Terrible staff not supportive AT ALL of how their own circuit room operates! Frustrating as people from the non circuit area will hop on one machine disrupt the circuit progression That you are trying to complete according to theur own directions posted on the wall!! The circuit room is one the best features that this no frills gym offers and staff does not orient new members OR fellow employees of how the room works!! Speaking of the South Virginia location managed by Jenny. I have quit my membership.

I canceled my membership three months ago due to working out of town and the the closest Planet Fitness to me is three hours away so when I got back home from working out of town, I was gonna start my membership again and I just noticed that they never stopped taking out the money my membership is still active and there's no managers on the weekends only Monday through Friday they told me I need to come in to cancel my membership. I told them that that's what I did the first time. I'm also out of town. How am I gonna know me coming in for a second time You really aren't gonna keep pulling out money? Of course, when I canceled it was someone new like it is every single week because they go through people like crazy literally it's someone new every single week. I've been going to this gym for years, but after this, I definitely don't wanna even start my gym membership back up because this is actually fraud and it's stealing and if this isn't fixed, I am gonna be getting the police involved. It's really upsetting that they can just keep taking out money, even though you canceled your membership and went about it the right way. By the reviews, I am definitely not the first person this has happened to.

Serious security concerns in this gym. My locker was broken into in the men's locker room but nothing was stolen since I hadn't kept anything valuable in there. I was suspicious that it was the only guy who was sitting in the locker room when I was locking up at the beginning of my workout. I told one of the shift leads about the incident and he noted all the details. He also showed me the picture of a guy when I told him about my suspicion and I confirmed he was the guy in the locker room at the time. Apparently this guy also had a history of shoplifting from the Walgreens next door. Since there are no cameras in the locker rooms the shift lead said the manager would look into people who walked out of the men's locker room (there's a camera right outside the locker room) and I was asked to come back the next day. I called the next evening and was told the manager had left for the day, and when asked to inquire about whether he had looked into my incident, I was told that he hadn't even seen the camera footage. I cancelled my membership because it showed a disregard and lackadaisical approach towards the safety and security of the gym members. If you think you'll get any better treatment if you're a Black Card member, I assure you that you won't, since I was one and the manager didn't even care enough to investigate.

Planet fitness is a Judgement gym! I usually don't use this gym but I got a membership so my husband and I could workout together at any time. They have a giant sign that says Lunk alarm which is so hypocritical to there whole "judgement free zone" phrase. Swipe to see the sign and read the judgement. If you grunt because you are hitting a new PR and need that last rep, GRUNT AWAY! I'm proud of you and glad you're at the gym. You have a gallon water bottle because you want to drink more water each day, great job, glad you're here! You want to wear a muscle shirt because you're proud of your hard work, you go girl or nice job man! I'm not going to sound a giant alarm! This was disgusting to see. @planetfitness stop judging!

Horrible business practices. I quit my old gym and signed up for this location 3 or 4 years ago (before it actually opened) because it's around the corner from my house and the price was fair (for what it offered). Initially I chose the black card membership ($20/month) but downgraded to the basic membership ($10/month) the following year as the massage chairs and red light therapy was a gimmick and a pain to use with their lame token system. For the last 3 years, I've been more or less content with the basic amenities of this no frills gym. Staff has been friendly and an acceptable percentage of equipment was maintained. Til now, I had no reason to search for another gym (other than finding one with a sauna or spa); however, as of Jan 1 2025, I have decided that Planet Fitness is no longer to be trusted or respected as a business. As mentioned earlier, I have been a loyal member since prior to their actual opening. First year, month to month black card, next 2 years month to month basic, but last year was talked into pre-paying for the full year by the staff. They said that management was pushing a special where they waived the annual enrollment fee and lowered the total to $99/year as a 'reward' for paying for a full year membership up front. I told staff that I was good with the month to month membership that I currently had as I liked my price and didn't want to lose it. Staff assured me that I would not see an increase and would be grandfathered into my current price of $10/month whether I continued month to month or prepaid for the year. So, reassured, I agreed and paid the annual fees up front as they advised. When my annual dues expired at the end of 2024, staff informed me that my only option to renew now is to fork over an outrageous additional 50% increase per month ($15/month AND a $49 annual activation charge). An extra $130 more than what I was charged for last year! If I had stayed on the $10/month plan I was on before they persuaded me out of it last year, I would have been grandfathered into the same $10/month rate without the increase. But instead, I'm punished for following their advice and paying them a years dues upfront with a ridiculous and predatory price increase, rather than being rewarded for paying up front and being a loyal customer. Unbelievable. On top of all of this, I come to find out that they only offered the slightly discounted upfront annual deal last year and will not be doing it this year... It seems that the greedy corporate execs implemented the annual plan last year specifically to trick their loyal members so that they could cut us out of a cheaper grandfathered rate under false promises of being able to maintain that price. Total bait and switch. Pretty despicable. Because of this, I am searching for a more honest gym and will gladly pay more for additional amenities. It's better than being strong armed by a lying greedy corporation that doesn't value its members or their loyalty.

Shout out to manager Ben and his staff for keeping the gym super clean. Also, when you walk in you always get a warm welcome along with a warm goodbye greeting.

Presently have 4 'sit up' (vs reclining) exercise bikes. 3 are out of order. Two have been out of order for at least 3 months.

Avoid this location and ALL Planet Fitness's. You go to cancel and they seem to make it super easy...yet, they don't stop charging your card. There is no number to call...and the number you call no one answers (each time I have called). I am now having to dispute charges with my bank. Such a hassle but typlical of chain style gyms.

Avoid this location and all others. Never join. Cause once you want cancel, you never will get them from stop charging you. I am having to call my bank, like others have said, to dispute the charges. They said I cancelled but they continue to charge. While I'm at it....everything about this location sucks. Avoid at all costs.

Impossible to cancel my membership. Got a confirmation via email that I cancelled. Disputing charges with my bank now since they apparently make it so the staff can't even cancel the membership. If it can't be resolved I will have to seek professional advice as after going in person to cancel, I'm still signed up and active/paying. No term length to the contract, I checked.

I've been a member for two years. They would receive 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't for the stench and disgusting showers. I've asked them to address the issue to no avail. I sent messages via their website to no avail. They obviously don't care. You can even see a layer of dust on the ductwork. Maybe some public humiliation and they'll do something? Lunk award goes to..... oh wait, sorry, this is a no judgement zone. This picture is from a month ago. I was in yesterday and nothing has changed. Yikes!

This location is good and gives you the basic necessities for most workouts. It depends on what time you go, but access and wait time for machines isn't bad. To the managers, please give Sophia a raise! For the first time in years, she's the only one I've seen who actually cleans the gym (while I'm there) and she has an amazing attitude and attends each member question with kindness. My 5 star rating is really because of her. Other Planet Fitness locations can offer better machines and more space, but employees like her are so very valuable and make coming to this specific gym enjoyable.

Overall plenty of equipment & space to break a sweat. There is some equipment PF doesn't have- that I notice other gyms have & benefit more from. Most importantly- the fountain water source could use an upgrade.
