I don't normally write reviews, but Andy's Automotive was so helpful when I was in a tough spot that I had to share my positive experience with them.
I was visiting Reno when I was in a bit of a car accident. I had to drive four hours back home the following day, so I was hoping my car could be looked at asap so I knew if it was safe to drive long distances. I was referred to Andy's Automotive and they were so nice on the phone and offered to look at it that day. When I brought my car in, they immediately started examining it and determined my tires were out of alignment. I didn't even have to leave the shop and pick it up later; they fixed the tires for me right then. I am very appreciative of Andy & his team - I was a bit shaken after the accident, and they really put me at ease and were so pleasant the entire time. If I'm back in the Reno/Sparks area and have car trouble again, I will definitely be going back to Andy's Automotive!
***UPDATE***: It's like the universe read my last sentence in my first post and decided to manifest it. I was back in Reno only a week later in a different car and unfortunately that car broke down. I didn't think twice about where to go - I immediately called a tow truck to take the car to Andy's Automotive in Sparks. They were once again so helpful and offered to take a look at it (even though this is now the second time I came calling without an appointment). They fixed it up and I was able to drive it the four hours back home without a problem. Thank you, Andy's Automotive!

Took my car in for a second opinion, they were communicative, responsive and helpful. I felt their feedback was honest - they ended up referring us to another shop for the work, but their honesty was the most helpful thing for our situation. Will be taking our next car there for work when needed.

My family and I have been going to Andy's for more than a decade, with everything from super charged corvettes to beat up Ford rangers. If they can fix it, they will do it excellently, and of they are concerned they can't, they will recommend someone who can. That is the sign of a capable and HONEST mechanic.

I have been using Andy's Automotive for 20+ years & let me tell you, I will never go anywhere else!!! My front axle broke in my 2017 Toyota Tundra. I purchased this truck in Elko, Nevada & went thru the warranty company to have the axle replaced. Because it was under warranty, I had to go thru Dolan Toyota (what a joke!!) Here we are 4 months later (STILL waiting on axle from Dolan Toyota!) Went to pick it up from Dolan on Monday because I was so pissed I had been waiting for 4 months!! Took it to Andy same day. He had it ordered & installed (an even better axle!) 2 days later!!! I should have just taken it to Andy in the first place. Have never had ANY problems at Andy's shop & would recommend them over any shop in Reno any day......Look nowhere else! Thanks for all the years of awesome work Andy! Mark Davis

I have been taking all of my vehicles to Andy's Automotive. Andy is honest and his prices are more than fair. He always knows how to fix things when they are not working correctly. I've known Andy 30 years. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else in this town. I trust Andy and he's a man of his word. He deserves 10 stars in my opinion! I drove my 1957 Oldsmobile from San Mateo, Ca to Reno/Sparks for Hot August Nights and developed major suspension issues on the trip. Andy's was recommended by another shop and am I glad they did. Andy took the time to determine the problem and was able to do the repairs necessary to get me "cruising" again. In addition, Andy followed up the next day with a call.Andy's is the place to take to get your car serviced or repaired. Their prices are fair, they do excellent work, and they care.Chuck

I have a'92 Ford Ranger with 263K miles on the clock. I noticed that I had a small brake fluid leak coming from the frame of the truck. I called Gabe at Andy's and told him of the problem. He told me to bring the truck in ASAP because you either have brakes or you don't! I bring the Ranger in and Andy takes a look and determines that I had a defective proportioning valve [the valve controls fluid to the front and rear brakes]. Problem: Ford stopped making this valve in the 90's. Gabe does an exhaustive search on the interweb but an OEM valve was non-existent. Andy steps in and gets a hold of a contact he knew in Oregon, and the contact has a like new valve! His contact overnights the valve to Andy. Andy installs the valve and my Ranger was ready to roll. Any other garage would have probably said, "the valve is no longer available, get rid of the truck." Although my Ranger has some high mileage, it still runs great. Thanks to Andy and Gabe, I can hopefully keep it on the road for another 20-30K. These guys will bust their butts for their customers! I'm a customer of Andy's for life. Thank you Andy and Gabe!!

Andy refused to work on my vehicle because he would have to charge the labor. Instead he made sure a dealer in town covered the work under warranty. (He actually called the dealer and argued with me to take it in, and that saved me 13 thousand dollars).I didn't believe that level of integrity still existed amongst mechanics but he proved to me it does.He has a customer for life.

The guys there are awesome the owner Andy is very nice they took the time to explain to me everything that was happening with the car. Great prices very reasonable compared to other places that I called around to.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement
