My son moved out here to Reno ,,,so we went out to checking out the town,,while this was one of them... the hospitality was amazing ,,They explain so much to us. awesome people like this make you wanna move out here ,,,they didn't judge my appearance, they treated me like they treat everybody else ,,I usually get judged because the way I look, but this place I definitely will be back when I come to visit my son.

Went in looking for a handgun and the guy at the counter was most helpful. I tried several guns out to try and figure out which one would fit me best. I did notice the price were a bit higher than other spots in town. But the helpful service was very much appreciated. I been to several other locations and this was the first person who showed me the best way to hold the handgun. Most of my experience was back in the 80's where we were taught to cup the gun with one hand cupping the other under the grip. He showed me a better way to keep the gun tight so it won't sway to the side. This store did have lots of guns to look at and many more rifles. We mostly own rifles and may want to upgrade in the future. And they seem to have lots of inventory to include fishing gear. We do that on occasion too. Overall, good experience.

Well first time going to this place and last time. Customer service sucks, walked in to three ladies behind the counter talking, I said hi and they all completely ignored it. Kept on talking and ignoring me. Anyways walked to the gun section and looked around not too busy but too busy for any employee to come ask if I needed help. Literally there were numerous employees behind the counter and walking around not one said honor can I help. One last thing the prices on the weapons are ridiculously high, I am all about supporting local shops but F these guys. I will be taking my money to “right to bear arms” or another local shop.

I'm probably wasting my time BUT. I have been a long time customer, born and raised in the north valleys. I have always had a great experience with the staff and products. I've purchased many items from fishing equipment to snow shoes. Also bought firearms. Spent I'm guessing easily 10+thousand dollars over my adult life. And the last time I went in to purchase a Christmas gift for my wife, unfortunately will probably be the last time I buy anything there...? I ordinarily don't get bent out of shape over sales people, this time I attempted to buy a ruger 10/22. It's an inexpensive .22 plinking rifle that my wife has wanted for a while. The short chubby bald sales guy who I've seen for years but never personally bought anything from told me he didn't have the color combo she liked in stock. (Ok, no big deal.)So he said he would check online for me to see if we could get it by Christmas.( Ok, great.) So I continued shopping. I was browsing through the firearms section, patiently waiting for the answer. He helped another customer look at a gun.( No biggie) he helped a second customer. (Now I'm wondering if he's still interested in helping me?) I stop browsing and stand near the counter out of the way of other shoppers but in the front and in plain view. Here is the point that I realized I'm wasting my time. He helps another person... The rifle I wanted was apparently not worth his effort and time. They are usually busy so I can be patient. And the old guy I ordinarily deal with was busy complaining about the covid vaccine with another old guy, so. I guess what I'm trying to get at is it doesn't really feel like it has previously? Meaning it used to be a local shop that values your business and time. I wasn't looking for something expensive. But my time is just as valuable as anyone. I was waiting for approximately 30min. And when I was leaving he was helping another customer. So, I made my purchase elsewhere. I had to order the rifle and it should be here for Christmas luckily. I bought it at another locally owned store because that's what I like to do if possible.

Terrible place. The prices are gouged, so much for supporting your local if they're ripping you off. They don't take accountability if they mess up or if they can't fix your rifle they'll say it's your fault, they don't make you feel good about the situation at all. When you leave the store you feel like you just got ripped off, kind of makes you want to go back and return the stuff and then go to a different place and get double the stuff and same brand for the same price. This is one local place I will not go to or recommend for anybody. If you can't fix it, don't touch it. It's that simple and is much more easy to appreciate a business when you get your item, returned the way that you gave it to them versus it being in worse condition then when you took it there. So if you do go get your rifle repaired there for some reason , I suggest you take before photos. For if they do leave it in worse condition, you can show them. No I did not do this to my rifle. You did this, they don't take accountability. That's just not good business we all make mistakes.

These guys bought out all the black powder percussion caps they could get their hands on, they emptied the shelves at the local Scheels, as well as online, and are now selling each tin for double the price. Are these the type of people you want to do business with?

Excellent Service, knowledge, & expertise on all firearms they carry, then some. I bought 3 boxes of .270 win short mag for the upcoming season (around $80 a box) and realized later my rifle wasn't a .270 WSM but a normal .270 & they let me trade in the ammo in for the correct .270 I needed. Not saying they would do this for you but, as expensive as the rounds are... I appreciated them even considering exchanging the munitions, then to actually exchange it... 10/10 would recommend Marks

I can't say enough good things about MFS! First of all they have a massive inventory with a wide variety of guns, ammo, fishing equipment and much more! Knowledegable, friendly, and very helpful staff. I will gladly pay a little more for their product and support a family owned business.Shopping at big-box sporting good stores can be mind numbing, ranging from weak advice, and up-selling from not-very knowlegeable low-paid unfriendly employees.I will continue to do business at Mark Fore Strike :)

I didn't check a bag and I ended up sad and knifeless in Tahoe. :( After scouring the internet for knives stores and several failed trips we finally decided to make our way to Reno and check these guys out and I am so glad we did. This is a family-run business with a huge selection of knives, firearms, fishing equipment, and more.
