oh man. there were bugs crawling ALL OVER our bathroom, crawling out of the drain, and there were large strands of hair in the toilet?? it’ll do if you can’t afford a snazzier place but not being able to use the bathroom at all without critters interfering was…upsetting.

This hotel charged me an additional $100 in fees upon arrival. I disputed the charge by presenting a receipt showing Paid in Full which included room, taxes, and fees. The gal at the counter was rude, didn't care, and would not even participate in a reasonable conversation.Since I booked through Southwest Concierge (SC) I contacted them who stated the room was paid in full. SC attempted to get the hotel to reimburse but they would not.The hotel stated the additional fee was for parking (didn't have a car), security (definitely needed), and the pool (didn't use it).The hotel is not walking distance to the main part of the strip nor is it walking distance to the Fremont Street area. There was a fight between drivers in the parking lot.Do not take a room on the ground floor. Someone walked around and drug a chair for many hours of the evening and into the night. This hotel does have a beautiful view of the Stratosphere at night.

The cool old sign caught my eye as I was driving down the main road, we pulled in on the off chance they had a room available for the weekend. We lucked out and got a room then ordered from the cafe. The food was DELICIOUS and the people who work here are so nice. Nancy has been very helpful. The rooms are very basic and straight out of the 70s. The meter-matic next to the bed still works!! So fun. Like an adult carnival ride.

My boyfriend and I got there at 930 pm and I had to knock on the door for 10 minutes before anyone answered. When the woman finally answered she told me that “my reservation was canceled.” I told her I never received a cancellation email, I showed her my confirmation email and she just continued to say “sorry we gave your room away you never checked in and your card was declined.” I never received an email regarding me that my “card was declined” and never received a phone call. We ended up staying at the Best Western down the road (which was MUCH nicer). If you wanna stay at this place have a back up plan.

A joke, cafe completely empty took older woman 8 minutes to make a espresso, approximately 1/8 of an ounce that is, I said are you kidding????? 3 dollars for what????I then said give me coffee straight up so she did which was lukewarm on freezing night. Two 4th grade girl scouts with lemonade stand would best these ripoff artists, no stars, a laughingstock, dont pretend you can serve food when you cant.

I've been wanting to check this place out every time I came to Reno. I was intrigued that a motel like this had a cafe....it seemed like it might be a diamond in the rough......and I was right!!!! We ordered breakfast and it was wonderful and delicious! The nice lady who runs the joint was super friendly, super attentive and even brought my youngest a plate of fries just because he was craving them! And the fries are probably the best I've ever tasted hands down. I had the breakfast burrito and it was yuuuge and delicious.....the salsa was mild and didn't interfere. My other kiddo had a breakfast sammie with country potatoes, and it was spot on! The sausage patty was delish as well. I could sit in here all day, eat and people watch. One day I hope to get a room here during Street Vibrations or Hot August Nights and do just that. I plan on having lunch here el quicko so I can make it 5 stars (like I have any doubt).... BTW Door Dash and GrubHub were in and out of this place......non.fukin.stop.... FYI..... Cheers!!

Worth every penny! The rooms are decorated with period correct furnishings , and many of the practical features of yesteryear are still in tact. The prices were more than fair and it's close to three casinos. I am in town for a business trip and this family owned establishment is the kind of business I like to support ! The diner is also rad as well ! I will stay here every time I come to Reno now. If you try to call and don't get an answer just go on in ! Also a word on security ! The parking lot is lit and gated after hours , and there is a camera system on the lot. They also keep ppl out of the lot who aren't there for food or lodging. I've seen a few comments about them being "rude" and they are far far from that ! Quite honestly they are vigilant and care about their motel because it also belongs to them and they care about their patrons ! Would recommend 100%

Walking by at the Reno Wing Fest on Virginia St and stopped by the Thunderbird Motel Restaurant. Food and service was excellent and sat on the patio enjoying the breeze on a hot day. French Dip was made with thinly sliced prime rib. What a nice surprise.
