Tuesday, the 16th, I took a prescription in for new glasses. The prescription needed clarification. The optical staff kept the prescription , said they would call the doctor for clarification. When I returned on Wednesday with a clarification I obtained because I did not trust the staff to follow-up, I was rudely told that nothing had been saved regarding my profile and that the prescription I left was not there. I insisted I saw the prescription being placed in a specific drawer. The staff member said she knew nothing about it. After insisting she look in a specific drawer, of course, my prescription was there. The rest of the visit was downhill... exceptionally indifferent and rude. The other 3 staff members there had nice interactions with customers.First and last time I will ever get glasses at Costco on Harvard.

Sometimes you have to judge people on how they handle it when they make a mistake. (Maybe it depends a little on the kind of mistake, sure.) But when it's the kind of mistake anyone could make, whether the person owns it or tries to avoid accountability can tell you a lot.Anyway, somebody screwed up by putting a minus sign somewhere where there should have been a plus sign. I'm pretty sure it was the actual DO, not one of the opticians, but it doesn't matter because everyone involved owned it, acknowledged the error, and made fixing it it as easy as possible. My glasses got made wrong because of the honest error. (I've made worse.) Nobody gave me any BS and they fixed it. Refreshing. It's also true that prices and service here are generally very good to excellent.

The optometry department itself is great, always very helpful and friendly. The doctor and his receptionist i was mot impressed with, they hurried to get me in and out despite me voicing ahead of time that i had concerns i’d like to address, and gave me the wrong prescription. When i tried to call the admin to remedy this, i was told repeatedly i would be called back and the call was never made despite my many attempts to fix the situation. I will not be returning to this costco eye doctor

They are great for finding out what your prescription is. But for ordering glasses, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Their selection is very limited and bad options. I found not one set of frames I liked.

I haven’t had a chance to see the doctor. But their receptionists do awful work. They are not on the same page. I was in Costco on Thursday and I tried to get my eye exam but receptionist told me that they are booked for that day. Later on Thursday I called them and tried to schedule my appointment for Friday. I was told that on Fridays they have walk ins only. So I don’t need to make an appointment. I came to Costco today, on Friday just for exam and the same receptionist who O dealt with on Thursday told me that they are booked. When I told her about my call, she replied that it was a different receptionist and she cannot do anything for me. One time she suggested to se the doctor- at 2 pm was not good for me.I am wondering how they can work with such knowledge of office policies.

Strictly a 5-star review for Dr. Winkleman! I have been going to him for over 10 years and he is the only individual I trust with my vision needs. He's thorough, patient, kind, and personable.I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an optometrist.

Finally got a new pair of glasses after a few years. Mind you, my prescription is baaaad and I have high astigmatism.. I wanted to look like my mama in the 90s with these cuuuttee rose gold round frames. I’m so blind that these lenses touch my cheeks. THANK GOODNESS for Rose and Denise. They helped me multiple times and I know if I need any more adjusting, they’ll happily do it for me. They don’t touch my cheeks anymore!!!! ???

They refuse to answer their phone. The ‘admin’ in this particular store is rude about it and not helpful in the slightest bit. I want a simple question answered and the expectation is that I will drive down there to ask it? What about social distancing? Not a concern apparently. The message they play you before you are transferred to them talks about “special hours” for people who have auto immune issues and are afraid of COVID, but have a policy not to answer their phone? My mind reels at the ignorance. I’ve gotten several pairs of glasses over they years from Costco, but not anymore. Plenty of places want my business that will actually answer the phone.

Lori was incredibly helpful! She saved me! I am visiting town from another state and I totally forgot to pack my contact lenses. After verifying that I have a current prescription, she was able to wrangle up some contacts for me, even though it’s a brand they don’t typically carry. I am so grateful!

Penny helped me purchase contacts. Very professional and efficient. She deserves a raise for dealing with the rude, entitled people I witnessed interacting with her.
