I was so happy to learn about this Veterinarian. Not only is his office close to my home but when I arrived, a young man opened the door for me and was so sweet. Then after meeting the Dr. and asking 1 million questions, I knew this is who my Bentley would see as long as Dr. Matt Schmitt is in practice. This practice really felt like a family feel, gentle and genuinely wanting to offer the upmost customer service. More than I"ve experienced at any vet office in Reno/Sparks. I am so happy I found this office and look forward to many long years of having this team as my Dog's Doctor. Thank you for an exemplary first experience!

Very accommodating staff. I took my puppy there for his first visit as he had a wounded paw. Doctor had him on track Nd three days later he was back on track, no limping. The entire staff was fantastic with him, as he is very energetic and still a puppy to his core. We have a veterinarian clinic for life!!!

Doctor is very thorough and kind. All of the staff are knowledgeable and accommodating. I love that they open early and I can take my babies in before heading to work.

Dr. Matthew Schmitt has been my older French bulldog’s vet for two years. Frenchies have some unique issues, and Dr. Schmitt understands the breed well. He has dealt with Smokey’s digestive and allergy problems and performed delicate cancer surgery recently, always listening to and fully answeringmy questions and including me in the diagnosis process. The South Reno Veterinary Hospital is a state-of-the-art clinic. Dr. Schmitt and his kind, professional staff are, in my opinion, one of the finest available in our community.

Best first vet experience for new pet owners. Everybody here made us feel so safe and welcome and they were so kind to our kitties! The facility itself felt super homey and they even had separate entrances for cats and dogs! Highly recommend

This vet is very money centric and Not really interested in what you want but more concerned that you conform to the way they want to care for your animals. My second appointment was a complete disaster because the communication was completely one-sided and they did not hear what I was desiring for animal care. The vet was more concerned about getting paid than he was about making the situation better. I would not recommend this vet to anyone I actually recommend that people avoid them if they are looking for empathetic care.

Had the worst experience with these guys and had to share it, I highly recommend you don't do business with these people as their attitude and business practices are terrible. I made an appt. for the new puppy to have shots, first of all they want a hundred dollar deposit up front as a new client before anything. So I paid the 100 bucks and had the appt set, which they told me was Wednesday the 9th. I showed up and they said oh sorry your appt. was yesterday and we can't help you, also you lost your hundred dollar deposit. The lady on the phone had a nasty, condescending attitude when I was only trying to do business with them. She nastily said ok I can get you in Friday at 9am, I told her I had a previous appt. for a hair cut. She then stated I'm not here to accommodate your haircut. These guys suck, their office is sub par, and their attitude is awful towards customers. I called another local vet and was treated with respect and kindness and got a fast appt. with no deposit. Steer clear of these rude people.

Best vet in town hands down!!! We have 3 dogs, once had 4 with them and it’s always beyond pleasant experience. Always accommodating, reasonably priced, awesome staff (Renee rocks) and Dr. Schmitt is amazing! Don’t bother going anywhere else.

Very positive experience today for a first-timer. Needed Parvo shots for my puppy and they had a cancellation and took us the same day. Polite and friendly staff, who were patient and loving with my pet. Super impressed with how long the doctor took to sit with me, answer my questions, and offer sound advice. One of the technicians wore hot pink just like my Nala, so I snapped some photos. We got a gift basket on the way out the door, and i will surely be back. Recommend this clinic!

Haven't had my animal seen here just called for advice about kittens with ring worm and the lady taking calls was extremely rude. I clearly stated I had a question about kittens w ring worm and she asks "well are you a patient here ?" As if I was d*** for wanting a vets opinion and then says she doesn't " just give out medical advice" which is fine - but to have someone talk to you in such a disrespectful manner makes me never want to have my animal be a patient here!!

Dr. Schmitt has always been a pleasure to work with and have provide services for my little pup! He is pleasant, informative and patient which is very important to me as I can often have many questions. Most importantly, he tolerates the anxiety of my little pup as she can be a handful.

Absolutely will never ever go back to this vet, nor will we recommend them to anyone. The first time we did a drop off & understood that our dog would be seen in between appointments. We understood that it could be an all day thing, which it was.We SCHEDULED another appointment for a lite sedation to have a fox tail removed. Not only did they drop the ball on us that we HAD to have labs done, for $119 for a LITE SEDATION PROCEDURE. We were told that she was a scheduled patient, and would not be there as long as she was the last visit. A few hours at most.Dropped her off at 8 am… called at 2:30 to see if she was ready… was told she was not seen yet. They said it should be another hour & that they were getting to her now.No phone call that they were running late. Nothing heard.4:45pm comes around, I go to pick her up, at the time they told me was when they have their patients picked up and she has still not be seen and still has a fox tail in her ear. They said that she was about to be seen… 8 hours later. No thank you! I told them that I’ll pick her up now, I’m not waiting another hour for her to have it taken out. It’s already been 8!I had a cup of water for her when we got out to the car, drank is completely dry. I drive 15 minutes to get home, she runs to the water bowl and drinks that one completely dry.We were charged an additional $25 for “nursing care, daily” fee, to do what? Dehydrate our dog for 8 hours in a kennel. Awesome. This place is a money hungry joke.
