I recently visited All About Cars Reno for some car maintenance, and I was quite impressed with their service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the issues clearly and providing reasonable solutions. I would highly recommended them!

It used to be my go to place for years. Something has drastically changed here. #1-You used to make an appointment and they would get you right in. Now they let you make appointment to get your business and when you get there they tell you they will get to it when they get to it with a snotty attitude. Four years ago I bought a lifetime alignment for both my vehicles. When you go to use it they get all bent out of shape saying you were "Just Here year ago!" I'll use as often as I want or need it.I would never come back here if I hadn't bought the lifetime alignment. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE SHYTERS.Service: Wheel alignment

I did not have a great experience at this place. My car was overheating. They told me they ran some tests and that my head gaskets were fine but I had some issues with my radiator. So they replaced my radiator and I paid a lot of money for the various services they performed. Unfortunately, four weeks later my car started overheating again. I took it back to them and they said everything looked fine and were very adamant in stating that it clearly couldn’t be their fault that it was still overheating because they fixed the problem, but this must be a new problem, that they couldn’t find. They were rude to me, and interrupt me when I was talking and basically acted like I knew nothing of what I was talking about (which maybe is true, but it was still rude of them). I then took my car somewhere else, and found out that my head gasket is blown and essentially my car is totaled. So I paid them to replace the radiator for nothing.The only good thing I have to say is that they were able to get me in quickly when nobody else could.Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but from my experience, I would not recommend them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

REPONSE TO JEFF JOHNSON.All About CarsMr. Johnson called me stating that had been working on his 2005 Honda CR-V. He was trying to diagnose his own vehicle that did not want to start. He stated that he had replaced the alternator, starter among other things. After that, he tried to replace the ignition switch, breaking it in the process. The vehicle was towed to All About Cars. I explained to him that the first thing we would have to do was fixed the ignition switch then try to diagnose why it wouldn't start. Once the vehicle was at the shop, we discovered that Mr. Johnson had broken the ignition switch that goes to the steering column. I explained to Mr. Johnson that the most cost affection course of action was to replace the steering column with another column with an ignition switch still intact. I tried to find the ignition switch only, but being that the vehicle is an older model and has a manual transmission, that part was not available. We replaced the steering column and I called a locksmith. The vehicle is equipped with a smart key that requires programming. The locksmith tried to program the keys and said he could not communicate to the vehicle's computer. It was at that point that I told Mr. Johnson that I could no longer help him here at the shop. I didn't want to throw parts at the vehicle or charge him for extra diagnostic time. In the spirit of fairness, I told Mr. Johnson that I was not going to charge him diagnostic time or for the programming of the key, that was not successful, so he could instead use that money to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The only thing he would be charged for was the part the we installed (ignition switch) , a part that he broke. It is unfortunate that Mr. Johnson was not satisfied with our work, but I was honest and transparent throughout the entire process. We are a family owned and operated shop and we do good, honest work. I know Mr. Johnson was probably frustrated that his vehicle was not working, but that does not give one the right to tarnish our reputation.

Joe and his crew are amazing. I was stranded in Reno while traveling and he was able to get me in ASAP and diagnosed the problem. Very knowledgeable. Very fair with their pricing. If I didn't live 5 hours away I would make them my regular shop.

Nightmare. No car for three weeks. I called and explained the problem and they said they could fix my car. I had my car towed to their shop because they assured me they knew what to do. I called every day to get an update and kept getting one excuse after another. Finally I spoke with a rude and condescending person who said, "I am Joe the owner." He blamed me for their inability to fix the problem before telling me my car will need to go to the car dealer. They would not even help with towing. When I went to coordinate the tow they would not answer any questions and told me I needed to take care of it myself. In order to get my car to a place that could actually fix it, I had to pay these people $800 dollars, even though, again, my car was not driveable and they had not done any discernable work. The dealer said my car was a mess and they had to put it back together after being torn apart by this shop. The dealer fixed my car in 2 days and charged me half what this place did.I am extremely disappointed in this interaction with this shop. I have taken all of my cars here for the last 5 years and referred friends and family here, but not any longer. They were rude, condescending, and dishonest about what they could do. I would not recommend this shop to my worst enemy.Service: Electrical

I get all my brakes, oil, changes, and tires here and the management is very fair. You should really get these guys a shot. I think it is a family that owns it. I know there are two brothers and they are very understanding about hardships.

I have been going to All about cars for almost 10 years for all the mechanical problems and maintenance with 2 d,ifferent cars. I have received the best mechanical and maintenance work. Joe the owner is an Honest, hard working man who cares about people. He never adds extra non needed work. He tells you what you need and if you want the job done with his shop then he is very on time. He treats everyone with respect, he is really an excellent gentleman who cares about the community.Most Uber and Lyft drivers go to All About cars, and I recommed him to all my friends.His prices are very resonable and his brother who runs the front desk for him, is also a gentlman, friendly and has a great Customer service!! Anyone needing a good mechanic should try all about cars. He fixed my air-conditioning/condenser, changed my breaks, I purchased life time allignment package which he offers and it is very reasonable and he honors all of his çoupons and specials.All my oil changes for the past 10 years, I even got tires from him which was more reasonable than anywhere else in Reno!! Our car broke down in Reno while on a road trip from Washington, we still had a few days left on our trip. The owners were very kind, fast and reliable! Worst car repair experience of my life. Heard a noise when they gave it back to me (6 days late). Took it to another shop and they had installed my drive shaft backwards and didn't properly tighten the bolts to my transmission. Do not go here if you like your car.

Our truck suddenly started stalling and the check engine light came on while on a family road trip. Joe got us in first thing in the morning and was honest about timeline for fixing it.
