BaseCamp Climbing Gym is a popular indoor bouldering facility located in Reno, offering a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The gym primarily focuses on bouldering, with a smaller section dedicated to outdoor auto-belay and lead climbing. The indoor climbing area features fun, well-set routes with a softer grading, making climbers of all levels feel accomplished and comfortable. The ambiance is cozy, with ambient lighting and indie music creating a good vibe. Dogs are allowed, and both staff and visitors are friendly and approachable, fostering a strong community atmosphere. In addition to climbing, the gym offers a small fitness area with treadmills, weights, bicycles, and isometric machines, as well as dry and steam saunas for relaxation. The outdoor climbing wall attracts tourists and serious climbers alike, although the indoor bouldering section is the main hub of activity. The gym’s culture is less corporate and more relaxed than some other options in Reno, with community nights on Tuesdays and events that help climbers connect. Families appreciate that kids can conquer their fears on the shorter outdoor walls, and the gym provides a sense of achievement for climbers of various skill levels. For members, there are free yoga and core classes, a free monthly guest pass, and special deals at the downstairs cafe, making it a well-rounded spot for climbing and socializing.
Great climbing gym! Primarily bouldering with some outside auto-belay/lead climb. Good student discount for UNR students fyi. The grading is on the softer side but the setting is fun.

This place is awesome. The vibes are immaculate: great setting, killer music, a dang ol slackline for goofin off on, and they sell dirtbag hackey sacks at the counter.Seems less corporate than Mesa Rim and more relaxed. I’m psyched to go back

My kids had a blast! My daughter conquered her fear of heights and went to the top of the shortest ledge on the outside climber, next time she plans on going to the top.
