If I could rate this store a minus 0 stars or less, I would. I clipped the coupons last night for my purchases today. I went there today and they were already out of the bacon from Tuesdays ad. I made other purchases that I had clipped but they rang up full price which I didn't notice until I got to my car. I went back to the cashier and was told she had to rering up my purchases. I brought everything back in and there was another person with the same problem at the next cashier over, they charged her full price instead of the clipped price also. She didn't have to bring her groceries back to be rerung it was done off her receipt but I had to bring mine back inside. The only difference is I'm Asian and the other customer wasn't. I felt embarrassed and rudely treated and it was a very unpleasant experience. So, I returned all of my groceries and I tore up my Safeway card. There are just to many other stores that want your business for anyone to put up with this.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Everyone was so rude and if you asked for help it was such an "inconvenience" for people doing nothing. Waved to people for assistance and they straight up ignored me and looked away. I've been to Safeways in Arizona, California, Vegas, and I have never been so dismissed as I have here.

The guys that work the meat department are rude and go out of their way to screw up your order request. I guess they hate their lives and get off on the little things they have control over. I got wings , asked for drums and flats he gave me 10 drums and 2 flats , and I was sick after eating them. This place is disappointing on so many more levels tho in addition to expired food and rancid meat .I only go there out of convenience, but no more. I'll go the extra quarter mile to smiths

I had a 36 cupcake order for two kids birthday parties. I place the order and reserved specific decorations, that the employee put in a bag and set aside for me. I placed the order on 5/8 when I went to pick up on 5/20 the staff did not have my order. I had the order form and one of the team members argued with me and said they had not taken a cupcake order in weeks. After a few minutes of arguing someone offered to make them and have them done within the hour. I went and came back, they did not apologize or provide a discount. This is the second issue we have had for May birthday parties at this location. I would not recommend using.

I went shopping here today to get stuff for dinner (for tonight). When I got home I wanted to check the expiration date on the mayonnaise I bought and it is a month expired!!! They literally have expired products on their shelves. Please don't be like me & check before you put in your cart!!! I am so upset and honestly think this is SO unacceptable. Yes, it may be my bad for not checking the expiration date but WHY would they have anything expired on their shelves???! SO SO GROSS!!!!

It is damn hard to find a decent grocery store in this town!! I thought Raleys was bad, Geez!! This location is so inconsistent it's a joke. Produce department is constantly lacking, bakery too....is nothing fresh in this store? Entire milk department empty due to spoiled product. All the milk was gone today even fake non dairy milk apparently went bad. Deli isn't fresh looking and the fryer stinks up the whole area. Sometimes they have Hint water sometimes none...again totally inconsistent. Someone needs to pay better attention to ordering product. New management needs to come in and give this place a makeover.

We, my family and some cousins, were at this Safeway on 11 November aka Veterans Day 2022. We purchased tp, people food, dog food, cat food, and kitty litter. Customer service was adequate Bathroom was clean. Some cashiers and some customers wore a mask and wore it in a safe manner (Isn't it ALWAYS preferable to wear a mask now instead of a ventilator later?!?). Social distancing was followed by most customers (Isn't it ALWAYS preferable to be 6' apart than 6' feet under?!?). November is National Veterans and Military Families Month. The managers(s) of this business like their Freedom so they have a 10% Military and Veterans Discount every November to those who Serve or have Served as a token thanks to our GIs and we Veterans. A Veterans Discount means a lot to those unable to be employed due to military Service-connected disability as on limited fixed income. Cashier thanked us for our Service On this day in history 3 January 1943 - A US B-17E bomber, brand-new 42-5084 'Panhandle Doggie II', was downed over German-occupied France following a bombing run over a German submarine base in southern France. All crew ejected but German soldiers were ordered to prevent local fishermen going to the rescue of the men who came down in the sea and those Americans drowned. 1st Lieutenant John H. Roten, Navigator, was the only survivor as he parachute landed on the roof of a house. Roten spent 28 months as a Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft 11 Sagan and took part in the grim Long March to Mooseburg in April 1945. September 1997, Roten and his wife paid a visit to the town of Noirmoutier en L'ile at the invitation of the Mayor to unveil a plaque commemorating his parachute landing on the roof of the house on Rue Beaulieu. 1944 - Commander Frank A. Erickson flies plasma in a US Coast Guard HNS-1 helicopter from Brooklyn, New York to a hospital in Sandy Hook, New Jersey in the first recorded mission of mercy conducted by a rotary wing aircraft. On 7 December 1941, US Coast Guard aviator Frank Erickson was stationed in the control tower of the US Naval Air Station overlooking Pearl Harbor. From his vantage point he watched helplessly in horror as sailors drowned in oily water during the Japanese attack that day. Erickson had recently read about the new invention of the helicopter by Igor Sikorsky, and vowed to himself that he would someday use the helicopter to save lives. In January 1944, a fierce storm swept the Atlantic coast forcing the grounding of airplanes and close of airfields. Deadly explosions then ripped destroyer USS Turner (DD-648) apart as she lay anchored off Ambrose Light near Lower New York Bay during the morning watch on 3 January 1944. Despite the crew's gallant attempts to save their ship, she sank within hours. Rescuers brought survivors to the nearby hospital at Sandy Hook. The wounded urgently needed blood plasma. Commander Erickson volunteered. He took off from Floyd Bennett Field in New York and fought gusting winds to deliver two cases of the precious fluid lashed to the helicopter's floats. This hero pilot afterward observed that the "weather conditions were such that this flight could not have been made in any other type of aircraft." Born near Portland, Oregon, Erickson enlisted in US Navy, attended one term at US Naval Academy, then enlisted in US Coast Guard. He received an appointment to US Coast Guard Academy, graduated and commissioned as an Ensign in 1931. After Service onboard cutters before World War II, he transferred to Honolulu where he witnessed the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Erickson subsequently became instrumental in the early development of helicopters and pioneered many of the techniques that the Navy and Coast Guard adapted. He retired as a Captain in 1955. 1944 - US Marine Corps ace Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington captured. According to part-Sioux part-Irish ROTC Washington University engineering graduate Boyington's autobiography, he was never accorded the required POW status by the Japanese, and his captivity

In the area, and had to stop at this location. In my quest for a certain butter, and I knew Safeway carried it. I bought the two different types with and without salt. This location was nice and not too busy. I'll be using this butter with my avocado toast! Glad I stopped. Wish my location had a gas station..

On a recent visit to Safeway in Reno, I was treated very kindly. On my way out of the store, I stopped and broke a bottle of wine. One employee immediately ran up to me to see if I was alright, another grabbed an absorbent power and began soaking up the wine. A third employee came up to me and asked what had broken. I told her and she went to the right aisles, got another bottle of the same wine and replaced the one I broke. What could have been very embarrassing and costly to me was handled promptly and efficiently. Thank you.

I moved to this part of Sparks December 2021 and this has become my default grocery store. I have shopped here countless times in almost a year and have always had good experiences. The store has always been clean. The employees have been very helpful. And most importantly, the shelves have always been stocked. I've never left the store without an ingredient I couldn't find. I do have one complaint, but it's not enough to dock a star. The last time I was there, the girl at the check stand was excruciatingly slow at checking out the people in her line. For one person through her line, the checker behind her checked out 3 people, and those others having more items than the one in this checker's line. I'm not sure if she was new and was just learning speed, or if she was just done at the end of her shift. While she was ringing me up and I was putting my card into the terminal to check out, she turned and told the other checker she was off in 15 minutes. If I see her again as a checker, I will not be choosing her line.

Just got back from Safeway for the 2nd time. None of my coupons were taken off and the bread I bought clearly states (even online, Buy 2 or more $1.99 ea) Well I got charged $3.99 each. The coffee had a coupon, it did not come off. So I took those items back for a refund, they goofed that up too, instead of giving me credit for 4 loaves of bread they gave me credit for 3 and charged me for one. I spent $145 this time, there was also supposed to be a 5% coupon taken off. This is the second time this has happened in just a few weeks, we just moved to Sparks so I don't know if this happens to everyone? Three Strikes your out!!!

Alex from the meat department did not want to help cut my meat. He suggested another thin meat saying the one I picked was not good to cut. I told him I cook it all the time and wanted it. He said,"Fine, I'll cut it for you." I go home and something told me to recheck the price. To my surprise, the guy changed the price, pounds, and type of meat. My chuck roast was only $15, This guy tried to be sneaky and charged me $33($9.99/lb) for ground beef! I went back to tell the guy how wrong he was for not wanting to do his job, to be dishonest to a customer and the company! Of course, he tried to play dumb like he had no idea what I was talking about. One customer pulled me to the side to let me know she had issues with the same employee. He should have been fired a long time ago. She told me to take down his name and talk to his manager. Another customer joined in to say, she stood there for a while and he never helped her either. I told her to be careful and check the prices because he will change it and over charge you. That says a lot about this employee when 2 customers agree with you! He also only cut the top part of the meat in strips. Everything under were thick chunks. He made it look like it was all cut. However, this was not the main reason why I complained. This part was something I would have let go. However, changing the price on me is not something I will keep quiet about. I don't want it to happen to other customers. If I could, I would give 5 stars to the manager, Zack. He let me vent, told me what he can do for me, what his next steps will be with the employee, and he was very apologetic. He did give me a full $33 refund. I also received an email from customer service and they will be bringing this incident up to the district manager.

I've always loved Safeway...until my visit today at 10 AM. This store still adheres to a high standard of cleanliness that you'd expect from the chain. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Here's why I'm deducting two stars. Inflation and supply issues have contributed greatly to price increases. With that in mind, Safeway's prices are out of line on most items compared to most grocers. They're one of the worst chains when it comes to their various promotions involving member prices and downloadable coupons. It's an exasperating process to have to check each digital coupon box. I understand why they want customers to register as a member. Data mining is a detestable practice used by most grocers. I wish they'd stop doing it because it feels like a violation of my privacy. I have little faith that the chain isn't selling my purchasing patterns to third parties. Safeway needs to quit playing games and stop this digital coupon nonsense. The other reason I'm giving a lower rating is because of their inability to put products in the same place as their signage. It's annoying to check out and find you've grabbed a product higher than the advertised price. It's essentially a form of bait and switch when stockers put a similar product in the space of the one on sale. Leave the shelf empty if you're filling it with other products for aesthetics. I shouldn't have to check the yellow sales tags and my receipt with a fine tooth comb to catch price mismatches. I encountered one this morning where the space for some frozen produce didn't match the brand on sale. It strikes me as a deliberate strategy to confound and rip off consumers. I've encountered this problem multiple times with Safeway as well as its competitors. Quit advertising things like 'buy 2, get 3 free' twelve packs of soda. Clearly advertise the price as '5 twelve packs for (promotion price'. Purposefully concealing the true prices is a sneaky practice and shows a total disregard for your customers. Shoppers be forewarned. There's an extremely high probability that you've been overcharged. Safeway's staff is more than helpful in resolving the problem. A store clerk went back and checked the shelf and found that stockers had put a similar product on the shelf because stockers were covering gaps. There are plenty of good things to say about the store. However, if the chain is going to inconvenience shoppers, then I'll be buying elsewhere.
