About Reno Philharmonic

The Reno Philharmonic is northern Nevada’s largest performing arts organization, offering a wide range of music from Classical to Pop. In its 50th anniversary season, the orchestra is led by music director Laura Jackson and features over 60 professional musicians who perform more than 30 concerts each year across Reno, Carson Valley, and Lake Tahoe. The organization manages not only the professional orchestra but also a symphonic chorus, four youth orchestras, and various educational and outreach programs. Concerts are well-received, with performances praised for their excellent acoustics, inspiring conductors, and talented musicians. Guest artists often perform signature pieces, and the orchestra's performances, including popular classics like Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, are considered memorable experiences. The Reno Phil’s performances are lively and enjoyable, suitable for date nights or a night out, especially with unique shows like movie screenings with live scores. The organization also offers less traditional programs and music from other cultures, aiming to attract a diverse and younger audience. The Reno Philharmonic’s home is the Pioneer Center, but they also perform throughout the region, adding variety and culture to the local arts scene. Supporters appreciate the friendly atmosphere, good facilities, and affordable ticket prices, making the Reno Phil a valued part of northern Nevada’s cultural landscape.
