Not even open?

It’s not open???? After accidentally going to the old location by the mall I double backed over here to shop and sell some clothes and they’re literally not open despite being open on Google. Very disappointing and the location is very inconvenient to get to.

Their Google Profile says they are open at a new location. I go to that location, and their storefront is literally boarded up. I go to their old location near the mall, and their sign is torn off. No one answers the phone when you call. I eventually got ahold of someone at the Carson City location who told me that they should be at the new location. The new location is not open. No windows, no doors. Construction tape up everywhere. This is not the first time that this Plato’s Closet gives false info about location hours.

If I could give a zero I would. They pick and choose what days they do buys now that they have new ownership. When discussing this with the manager after carrying in all my items she was beyond rude and had horrible customer service. Also every employee is of one race there is no diversity. I would NEVER recommend as they skimp on the price when doing buys anyways. Must more beneficial to donate to a women’s shelter! If you notice every review since new ownership has taken over has been a 1.

Extremely disappointed that I was given a gift card from another Plato's closet and upon check out, was told that they do not accept them from other Plato's Closets. The clerk called Raysa, the manager, who informed her to just apologize and did nothing and again, said we don't take them, even mentioning that corp. was aware of the situation. Yet, online it states valid at all locations, on the back of the card it indicates the same. The clerk went as far to explain that they don't even take cards from the next city over, yet the cards states, "All locations". The overall response was best of luck while there were several teens running in and out of the back office and laying on top of the counter.

kept posting on social media they were closing until midnight due to a “new years clean out”. Couple people and myself included were stopped at the door with it being closed at 11. Shouldn’t bother promoting the “close until 12” if cut off is at 11 and then won’t bother updating on the socials.

The people working there always have attitude especially when you just want to sell your clothes. The offers they give you are extremely cheap when they have everything ranged at 15 and up

I have come to this store multiple times and they constantly have some sort of excuse why we can’t use gift cards, or the sales are poorly worded to trick those coming in.This company has gone down hill and I’m ready to see new management

Last week I took a few things in to sell through Plato's Closet Reno. I had to leave my items in a bin and return when I am told they are through looking at my sale items. I returned later that day and waited in a longish line again, sold 2 things to them and took the rest home. When I got home and started putting unsold items away I noticed one item was not purchased Or returned to me. It happened to be the ONLY Brand New sweater, still in original unopened plastic bag with tags still visibly still attached. A $39.90 gray sweater, long sleeved with a vee neck. So I immediately called the store, they do not answer the phone listed in their ads and the mail box is full. I am not surprised by the way they do business I am sure no one wants to take calls from unhappy customers. I drove to the store and they assured me they did not have my sweater. The manager half assed looked around behind the counter and in a couple bins. She said sorry nothing they can do, I insisted she look further and supplied her with a photo of the sweater in package. She said to come back the next day and she would look at the camera footage in the back room. So far I had made 3 round trips to that dirty little store and she tells me to come back again? I live up Mount Rose Highway toward Tahoe, I have already spent more in gas than I would have received if they had bought the sweater. So I tried to call again the following day and again no answer. Seller BEWARE, not only do they offer pennies on the $$ for your items they steal from you. My other 2 worn one time sweaters were returned to me, I would bet (since my brand new sweater would not fit anyone in that store, too small!) they just took it back to Macy*s for a full refund. I have been in thrift stores that are nicer than this place and they plan to move to Mid Town, Ha, good luck with that. Its is one thing to offer pennies for nice things but to out right steal an item? I had never been in there before and did not think I had to worry about missing items and I should have checked my items before I left. WOW just read some of the other reviews, should have come to Yelp first and saved my sweater and gas money, also should have been a Mexican, then I may have been treated nice. I too had to wait in a long line only to be told I had to wait in a different line!! ***Reminder to self**** Always go to Yelp before trying a new venture*** All of these bad reviews were exactly what I thought of this dump when I had to look around for my lost sweater. Dirty smelly pilled soiled and stained clothing! Thrift stores are much cleaner.

Stopped by to check out what was out on the racks. It has been a while since I have stepped foot inside a Plato's closet. There was a variety of cool and collective treats and goodies lurking inside. I left without purchasing anything due to lack of time on a lunch break. I definitely will be back and get something's I have been searching for. Looked like there were good deals on some brands I like.

I am an autistic adult. I am also a reseller online. I looked up what items brands and styles were being bought back before rE-washing my inventor, folding it and having my husband drive me from Lake Tahoe to this location. (my disability precludes me from driving. and I walk with a cane) There was a person who drug dirty unfolded clothing in a trash bag in front of me but was wearing fancy designer clothing and carried an expensive Gucci purse, who was served without instance. so when the older apparent manager came out to "deal with me." but didn't actually look at any of the merchandise I brought she only looked at my cane and vintage clothing at which point she started asking me if I smoked, did drugs, toke Mariana, which is not only recrrationally legal in the state she was harassing me in, it is a prescribed medication. when I said I took it as a medication because I didn't have my husband with me to stop me from answering these I vasive and illegal question, she pulled the clothing out of the bag I had it packed in for the first time, waved it around in my face, told me it stunk, and that I was stinking up the building. a building that was quite literally making me I'll to stand inside due to the excessive chemical air freshener smell. she yelled at me as I gathered my things and barely made it out the door before collapsing on the ground outside in a blackout due to her abuse. I had to be helped back to the car by my husband even with my mobili aid, and I have been unable to post this review for months because even thinking of this situation sets off meltdown. Plato's closet is an ableist establishment from the top down. do not visit unless you are rich, which I don't know why you would.
