Extremely disappointed with the work done on my very reliable Colt Government Model 1911. I only requested slide sights cuts and the installation of Kimber-style TruGlo T.F.O. Sights. Nothing more. Without prior authorization from me, they:1.) Machined cuts/installed Novak-style T.F.O. Sights!2.) Replaced the ejector, extractor, the firing pin's spring and its stop plate.3.) The ejection port was lowered, flared and lengthened.4.) The front sight was canted to the left. Dimples on its right side account for this.5.) After shooting 50 rounds, the rear sight lockscrew rose upward on its own, blocking the view of the front sight. This screw was not secured with threadlocker.Prior to sending it to Tussey, this pistol went through 500 trouble-free rounds, so there was no need to replace any of the factory parts. Regarding the sights, the word "Kimber" was crossed off on my receipt. Someone wrote "Novak" in its place. They knew exactly what I wanted and still did not honor my request. Send a pistol to this shop and there is no telling what THEY will do to it or what the charge will be!

Kevin Smith, who took over production of custom guns formerly crafted by Terry Tussey (who, sadly, passed away not that long ago), has shown himself to be an exceptionally creative, multi-tasking gunsmith and, especially, a master when it comes to turning out a truly custom, built a-la-carte to order, firearm in the classic Colt Model 1911 image. I recently took delivery of such a gun that he made expressly for me to my exact specfications which stands as a magnificent testimony to this skill, knowledge, and devotion to quality workmanship when it comes to turning out a really special firearm that I had been planning in my mind for some time. The piece exhibits the mirror finish I requested with the components being tightly fitted resulting in superb accuracy without sacrificing reliable functioning. He was always patient and paid close attention to my needs and instructions when making this vision in metal of mine a reality, to the point where I couldn't be more satisfied. I might also add that he made practical suggestions during the process from beginning to end so that this superb handgun would turn out just as I had hoped it would. In short, if you are looking to have that "very special Model 1911" made for you, this is the man for the job.

I’ve had several pistols worked on by Terry and he is simply the best in the game ... Always helpful and friendly service as well as fair pricing . The only place I will take my pistols to be serviced !

Met Terry through my wife and had the opportunity visit his shop. OMG, talk about a gunsmithing paradise. While I haven't shot his work, I can tell you the quality of his work is obviously the best...and he's a very pleasant guy.
