We had such a pleasant experience as we interacted with Bradley Martin, (who is an on campus trained GIA gemologist) while he did our appraisals, allowing us to see our gems through his microscope and showing us the actual measurements he was taking. Being present during the appraisal gave us peace of mind with the bonus of it being very informative. My husband and I would highly recommend him.

Bradley Martin was incredibly professional and personable while he appraised my ring. I had taken it to a jewler to have the gems re-inserted but did not have a good experience and suspected fraud. He was competent and explained in great detail the information he was able to identify from the ring. He made a lifelong customer out of me.

We took several pieces of jewelry to Brad and he is awesome! He walked and talked us through the entire process live - and we even got to see each stone under the microscope. It was so convenient to not have to ship our jewelry and heirlooms out for appraisal too and watch the entire process! I would highly, highly recommend anyone to Brad's services for very fair and informative appraisals.

I was dropped from my insurance co of 35 years for moving to a fire zone. Luckily my new insurance required a new valuation on my valuable jewelry (not much!) back in January. Brad did a formal valuation of my wedding ring, engagement ring and a necklace I received for my 20th anniversary. He then helped me and went through dozens of recently inherited pieces telling me the synthetics (some excellent replicas) from the real. He’s not cheap. But his service was invaluable in my opinion. He spent an hour+ With me and I now feel so fortunate I went. As a few months later I was physically assaulted and robbed of two of the pieces he did insurance evaluations on. Had I left them at the old valuation done 20+ years ago I would not have been able to replace one piece let alone both. He’s kind of expensive but worth every penny. I think he’s honest and trustworthy. He was recommended to me by two separate and the two best jewelers in the Tahoe area. Highly recommend.

Couldn’t have been more impressed with Mr. Martin’s services!!! He was the only one willing to do my appraisals right in front of me. He answered all of my questions and went through the pricing guides with me. He was very thorough and I would highly recommend his services.

You will not be disappointed in the services provided! Easy to get ahold of and Prompt in setting appointments, He thoroughly explains the appraisal process and easily makes you feel comfortable ! You wont have to leave your jewelry overnight or for weeks.. He does this on the spot .. He is a wealth of information and also can give the estate values / street value if needed. I brought in array of jewellery, mostly not sure of what I had?! Not only did Brad inform me of real vs. synthetic vs. costume, but explained & showed me as well. Was unsure of the value of some old family jewelry and Brad helped me understand their value. I called and made an appointment and when I got there he did everything in front of me, and was very knowledgeable and honest when I asked questions. Made it very easy.

If I could give zero stars...I would have!!! I bought a lab grown emerald from a VERY reputable second generation owned local jeweler (my family has been going there for 30 years) for $447.00 gem is papered in 2017. This guy said it was worth only $25.00. I also had the ring appraised for $85.00 from the same jeweler in 2017 before I replaced the gem. Now that my jeweler no longer has an appraiser on staff, they referred myself to this appraiser only because he is the only one in town and he charged me $420.00 for 3 pieces!!! I let my jeweler know and they will NOT be referring to him ANYMORE!!! Stay FAR AWAY from this man!!! He will only rip you off!!!

I have been meaning to have some of my jewelry appraised for quite some time now. Called Brad Martin, made an appointment and could not be happier. First, you stay with your jewelry the entire time. Brad explains EVERYTHING. You get to SEE what he's talking about. He's extremely thorough but doesn't talk over you. If you need it explained...he does it. Very reasonably priced. I highly recommend a call to Bradley Martin.

I needed an updated appraisal of my 19 year old engagement ring. After some research, I chose Mr. Martin because all he does is appraise- no buying or selling. I am so glad I made this choice! He made an appointment, had me look through the pricing index, look at the stone through the microscope, and the ring was never out of my view. I learned a lot about my own ring and the market, and I feel confident with the appraisal I left with. I should have done this years ago!

My wife and I could not be happier with the excellent jewelry appraisal service we received from Brad Martin. We are new to the Reno/Sparks area, and needed to update our insurance on her solitaire diamond wedding ring, so we called several jewelers who advertised appraisal services. The first two we called both said that they needed us to bring in the ring and leave it with them for a process that would take "about two weeks". We were uncomfortable to say the least about leaving my wife's ring with someone we really didn't know for that long a period. When we called Brad he promptly returned our call and explained that he would be able to give us an appraisal on the spot and even show us the diamond's special features under his jeweler's microscope and explain their impact on value. We set an appointment for the next day at Brad's office. When we met him he studied the ring, showed us its special features, explained to us the GIA grading system showed us his calculations, and gave us his certified Graduate Gemologist signed appraisal on the spot. His price for his service was only slightly more than the other prices we were quoted and we felt it was well worth it since my wife's ring never left our sight. Brad is not engaged in any buying or selling of jewelry so there is no chance of any conflict of interest in his performance of service. On top of everything, Brad is a long-time Reno resident and was a pleasure to talk with. We give him our highest recommendation.
