I thoroughly enjoyed working with Bryan and the staff at Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda. They made the car buying experience a pleasant one. I feel like I got a great car at a fair price. I have purchased several cars in my life and I honestly feel this was my favorite car buying experience.

Steve and Dolan Auto have always taken great care of me and my care. Steve answers my questions patiently and clearly, I don't know much about cars! I don't feel like I'm getting price gouged either. Thank you for always taking care of me!

I had submitted a reimbursement request with the service department 6 months ago. I am trying to reach out to the Mazda service manager for last 2 months and i was not able to reach out to them. every time i call, they will say service manager is busy and i will recieve a call back but i was not called even 1 time in the last 2 months. Frustrated with their customers relationship.Update- After 3 months from the original reviewI called the service manager and he asked for some documents and i sent and it’s been 3 months already nothing changed. Not even an email reply, by the way we are nearing 1year anniversary since this initial request was placed. What a pathetic customer service.

I had a great purchase experience at Tom Dolan’s Reno Mazda a couple weeks ago we purchased the new CX – 90 PHEV. A couple people we would like to highlight in our experience are Aiden, Louis, and Steven, who helped us overall with the car purchase experience. Also, everyone really was very nice and helpful. Aiden was really helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicle and kind in his sales approach which I especially appreciated.

I truly appreciate the honesty. I brought my car in for a transmission flush because I was told I needed one on a previous visit. The person who told me that was going by date and not mileage. Steve told me I did not need I did not need it right now. I did not have enough miles on my car for that. He saved me a lot of money. The work was done sooner than estimated which is also greatly appreciated.

Initially a good experience. Test drove and loved the car I bought. Though the staff doesn’t make commission, I felt a certain degree of pressure to buy that day and buy the packages, but stayed in my comfort zone. The process had me waiting for long periods of time, and even though Dolan used the same bank I’d been pre-approved by, I received a second credit hit. Following that, I provided all the necessary information, and left the dealership having purchases the car. However, after returning to pick it up about 4 days later (it needed to be detailed and had a crack in the windshield that needed to be repaired), I discovered that the windshield hadn’t been fixed. I needed the car, so I drove it anyways, but let them know. After reaching out about the still-present damage, I was told to send over more information, and then they’d fix it. Still that didn’t seem to be enough because they asked for more information and more signatures, over the span of erratic text messages. Then, when I set aside a day to register the car, I discovered I was not given all the documentation necessary to do so, and they still haven’t sent it over.I left the dealership feeling I’d been taken care of, but now feel like I’ve been jerked around quite a bit. It seems that the people who sold me the car missed a lot, or are pressuring me to give them more information.

Well...the people are super nice, however, my appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and when I asked how long (oil change) they said 3 hours! I asked why so long (it was actually closer to 4 hours) they said, "our crew goes on lunch at 11:30 so there won't be anyone to work on your car". WHAT? Can't they stagger the breaks?? So...not sure why they schedule appointments around lunch when, apparently, no one is working!

This is my 2nd visit here since moving to Nevada and both times I received exceptional service. Aaron was my service advisor and he is wonderful. Very friendly and easy to talk to. My only complaint would be they really need to open up some Saturday hours. Its really hard for me to schedule during the week.

I posted this on Yelp, as well, and if you go there, you'll see the actual honest reviews of recent from disappointed customers, not the inflated ones posted here (probably by the business itself).Three years living in Reno, I always need a nap after getting work done at Dolan. They're exhausting, even before you get in the door to have your vehicle worked on.Let me preface with some of the previous visits before concluding with this week's quasi-entertaining final straw.- basic service is expensive, and their prices aren't listed anywhere. That alone should tell you something. No upfront costs.- per the dealer cliché, they are always trying to upsell. I change my own air filters, but when I last brought my vehicle in, they suggested I get my filters changed. I literally did that the day before, so either they didn't even bother to look at them before making their recommendation, or they looked and hoped that I wouldn't know the difference. Probably a standing order in their office: always recommend to change air filters!!! Would you like fries with that??- communication is horrible, the latest example is seen below.- you never see them do the actual work, so 0% transparency. They said I needed a belt replaced, which I agreed to, but I asked to see the old one so I could understand why. They said sure. But then, that mechanic had gone home for the day, what a coincidence, so they couldn't find my belt to show. How about that.- I decline the free car wash because it always comes back with dirt and soap streaks all over the back. Sometimes free costs you more time than it's worth, but it tells you a little more about their attention to detail.- contrast this and more with the Vegas Mazda dealer where I bought my CX5, where I have always been happy with their service, and who 3yrs later still call and email me with updates on my vehicle's needs and offers for service. So it's not MAZDA...it's this Dolan service department, which I see gets other negative reviews on the regular. Finally, here is this week's final straw:I was calling to make a reservation for routine service (oil change, tire rotation, etc.). I contact Reception, because in any other business in existence, Reception is where you make appointments.Instead, reception transfers me to their Service Department.Service answers. "Oh, you need our Scheduling Department." Good lord. They transfer me to "Scheduling."It rings and rings. Finally someone answers, the third person I've been in contact with since beginning this stupid game of tag. How do they answer?"Hello?" the most bored semi-Roz from MonstersInc voice ever. No name, no department ID. So I respond in kind, "yes? hello?"Whoever it is gives an odd chuckle, like they're in on some game that I'm not aware I'm playing, and they ask, "what number are you calling from?"I give up. I tell them I've been kicked around 3 different times while trying to make a routine oil change appointment, and it concluded with this unprofessional chuckle, no identification or greeting, and a bizarre question; exasperated, I'll take my business elsewhere. I suspect they don't know how their phones work and so the person answering assumed I was a coworker calling from another department. Perhaps the Department of Departments under Departments?Anyway, that's that. I went elsewhere for my oil change and tire rotation. Saved a lot of money and hassle in the process. I'm sure I'll have to go back to the dealer at some point for some thing, but hopefully it won't be anytime soon. Do better, Dolan

I purchased a used 2020 Mazda CX-5 from Dolan Mazda in Reno in May of 2023. Mr. Angel Ramirez was a helpful and excellent sales person who told me to contact him if I had any issues or questions. A car checkup at Auto Zone indicated a problem with my alternator. I contacted via email Mr. Ramirez who responded promptly on his day off. He made sure that my CX-5 got right in for a check up and there was no problem with my car. I received a video of the check up from the service department showing the testing and results. Excellent work all around Dolan Mazda with a special shout out to Mr. Ramirez.

We have a CX9 with fewer than 9k miles on it. Supposedly under warranty. We had a tire blow out on the highway, and we were told it may need a rim and who knows what else and the warranty wasn't going to cover anything. Apparently Mazda considers this 'normal wear and tear' after 9k miles (with one rotation).

Dolan Mazda has maintained my 2020 Mazda 3 since I bought it used. I have been very happy with their service until yesterday when I called in to get an appointment to have my regular oil change. I was informed that the first appointment that was available for an oil change was in October! That's a 6 week wait, which is just ridiculous. This begs the question, how could I possibly buy my next Mazda at this dealership if they will not be available to maintain the car after purchase. Sorry, but this reflects poorly on the dealership and is just not acceptable.

We bought two Mazda's from Dolan Mazda and had a great experience! The sales and finance team are great! However, on the flip note, the SERVICE DEPARTMENT needs serious customer service training or employees that want to work with the public. The first 5K service was standard and nothing to brag about. Fast forward to the 10K service, we dropped off one of our Mazda's, and the reception/service girl has no customer service skills whatsoever! Wow! We have had our dealings with her previously, and gave her some slack (perhaps a bad day), but nothing has changed with her skills. My husband comes from 38 years of managing car dealerships and I have previous experience with customer service in the retail business and she NEVER made eye contact. She has no customer service skills whatsoever and honestly, should be in a filing room FILING by herself! The other service writer next to her, has no customer service skills either. My husband tried to have a conversation with him, yet he never looked up from his computer. I am sorry - but are we bothering you both with our business? I am rather easy-going, and yet I was beyond annoyed with their attitude towards us. I asked for an appointment for our other Mazda which she gave three weeks out. Never mind - I will take my service elsewhere! We will not take our vehicles back to Dolan Mazda again for service. I will drive an hour out of my way not to return. And trust me, word of mouth is KEY in the retail business. No thank you Dolan Mazda Service Department!

I booked an appointment for the servicing few days ago, but I still had to wait 3 hours. I dropped my car off at 10:30AM and I received it at 1:45PM. The wait was too long, but other than that everything was fine.
