I really love Pure Barre classes in North Reno. Hannah and Sara, are very great instructors, very friendly and careful too. Diana, the owner and instructor, is the best! In few moths Barre exercises made me very flexible and I gain muscle beyond my expectations.

Don’t give the owner of this place your money. He is a SCAMMER AND A LIAR. He will keep charging you well after you’ve made several attempts to cancel. Is that your business model, Jeff?

Final update: I had filed a complaint with NV Consumer Affairs which I highly recommend when you have no other recourse outside of small claims. Jeff followed up with his employee who admitted that she had mischaracterized my wife, and he reimbursed us today. Though I believe this should have been made right regardless of how cordial my wife was, I'm happy to put this behind us and appreciate the apology.

This review is specifically for Gretchen's Reform class at the NW Reno Studio.I came in for my very first class ever with Pure Barre. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by the friendly staff, including Gretchen. She was very friendly, asked if i've ever been to any Pure Barre studio before. When i said no, she proceeded to make sure i had the right socks, and got me all set up in the studio. She explained the equipment and made sure I was in a spot that I could easily follow along. The class was fun with great music and was a great workout with the ability to cater to your particular level. I would say if you're new to pilates/working out maybe start with their regular class as this probably would have been too strenuous for a total beginner. Gretchen was very positive, encouraging and helpful during the entire class. When we finished she made sure to come up to me to ask how I enjoyed it.Overall, I will definitely be back to take more of Gretchen's classes!! Highly recommend!

Your opinion of a customer's alleged temperament enables you to decide if keeping their money is justified? Is that what you're saying here? Goodness this is going to become costly and messy for you. I'll see to it.You may not be legally obligated (yet), but stealing customer refunds is illegal and the court costs, attorney's fees and diminishment of your business' reputation will be far more costly to you then had you done the right thing in the first place. We will be keeping the local community (your customers) apprised of the small claims progress as it moves along.

Beware of this shockingly dishonest business. They will continue to charge you when you properly request your membership cancelled and will not reimburse the money owed.

Short story:Three weeks ago, the owner of Pure Barre Reno North, Jeff Marr, told my wife that we would be reimbursed $590 as his company had collected automatic payments following the (well-documented) cancelation of her membership. He has yet to send the check he said he would send. Not great business to ignore membership cancelations, collect the automatic payments (post-cancelation), then when discovered only agree to return some of the money, then finally agree to return all of the money which was pocketed for canceled services, and then not make good on your word and keep the money after all.Longer story:While my wife loved her experience with the actual classes and instructors, her schedule didn’t allow her to continue on, so she canceled her membership over the phone (6/10/22) AND by email (6/11/22) AND by follow-up email (6/16/22). I only recently asked her about a charge I noticed that was on my credit card that I didn’t recognize. We came to the realization that the past 14 months had that same charge despite having canceled so long ago. The manager, Caralee acknowledged the emails that my wife had sent canceling, she could also see that she had not been to the gym since canceling and that this issue (as ownership changed around that time) or similar messes have been discovered frequently causing her many headaches. In that conversation, Caralee offered, via Jeff, to give back an arbitrary amount (four of the fourteen months’ payments) but relayed her hands were tied beyond that and directed us to ask VISA or Pure Barre Corporate for the remainder. Both companies, of course, told us that these charges are the local business’ responsibility to return. At this point Caralee relayed that we should pursue small claims court for the remaining ten payments that were not returned. My wife asked to speak to the owner directly. Jeff placed blame on a former employee for the mistake and after a bit of back-and-forth agreed to return the remainder and took down our address to send a check. It has been three weeks and we have not received the check and Pure Barre is not returning our calls. It appears Jeff wants to keep the money after all. Posting the story here on principle-consumers should know when business owners won’t make a clean cut situation like this right.

I feel mentally and physically stronger when doing Pure Barre. The teachers have a specific intelligence around movement and I love the flow I feel when I’m in class.Pure Barre is one of my favorite parts of my schedule. I use it to tone for aesthetics but also for injury prevention for running. It tones all the supporting muscles I need to be strong in competition. Barre has always been my secret weapon for running. When I have taken a break from Pure Barre, before I realized the correlation, I have noticed small aches and injuries. I will never stop doing Pure Barre classes.
