We spent 2 nights at the KOA at Boomtown. The staff at check in were great and the campground is clean and quiet and easily accommodates big rigs. Location offers a walk up to the casino and restaurants.

I came for work at reno. I rented a long-term spot, and prices are very considered the only thing I never saw anyone come to clean my spot. Otherwise, security always comes to patrol, very quiet .. Thank you

Friendly staff. Clean park with well paved roadways and decent site space. Well maintained with shuttle service to Casino. This is my second stay and I will put this on my map for future stays.

I called when I was on my way to verify our reservation it took 4 different phone calls with a 55 min duration before someone answered to tell us we will talk to you when you get here click.. (found out later it was the older lady staff member) when I arrived the older lady was helping someone else and the manager was kind and apologized about the phone call because we should hace been told we couldn't check in until 2pm but she would let us cone back at 12pm.
Unfortunately, a lot has negativly changed in the last 8 months since our last stay for 2 months during the fall of our wonderful 2 month stay in 2023 and even prior stays where the guest and staff were happy and kind. We made a few life long friends before but currently this was a horrible 2 nights and $200 wasted and will never go back.
The much older lady staff member favored a cruel family who are permenant residents and they got away with screaming, cussing and threatening my children and my life over an incident with our dogs. She wouldn't let me talk and when I asked to speak to a staff member Larry that I knew from last year and my son had bonded with she shushed me and my son asked her to please not shush my mom. The staff member than told him not to attack her and closed the door. This staff member heard my kids and I get called horrible names, screamed at and be threatened by this cruel family (mom, daughter and husband) and allowed it and covered it up by flipping the script and even took it one step further to not only calling security who we already spoke to and addressed the issue but while I was calmy writing my statement of the dog incident across the road because she made it clear she didnt want to hear me talk.
When she got done talking to the cruel family she literally drove up to the casino and got the casino manager with 2 security guards to come and tell us if we speak to any of the staff or guest here we will be asked to leave. Confused, I asked how is this happening.
I was not the one screaming and threatening, my kids and I are the victims of this untrue claim. I asked them to check the cameras for proof because what this staff member is saying is not true, she's flipping the script to protect the other family.
I was laughed at and disregarded and so we left. Disgusted by all this and knowing mine and my kids worth, we left this awful environment. I can't believe the incident of this family being able to scream, cuss and threaten mine and my children's lives was just laughed at. The worst part is it has given my toddler nightmares. I tried to call Joel Brady the boss of the casino management to set the record straight but no luck.
No one seems to care about the truth.
To add this same family allows thier little children running around the enterance of the koa unattended in the streets the same older staff lady gives them free candy, It's so unsafe and the free candy is just favoritism, which this staff member should receive a trophy in.
The other downhill that has changed is people getting drunk at the family pool and the dirty, soaked bathrooms that always stink of poo or cigarettes. They use to be clean.
$200 spent to have this horrible experience and where our lives were threatened is ridiculous. This place that my kids and I loved and stayed at for 2 months last year and years before with the best staff has gone downhill and now after only spending 2 nights I've witnessed it to become more like a trailer trash park with nice views and a swimming pool.

The staff is friendly but our site was super crowded because of neighbors. Be sure to look at the site map when you book. Lanes , B, and C were the least crowded. Spots at the ends of the lanes have a nice grassy area. If we come to Reno again we will probably find a different park. Usually KOAs are top notch but we were a bit disappointed here

Not just a KOA! But a Trailer Park KOA!
Ya pay for end site so everyone asshole with a dog can take a shit by your door…classy.
They could put up a sign and send people to dog park. Nope, the WTM just do what they want in this place.
Try to like this place, not big fan of TRAILER PARKs!
Dont let the lipstick fool ya, this place is packed full of Full time residents and management from same vein. It is RENO!
Why do they give you a code to enter bathhouse that gets locked anyways! Better hope you don’t have to take a dump between hours!!
It’s Reno, if ya like white trash and management that lets them do whatever they want!
This Place for you.

The majority of sites are not very level . Our sewer drainage was even a little bit uphill and didn't drain well. Also about 1/4 of the sites were taken by long term residents. Not very many sites had grass at all.
Toilets: Restrooms and showers were all very well kept.

Horrid! We spent an hour trying to settle into our slot but the wrong amp on our first attempt, second offering was already filled and third time was the slot was being used as a parking spot. Very frustrating and received a refund and drove away.

They will pick you up at your camp site and take you to the casino and take you back when you're done! Very nice camping area and amenities.

Only 2 bathrooms/showers total (they are combined). And they lock the bathrooms at night. We have a camper with no toilet and we couldn't believe that the bathrooms wouldn't open with the code at night. It's absolutely ridiculous! Never going back there!

We had a GREAT night’s stay here! We were tired and needed showers & rest. The bathrooms/showers inside the registration building were SPOTLESS! “Renie” is an amazing greeter, explainer in chief, propane filler, registrar, AND cleaner of showers & restrooms! SHE is the main reason for the 5 stars. KOA is blessed to have her there!

KOA BoomTown is part of the BoomTown complex, which includes restaurants, gas station, OutBack Restaurant/Casino, land the KOA sits on, an apartment complex next door, and so much more. The park itself is sub par and the staff extremely rude. Many grifters live in the park and everyone is under constant surveillance from management. For instance we got the free Players Pass for a prime rib discount (mediocre offering with wilted salad, over cooked potato and fatty prime rib) only to have security banging on our RV door an our later insisting that we need escorted back to the Casino. They don't like it when you don't gamble. Bathrooms stunk also. Only redeeming factor was the views of the mountains and Truckee river. Never got a change to enjoy the pool because it was always packed with kids and reserved chairs (people leaving towels when not at the pool).
The kids arcade was pretty awesome I have to admit. Though the idea of kids in these sleaze infested places baffles me.
