Winston Monroe, but also help with accommodations so we can still be a part of the wedding day.I can NOT stress enough how amazing this vet clinic is!

This place is an absolute joke with people looking to only line their pockets with money, my dad and sister had to put a puppy down and before they were able to say goodbye they DEMANDED MONEY meaning they would just sit there and let an animal suffer. They also chose to not inform us during our visit that our puppy would NOT be able to receive overnight care there. (We only took her there because it is less then 5 mins from our house) Instead they waited hours after we gave them all our money for 4 hours of treatment on a dying puppy that would have had a chance had we known to take her elsewhere, had we taken here to a REAL HONEST VET our little puppy would still be here. VCA on mountain vista, I hate you for stealing money from my family and for sending away a puppy in critical condition.

Perfect for retiree's who have nothing but time. Great medical care at top dollar (twice what you'd pay for a human, xrays, tests etc.) but lousy communication, "We open at 7am", when you get there you find out it's "surgical intake only" from 7am-8am and they expect you to wait an hour, or come back later even worse, like no one has anything to do that day but them. Their time is worth hundreds of $$ an hour, yours has no value. They will call you and tell you your dog is ready for pickup and even after you get there a half hour later you will still spend another half hour waiting, so apparently the dog was NOT ready for pickup, then they will "feel threatened" by your attitude, LOL. "Go woke, go broke". The docs are OK (the best one left, take that as you will) but the office staff, with one exception (multi-year relationship to know this, not a "one off") is incompetent, unmotivated and have an attitude. Numerous other service providers in the area, spend your money and your time (which is also money, as the saying goes) elsewhere.

I switched from Warm Hearts to here... at first because they were open Saturday and took me in as a walk in for one of my kids... But Dr. Taylor and staff were so awesome I switched and brought all 3 of my kids in!!!

I love this place. They genuinely seem to care about the animals they treat. I was very impressed by my first visit. Very thorough with tests and exam of my fur babyChoose them because they are open Saturdays. This is where I will take my pup from now on. Close to my house..

My dog gave birth but one puppy wasn't breathing & cold. I raced over this Hospital and they were incredible. I looked like the $1.98 beauty queen...up all night with birthing,,,they were quick to react to my emergency. I'm grateful for all they did for us. Sadly, little Bubba Jr. didn't make it.Thank you for everything that you did to save his puppy life. Thank you

Long wait. Friendly and caring staff. Expensive. I did love that the vet followed up with a phone call the following day.. overall, I would recommend it.

I love Dr. Bennett at this practice. She's very caring and knowledgeable. I also find the office staff to always be pleasant and helpful. The two things I don't like are 1.) I think the prices are ridiculous. I paid $615 for an abdominal x-ray, someone to read it, an office visit, and a fecal. It would have been over $800 if I did bloodwork, which I skipped because my dog had recent bloodwork and it was perfect. 2.) My dog was vomiting severely overnight so he was seen by Dr. Bennett yesterday. This morning he started bleeding a lot, all over the house, from his rear end so I called at 7am to see if I should pick up a prescription, feed him or not feed him, bring him back in... Dr. Bennett is not working today so they said the other doctor would call. 11 1/2 hours later Dr. Taylor called because he was the ONLY doctor working today. If you are going to charge super expense rates, you should at least have enough doctors to return phone calls in a prompt manner for a situation like this. Hire more vets! Also, my dog was really stressed yesterday and the vet tech (who my dog always has a very bad reaction to) took it upon herself to cut all his nails without even asking me when he was already screaming and fighting because he didn't want to go in the back with her and had been vomiting. No common sense.

I have taken my dog Rosie there twice for torn knee surgery Dr. Taylor is really good. Never had any issues,But one day unexpectedly our oldest dog collapsed we took him in and they told us he had a mass on his spleen that had ruptured,We were devastated and had to let him go. They put an IV in him and he laid there on the floor. then they told us we needed payment before euthanize. I said we came from across town we didn't bring any cards with us. I told them i was a client of Dr Taylor's and I had good standing with the hospital but the office manager No. I had to leave go back home and get our credit card while he laid there suffering. I had given payment over the phone before so I don't know what the issue was. I wont go back. The worst euthanization experience we ever had. No one in the office said sorry we just left. Not one employee stopped to give thier condolences.

I have an elderly cat and I cannot recommend Dr Buffalino and the staff at VCA Mountain Vista enough. Not only were they able to help my cat feel better but they were so incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. They even made note of Smokey’s love of Churu treats on her chart, haha. Your fur babies are in good hands here.
