Staff there is attempting to be more visible, was asked numerous times by different staff, if I found the items I was seeking.

I ordered an item that will be curbside pickup. I used the HD app to let them know that I’m there to pickup the item. Waited for 30 minutes and no one came. I went inside the store. The first response was she was sorry because they are busy and short of help. I was offered to talk to the supervisor. But the supervisor told me that she was busy. I asked them if someone can help me carry my item. They said they could not help me because again they are short for help. I carried my item, no cart offered, to my truck. And that is what they call Home Depot curbside pickup.

Out of two delivery orders I’ve placed at this Home Depot, I’ve had 0% successful deliveries.
My delivery got pushed because “the wrong type of truck” showed up for the order. Customer service told me I could pick up, and spent a half hour at customer service only to be told they real reason the couldn’t hit delivery was that no one actually picked the product for the truck.
Nothing but poor customer service and lies. Zero stars.

When Home Depot first opened, it was a place you could count on for expert guidance and quality materials, like a modern extension of the classic mom-and-pop hardware stores that formed the backbone of our communities. Back then, the aisles were full of seasoned professionals, people who moonlit there because they had real-world experience and knew the ins and outs of home improvement, contracting, and the trades. You could go in with a question or problem and feel confident you’d get an answer from someone who’d actually handled those same issues on real job sites. There was a sense of pride in the store, and you felt like you were buying not just materials, but also expertise.
Fast-forward to today, and that essence has largely disappeared. Walking through the store now, you find a very different experience. The people working there are often young, inexperienced, or just lack the fundamental knowledge about the products they’re selling. It’s not uncommon to ask a question and get a blank stare or be directed to Google it instead. This is particularly frustrating when dealing with specialty tools, building materials, or electrical components—items that can be confusing or even unsafe if used incorrectly. There's a noticeable absence of knowledgeable advice, and the personalized help that once set Home Depot apart has been replaced by a one-size-fits-all attitude.
A lot of this can be chalked up to broader retail trends. Many of the "big box" stores, Home Depot included, seem to be cutting corners on staff training and experience, leaning heavily on part-time or under-trained employees to manage complex inventories. It feels like the company has shifted its focus more on the bottom line than on customer satisfaction, which is unfortunate for those of us who actually rely on these stores for more than just basic DIY supplies.
It’s sad to see because hardware stores used to be places where knowledge was passed down. You could stop by for a simple purchase and end up with a tip or technique that made all the difference in your project. Now, unless you already know exactly what you need, navigating Home Depot can feel more like a frustrating treasure hunt, with little to no support from the staff.
The products themselves are still decent, and Home Depot remains a convenient stop for basics. But for anything beyond the ordinary, be prepared to fend for yourself—or risk getting bad advice. I, like many others, miss the days when you could walk in, ask questions, and walk out with the confidence that your project was in capable hands. For those of us who care about quality work and meaningful customer service, Home Depot just isn’t the store it used to be.

I don’t need to be shown where the receipt is while at self check out. Relax 2 more seconds wouldn’t kill anyone waiting in line.

Yes, as I understand the corporate that owns HD owns the competitor so it's on them to take responsibility for their standing in terms of breaking themselves up.
Ha! Say ye and they as the money speaks louder than cries of injustice as it has since the beginning of the centralized greed funnel paradigm.
That's changing lads & lasses so why not be ahead of the trend and be one of the first to make the shift?
NEVERMIND, I gotta "honeydew" prevailing any cosmic economic equity concern. I best be in the present moment and address the desires of my QUEEN!
Today, water pump for her very important "mountain waterfall" project flowing regenerative life and wealth properties into the pool at our front door.
As ancient Chinese Feng Shui indicates life functions upon the understanding that life's outcomes are dependent upon our efforts in the "mundane" (design and scope of the work, digging dirt, prying out rocks, making mountains and rivers that flow to a pond deep enough for goldfish.) and the "subtle"

Stunningly awful customer service. The other Home Depot stores in the area have improved in the past year or so, but not this one. Uninformed employees that avoid customers. Go elsewhere.
