I do not suggest the CCW class that is offered at Scheels (instructed by Concealed Coalition). During sign up, you're encouraged to purchase their neoprene gun holster. During THEIR class, they advise NOT to purchase that holster due to safety concerns! What gives!? The class was double the size it was meant to be, resulting in the shooting part being spilt in two days. Just a mess. There's MANY other CCW instructors in the area you should explore.

Scheels is a large two-level store, with a huge variety of sporting goods, clothing, toys, and more.
It's one of our favorite places to visit whenever we're in Reno.
It's clean, organized, and attractive, and staff was friendly.
Love the large fish tanks near the entrance, and the many displays of life-like animals, and the displays featuring past presidents.
We also like visiting the candy store upstairs, which sells old fashioned candy, drinks, and a large assortment of sweets (gummies, sours, hard candies, and chocolates), sold by the pound. They also sell hand dipped chocolate treats and candy apples.
The Ferris wheel and game area are also great attractions.
There used to be a cart where you could get fresh candied almonds.
Looking forward to our next visit!

Absolutely the best sporting goods store. Fishing and gun department staff are very knowledgeable and can provide expert guidance. Price and selection 2nd to none.

Can you even go to Scheels and not have a great time. It's a carnival, museum and department store all in one place.

It is an easy way to burn a few hours. It's close to the airport also. Lots to see and the Scheels experience is interesting. Prices are ok. You can catch some good deals if you sign up for information. The staff is helpful and welcoming. They have a great hunting section and gun library.
