Great Basin is a great place to bank and offers most of the same services & benefits of most banks with friendly personal service! Everyone should pull their accounts out of the big banks and move to credit unions. Credit unions offer the same deposit protection and tend to invest more into the local economy than big banks, which tend to invest in big corporations including big oil. It may be a hassle but it's well worth your time!

Typical shared branch transaction... nothing really special about the branch that screamed "I want to be a member of Great Basin." Requirements for a high interest rate are similar to the much larger Greater Nevada CU.

This BANK is so far from what a credit union should be. This is a shiesty bank with bad hours, bad locations, a glitchy gaudy app, and god-awful service. There is no sense of 'membership' or any sort of indication that this institution is anything more than a self serving diminutive Bank of America wannabe. They do not have your best interest at heart... but they do you have you assets in their pockets. These people are nothing more than impersonal, greedy, smiling crocodiles....

I would give them a 10 but you don't have a star for that. Every time I have entered this branch these ladies have been so nice to me and so helpful. I've been coming here since 1993 and only this one and have never walked away without them helping me with whatever I ask them to never a rolling of the eyes once. If you know what I mean. This week I came in and Tauna ,helped me out with what I needed. And in the past so has Shelby , Davia I would recommend ? this branch to anyone who is looking for friendly helpful people and Compassionate too thank you for all of the years ?

3 stars for automated servive .I have submitted my application with co-signer online for car loan . Due to covid 19 2020 my self employed work history was haulted .I prefer talking with a banker in person I'm making an appointment because an automated service cant comprehend real life situations. Previous business with this branch has always been approved and out come of refinances and loans were positive out comes.People vs automated service people win unanimously

Let me start by saying I've been a customer for a long time with this credit union. I don't know what's going on but customer service is not their strong point. I got an email for my car loan basically saying they will charge me $2,000 for insurance and this is final notice....I never received anything prior. Plus it was dated last month so I was late to respond. What the heck?? So I tried calling but couldn't get thru to a live person. Tried online chat but she blamed me for not understanding the letter even tho I stated it word for word. And she kept adding "as I said before" as if I didn't have the intelligence to understand her. I emailed and got her again!! This time she said, oh that cpi was cancelled. When I asked her what cpi was...again "with as I said" it was cancelled so you don't have to worry about paying $2,000. I don't know if she was too young to be kind or what but I don't feel anyone should be treated in that way. I am very seriously thinking about a new place to manage my money.

I've been with this credit union for decades. I live in Sparks and have had a car loan through them as well as years of banking experience with my local branches. I've never experienced negative customer service with them. They have always addressed specific needs that I have had over the years when my other credit union ( employee direct deposit) was unable to accommodate me or just refused because they didn't have the expertise or desire to research it. I can't speak for everyone else's experience, but overall I would rate them as one of the better credit unions in town as far as customer service. I haven't had a car loan with them for years but know from personal experience that whether it is a car loan, personal loan or home loan that there are many hoops to jump through no matter who is doing the loan for you.

Worst customer service apply for auto loan 2 weeks ago send them everything they ask never call me back and when I call for update they give me all kind of excuses if your buying private party car for get it I been in car sales for 18 year never had this kind of customer service is like they don’t want to make money I been a member for a while with another car loan but will never used them for a car loan there many choices the manager should really look I. To this I wasted and they wasted more of our time back and forth with and still not anwser I will be happy to share the interaction on the phone with them president of the company should be made aware of this asap

I have had a good experience banking here. Everyone who works here is delightful and so helpful. However, I was charged a foreign transaction fee of $75 after buying airline tickets. The price was shown on the website in dollars. There was no way I could have known about the fee. They called me twice and put too holds on because of the high amount, but the people who called did not tell me about the fee. So even though there is no way to tell if something is a foreign transaction, it is possible to be charged a fee.

I've been with Great Basin for about 8 years now. Always paid my car and loan payments on time and never had any issues. Since Covid I've been struggling to say the least and ONE late payment was all it took for Great Basin to become the most scandalous people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. ONE late payment for my car in 8 years and they have since charged me over $1000 in made up fees and now my entire paycheck, over $900 and are now ignoring my calls and putting me on hold if I call them. I would think being with them for so long and never asking for anything would make them willing to work with me but no, they instead decide to make a rough situation even worse by literally stealing every penny I had to my name. They don't even bother pretending they're not, they just steal everything right in front of you and then laugh, knowing there's nothing you can do about it.
