Essentials is a gift shop located inside the Tropicana hotel, though it is not affiliated with the Caesar's property. The store offers a variety of items, including seltzers and tall cans of Corona, alongside a bunch of cute stuff. It is noted for having friendly and nice employees. The broader Tropicana hotel receives a mixed bag of feelings from guests. Plusses include ample free parking, plenty of working elevators, very spacious and pretty clean standard rooms with good temperature control, and amenities like a coffee maker, hairdryer, and iron. The pizza place, Passaggio, has pretty good pizza. However, significant minuses are reported. The hotel is described as old, a little stinky, and dusty, with so-so water pressure. A major issue is the extreme elevator wait times during checkout, described as ridiculous and unsafe. Check-in can be very slow, and housekeeping service was missing on a guest's second day, with no provision of the advertised free water. The casino machines are not loose at all. Some dining venues had long wait times despite being half empty. While some staff, like a cool cocktail lady and a helpful hotel manager, are highlighted, floor wait staff is far and few between. Overall, for some, the hotel is fun, but for others, it is disappointing and just meh.

omg I've never had so much fun in a casino. Yeah it's old and a little stinky but so much fun. Played twenty on this one a lot machine for a bit and it was just fun. I didn't make a million dollars but I didn't really lose and the cocktail lady was super cool. We're dating now.
