I am having a difficult time writing this review because I just feel there are NO WORDS to truly explain how loving, kind, compassionate and professional Dr. Jones, Crystal and all the staff were this week when I found myself in a very scary and heartbreaking situation with my beloved Boston Terrier. When I got home from work my precious best friend was struggling. I made a call to BluePearl knowing I needed help giving him peace. From the phone call to our arrival, we were treated with nothing but the utmost dignity, respect and love. I was counseled in great & gentle detail by various staff members about the entire process and how the staff would assist us in making the last moments of his precious lift peaceful, loving and Godly. The room we were hosted in was private, clean, comfortable and there was no pressure from the staff on how long it took us to say our goodbye. Additionally, I was incredibly impressed on how they assisted me to manage with his final resting arrangements. Thank you all - you were truly a blessing to me & Sammy this week and I am beyond grateful for the love and support you gave to us. May God bless and protect you all! Your work is truly an asset to our community.

Support staff was great, however, our experience with Dr. MacLellan was terrible. We prepared for routine TPLO surgery for our boxer. MD consult confirmed TPLO was necessary during pre-op visit. However, after our dog was under anesthesia he called and suggested TPLO surgery on BOTH knees. We reluctantly agreed thinking he had imaging to support his recommendation. We late found out he did not. Upsell??? Worst decision of our dog's life. For 5 months we voiced concern that our dog's (healthy) knee wasn't healing as expected. The knee originally scheduled for surgery healed fine, the other "healthy" did not. As we worked with the staff to address our dog's continued knee issues, never once did they suggest a broken pin left in during surgery may be the cause. Had they been concerned or paying attention they would have read the medical records where the Dr stated a broken pin was left inside my dog's knee. We sought advice of another vet who consulted with an expert to identify the floating object in leg. It was confirmed to be an anti-rotational pin. Upon review of medical records it was absolutely confirmed. At no time during follow up visits did the Dr. or support staff suggest this may be an issue. Not only did they pressure us to perform surgery on his healthy knee, they messed up during surgery causing harm to the healthy knee. We paid almost 10k for them to fix one knee while simultaneously damaging his otherwise healthy knee. I later found out from our neighbors who also had TPLO surgery at Blue Pearl that they also recommended bilateral TPLO surgery. Smartly they declined. Upselling during surgery should not be allowed but appears to be a common practice here. I would not recommend this place or this surgeon. It costs us thousands more, on top of the 10k to fix the issue they caused. I would not recommend surgery at this facility.

I feel that both the Blue Pearl Hospital and the surgeon Dr. MacLellan were negligent in the post operative care of my dog “Sherpa”. I had repeated ER visits post-surgery costing me thousands of dollars above and beyond the cost of the initial surgery. The travel time, financial hardship, and tremendous stress that my family experienced plus the additional pain and suffering that my dog has endured could have been prevented had antibiotics been prescribed upon discharge from surgery and a follow up visit would have been scheduled with the surgeon or equivalent (since he was on vacation) . The Blue Pearl staff lacks empathy for both the pet and owner. Due to the unwillingness to communicate with me or to follow-up on Sherpa’s condition by both Dr. MacLellan and the Blue Pearl staff, I was forced to seek medical treatment at another hospital 3 hours from my home where Sherpa received the proper, compassionate care that he deserved.***To the response from Blue Pearl-I have tried to speak with your surgeon that preformed his surgery and was told that because I went to another hospital for emergency treatment (#1 you were closed for 2 days & #2 his surgeon was on vacation) that he would not see him, that I needed to go to the other facility that gave him emergency care.

Wouldn't go here! It's a scam. You don't even get to meet or talk to the doctor. They also take for ever!!The doctor has the assistant's do everything. They also take your animal and don't let you go back with them. Fishy fishy!!

The weekend emergency doctor and assistant were both very professional and intuned with our pet's medical situation. All of their advice and the steps they took to remedy our emergency was highly effective and resolved the problem quickly. Our pet is back to his old self again and we are so incredibly pleased and appreciative. Highly recommend Blue Pearl Hospital to anyone with a pet that needs immediate medical care. This is a hospital that you can trust.

Every emergency vet is going to be more pricey than primary vets so don't let that deter you from bringing your pet here. They will be in excellent hands.

The staff and the doctors at Blue Pearl are all top professionals. They took very good care of my dog prior, during, and after his surgery. They all took a serious interest in my pup's well-being and I sincerely appreciate their care and professional approach. The facility is extremely clean with a wide and expansive waiting room which makes the entire experience less stressful. Bliue Pearl has an amazing array of services is the most modern vet facility in the region. Five Stars, for sure!

I took my cat to blue pearl recently for an eye infection, and they were very helpful! Even with two critical patients ahead of us, the staff got me and my cat in and out in roughly an hour and a half. Staff is friendly and made sure to compliment my sweet kitty repeatedly (yes, she is a pretty girl. Thank you for noticing!) They are pricey and do not offer payment plans, but the staff did do their best to work with my budget and let me know costs ahead of time. Ultimately, their services had my cat’s eye looking better within 24 hours. Thank you blue pearl!

No, I needed an emergency hospital for my great Dane that day. I don’t really understand why they have to charge so much. I feel that they take advantage of our love for pets, but so far this is just been a general statement. The folks at blue Pearl were great. They were very helpful. They were very nice And I appreciate all that But still very expensive!
