What a waste of time. Either their standards are impossible to meet or they just are not serious about finding homes for any of their dogs.We ended up getting a much better puppy for a lot less of a rehoming fee. And this guy is already adjusting to his new home.

Great rescue and good people. I adopted my dog here and he’s the best!

We were interested in one of the rescue dogs and when we spoke to the owner, he suggested another dog that wasn't listed so we made an appointment to come and meet both. He called that morning and canceled "due to weather" which is strange because it was snowing where I live in VC, but only raining where he was and I drove to work with no problems. We had to wonder if it was the conditions of the kennels when it rains? That's fine, but he wouldn't reschedule and wasn't responsive about getting rescheduled. We were also a little wary of the high adoption fee that was only a bit lower than it ended up costing to buy a 12 week old puppy. Seems a rescue would be eager to get interested adopters to come by, but we felt a bit put off and decided after reading a few reviews that this wasn't the place for us.

Just got another email explaining numerous personal problems Gordon is going through and berating me for my "piling it on without knowing the back story" (I assume with this review). Hope he manages to get through everything okay, but as far as managing a business and being compassionate, professional, and communicative with clients -- needs work.

So far so good. We went to look at s rescue today and was quite pleased with the set up. Yes Gordon is older and gruff, but he seems more of military retired person. He runs a tight ship with no bs. I will be working with him and my future rescue as a volunteer. So I will see how it goes but so far I have great hopes for the journey (: 4/5/16- I have adopted a dog from Cold Nose, I have taken her for four week training which was included in the adoption "free training for life "!! Joann was an excellent trainer. 4/22/16-4/25/16- I kept my dog at the kennels and she was happy due to the attention and exercise she got while she stayed there. I will always go to Cold Nose for future training and kenneling. If you are expecting puff ball Paris Hilton foo foo treatment you will not get it here. It is real with the people being real. Dogs are turned out to play and there is several volunteers that take the dogs for walks and playtime. All dogs are loved and well cared for at this facility.

Stay far away from this place. The owner seems nice, but he got cranky. We had a scary encounter.

Great business! The owner Gordon is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior. We board our JRT at his kennel when we travel. She always comes back happy and healthy.

This kennel is great! Gordon is a professional trainer and the dogs love him. My dogs are thrilled to see him and bark and jump on him with joy whenever they see him. Yes, they come home dirty (and they are poodles) but it is because they are outside and get to run on the ranch. They come home happy and have never been injured and only show love toward Gordon and NEVER fear. If you are looking for a kennel that is frilly and looks squeaky clean this is not the place but if you don't mind your dog getting dusty because he/she is outside and having fun then this is the place. Since my dogs are poodles I plan to get them groomed the day after they get home.

I cannot possibly write how ineffective and horrible this experience was for both my dog and I. I brought my dog to receive training. The owner's dog jumped on me and later nipped at my docile, non aggressive dog. When I reprimanded the owners dog with a sharp no, the owner went wild on me. Never believe that they train dogs. The owner yelled at me worse than an abusive parent. I would not like to see how he handles animals in private.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place is old and in need of major repairs. The latches can be easily undone for an escape. The free run area advertised is 6 acres of brush and holes in the fence. They make you reserve a spot with your credit card because they know that as soon as you see the place, you will not allow your dog to stay there. Seemed to be very nice people on the phone but I now believe them to be frauds. If your dog is a member of your family, you will not want to use this place. Wish I would have looked this place up on Yelp first. Only gave them a star so that I could write this reveiw!!!!

I had to check one star to make my comment....otherwise I wouldnt give him any stars!! The three comments I read were right on.....he always comes across nice, but trust me, he is not.....I brought my own dog food each time, and was never used! He even hit the cage with his cane very hard to get my dog to not try to come out...horrible!! He should not be running a kennel....This place is not safe for your doggies!! There are many good ones in the area...stay away from this cold nose kennel...pleeeese if you love your dogs!

OMG!!! This guy is HORRIBLE!!!! I will NEVER use this kennel ever again. The owner was nice at first but was dishonest and deceptive with pricing. He turned out to be a very nasty nasty person. I dropped my dog with the prior knowledge of what the price was going to be for boarding. I told him my dog was skiddish and he assured me it was fine and he had experience with dogs who were that way. I left to go out of town and he called me and told me that I had to return and pay him MORE money because my dog was vicious and had snapped at him. Since I had forked out a bunch of money for my trip, I had no other choice but to return to get my dog and had to put her in the garage with a bunch of food and blankets for 3 days. I had paid him money in advance and he refused to give me the money back even though he only watched my dog for literally 30 minutes. I would not recommend this kennel. He uses the bait and switch in my opinion. He's rude and very sneaky! Since using him, I have met MULTIPLE people who have had BAD experiences with him. STAY AWAY!!!!

I was going to keep my very sick elderly dog here for a one day. The owner seemed very nice if not overly so. He offered to keep the dog for free which I declined. He also asked me when I was going to drop the dog off but made it sound like it did not matter when he jsut wanted to know and he would be around working all morning anyway so I told him I would try to bring him around 8 when they opened. Me and my dog got to Nevada about 11pm that night and when I woke up the next day to take him to the kennels I found him unable to walk and doing very poorly from the trip. I was still kinda fretting trying to decide what to do when the owner called me at about 8:44 am asking where I was. When I explained to him that it did not look like I was going to be able to leave my dog because the trip had made him worse and I could not get him to stand up he became very irate over the phone telling me that I was a horrible person and that I gave all customers a bad name and people like me were what was wrong with the world. That he had planned his entire day around me and he could not believe what a horrible human being I was etc..etc... Hearing all that on that on top of being very stressed and worried for my best friend of 11 years was very traumatic. I cried hysterically for about an hour before I could stop. I told this guy up front the situation with my dog being old and sick and how he could not play or go on walks he just needed a safe place to spend the time so I could spend some time with my husband training in Fallon. Obviously there was poor communication on both our parts but I woule NEVER recommend anyone leave their dog with such an emotionally unstable and abusive human being.

I kept my dog here for a month. When I went to pick him up my dog was VERY dirty (probably cause all the kennels are outdoors) and I had an extra $300+ bill. The bill was because my dog allegedly chewed some of the dog house. Apparently, because my dog was so bored, probably because he wasn't walked enough, he had nothing else to keep him occupied. The owner of the kennel determined the wooden dog house was unsuitable for a dog to live in, and so put another dog house in the kennel, which, of course, my dog again allegedly chewed up. I had no choice to pay the fee because the owner said he would not give me my dog back until i did, plus he would keep charging me for his stay. I asked him for receipts and photos for what he did with the money and got nothing. When I looked at the dog houses, they basically looked like they were older, and I didn't notice anymore than a few teeth marks on aesthetics of the house. I think this guy scammed me into paying, and basically I couldn't do anything about it or I couldn't get my dog back. The other thing, if he was really taking care of my dog and letting him play with other dogs like his website states, which is why I chose the place, then I HIGHLY doubt my dog would not have chewed anything. He has NEVER chewed anything at my house, but that's because I walk him at least an hour a day. Bottom line: DO NOT keep your dog here if you want your dog to be well looked after, and if you do keep your dog here, expect to have added fees attached when you pick your dog up.
