TL;DR: absolutely terrible experience. Stayed at the Hostel. Dirty. No heat. Freezing cold water for showers. All this in January. Seemed like there was only one person at the front desk working in the entire hotel + hostel, and consequently there was zero assistance to solve problems and zero maintenance in the hostel.Oh, and their response after I complained upon checking out... just as pathetic as their service. The long version.1. Heater not working. We call the front desk. They say maintenance will come shortly. No one comes. 30 minutes later, we call again. They say they have no idea where the maintenance guys are and that all they could do is give us some blankets. It's January, below 30 outside. We have to suggest if there's something like a portable heater that they could give us. The poor guy at the front desk says there is one, but we have to go pick it up ourselves. It's snowing outside, and the hostel is in a separate building than the front desk, located at the hotel across the street. I get the portable heater for the night... which was the one the poor guy at the front desk was using.2. Hairs in the pillow cases.3. Hostel kitchen had nothing to wash dishes with. No soap, no sponge, no kitchen towels. Everything was dirty. Garbage bins in the common areas were full, almost overflowing.4. FREEZING COLD WATER in the shower. Tried both bathrooms, both showers the same.5. One bathroom without toilet paper. The other, had enough toilet paper for me and the next person, not more. One of the sinks, full of hair. Absolutely disgusting.I explain my experience when checking out. A different person than the previous night seems very understanding and surprised about our experience. She tells me that we will get a partial refund, that she can only give a 10-20%, but that she will talk to her supervisor later in the day to see if they can do better. Some hours later in the day, they send us the bill with a 10% discount of our total bill. The final touch to complete possibly my worst experience ever in a hostel, and I've stayed in hostels in more than 20 countries in the world. At this point, I guess it's pretty clear I would give them 0 stars if it were possible. Avoid at all costs.

This is NOT a $100/night room.It was clean & nice enough but unnecessarily sparse. Plenty of room for a table or something to put your luggage on but instead, aside from the dresser & bed, there's only two folding chairs - not even hangers on the door for your coats. For $100 & no private bathroom or other ammenities, they could at least make it more hospitable; There's plenty of room for a bit more furniture, which would also make it more accessible for disabled people. (The accessible bathroom & shower were appreciated.)Also: They didn't bother to clear snow from the parking lot which was sketchy with our sedan. There were cups, stemware & plates in the kitchen, but they were really dirty and had to be re-washed. The microwave also kind of sucked and there were no basic disposable ammenities, like dish soap, napkins or paper towels. No coffee. The "hotel" button on the phone in the kitchen doesn't reach the hotel. Worst of all, the hot water went out twice in our 1-night stay, and the heat was locked at 72° and we were told we couldn't change it. It blew hot air from the ceiling right onto our faces all night, making sleeping nearly impossible; woke up coughing so many times. Not impressed. With how fancy the main hotel is and how much we paid, they could have tried a lot harder. The hostel basically feels like a side note to the hotel that no one cares about.

I booked this super last minute while traveling with my dog. I'm a fella with simple needs so I booked the hostel room via a hotel booking site, but found out it was a specific room that allowed pups. The front desk fella was extremely understanding of my situation and helped me get situated without feeling like I was s.o.l. Kudos to that gentleman! Ps The check in is the Mizpah. Felt like a little house with several rooms. Clean, quiet, and close to the brewery for some good brews and grub!

Like this little place when you just want to sleep.

Great place to stay on a budget! Yes it's two communal unisex bathrooms and a communal kitchen supporting 8 rooms ($60 full/$65 queen) and the rooms are spartan, but for a good night sleep at a great price it's totally a win! 5/5 will stay again!!!

Clean and well-located. They don't stock toiletries like soap, shampoo or conditioner, but do provide towels.

Never stay here! I booked two weeks in advance. AC was out half the time even after changing rooms. I was working nights and cleaning woke me every day with loud chatting and unnecessary banging noises, also knocked on my door each day or just walked in even after telling them each time I was staying for more than a week and would not require service. Very untidy. The same half full beer bottle sat outside the front walk my nearly two week stay. The refrigerator was never cleaned and had old bad food that was left my entire stay. Front desk was not at all helpful or prompt at addressing any of my issues. Had to end my stay early due to lack of sleep.

The rooms & bathrooms were great. Clean & comfortable. Unfortunately our AC was not working and they were not able to move us. Finally we asked for a fan, which was supplied. The biggest disappointment was the kitchen and gathering area. Fridge, sink, minimal dishes, & microwave available. There was no stove or cooking apparatus, not even a plug in kettle to make coffee in the am. Part of using a hostel for us is the kitchen use, and the gathering area to meet other travelers. There was one table with 4 chairs in the kitchen, but no other seating or lounge type area.

Not a five star hotel but certainly a 5 star hostel. Great linen, down comforter, great heating and cooling. Clean bathrooms. Tons of towels. Check in is at the Mizpah. Pictures don't do it justice. Definitely coming back.

Very cool restored old building! Gets "hotel" quality cleaning from the neighboring Mizpah (who own/run it). Steps from the small downtown area/bars. Building feels secure and shared spaces are clean and convenient.

Very small. Clean. Thin walls. 2 bathrooms down the hall.Good for an American hostel. Overseas hostels are much better.
