I'm writing this review on a gas station/mini mart for ONE reason....For the Mexican food, obviously. Sounds weird, but check it out... This unassuming gas station has a small take out only Mexican restaurant inside. While they have a small menu, it covers the gamut of what you'd expect. Tacos, burritos and the like. But as it was morning, and I hadn't yet woken all the way up, I needed breakfast burrito and some spicy salsa. And the one I got was amazing! Just so happens they have a hot stand with some recently made selections, which normally I'm sketch on, but this place? They were so enthusiastic about the food they sell, I had to give the chorizo burrito in the hot case a try. The guy behind the counter was all smiles as he talked about how fresh it was, and gave me a couple spicy salsas. Took it home, unwrapped, and saw this thing was tightly wound and packed, not falling apart. Score! It was double wrapped in both foil and paper, so it held its moisture and heat in. Score!I take a bite - delicious! Chorizo, eggs, taters, peppers, great stuff. The salsa was really good too. Alternating between the green and red kept it interesting, and by the end of it I was completely convinced this place doesn't make "gas station" food. They just make good food, period. If I ordered this at a "restaurant" and they put this burrito in front of me, I'd be happy, straight up no lie. And for $7, not a bad deal either, for what you get. Can't wait to go back and see what else they can knock out of the park!

What a wonderful store with a friendly and helpful staff. They have a wonderful liquor selection, with some great finds due to the passion of the family that works there. A real hidden gem here in Reno!

I know this is called Speedway Food Store, and they also have a gas island, but it could be called Speedway Bottle Shop! The owner appreciates good whiskey and tequila so he has a very impressive small collection of really good stuff. I got a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof from him and those are VERY hard to find. He continues to expand his offerings e.g. Woodinville, Barrel Bourbon, Willett and his pricing is very competitive. I consider him the most honest retailer in town and is the first place I check when I'm looking for a specific bottle. If he does not have it in stock, he tries to find it for me. Highly recommend!

This is a review of the Sinclair station owned by this market with a little love for the market too! This station is now on my regular route home, and since it's locally owned and operated, I'm happy to give them the biz, even if they're a couple cents more. It's a small station with a few pumps but it's not in a main drag so people move through quickly and there's plenty of places to stage while you wait. Heck. If you have to wait a little while you may as well park and go check out the store! This market now has a well deserved reputation for getting their hands on hard to find rare and allocated bourbon and whiskey. The owner is a fan and collector so he knows what to ask for, and the store sells a lot of other beer, wine and spirits, so they are in a great spot to have the goodies! I'm excited to shop here more in the near future. I haven't been buying much lately but once life settles I know I'll be back at it. For now I'll keep getting gas here to support local!
