They don't really do much around the park.No snow plowing till its almost melted,... or cleaning outside of changing the trash... they could probably do less, but you wouldn't be able to notice by then. They complain a lot too. Spoken with them 5 times and 3 times they were threatening to kick me out.If your looking to get kicked in the testies mentally, Come on down!.It's expensive too.

First of all my Google maps kept taking me in a circle so don't rely on that to get you here. It a little difficult to get to, just follow the KOA signs. The park looks clean, at night there's a security guard. I didn't stay there my friend does but she seems to like it there.

Ummm bathrooms??!?! Only available 6am-10pm. With ONLY 2 available after 5pm (even though they say 6pm. It's not true)!! Insane lines for bathrooms after hours. Can't believe we have to PAY for a KOA like this. Honestly pick ANY other campground if you like an AMENITY like a Bathroom!! So disappointed in THIS KOA. Additionally, Dog poop on sites (for added precautions for coming here). Just really disappointed in this management.Restrooms: LIMITED ACCESS to bathrooms and lines!!! No bathrooms from 10pm to 6am! Horrible

If you want Wi Fi, this isn't the place. Nice enough park, dog friendly but pretty busy. Close enough to Reno for Costco and such.

Loved the big room we had. There was like a little kitchen with living room and the bed room was big as well. And we had an outside balcony and the picture was from the balcony

Small lots. Back part of park were year around residents. Very clean, great showers, recommend stay in the front area where office and facilities are. Great laundry.

If I, or my family could give KOA Boomtown West of Reno less than 1 star, done. I am a Native Nevadan. I have never known such price gouging by a single company than KOA. My parent's have been staying here for several months until my step dad retires. The approximate so called, month to month can be just over $1,000 a month. In the last week, KOA Reno gouged my parent's more than half of the above cost. The way KOA treats Native Nevadans is insidious, horrible and down right greeeeeedy. My parents are NOT rich. My mom, retired make far less than the KOA rent SSI. Bottom line, there are no excuses for this. This o called business and owners like this should be run the SHIT!! out of my state. The showers smell horrible. The WIFI is HORRIBLE. The owners must be social justice cult warriors. MSDNC, CNN must be their coven.

1st off staff was excellent. But there's always a but.. this KOA allows rv's returning from burning man to use multiple spots throughout the campground for a "dump" and wash station. I had at least 30 rv's pull through the spot next to us. Mind you the dump was approximately 4 feet from our picnic table. Multiple people have never dumped an rv before in their life. Pretty entertaining for sure. The burning man people washed their vehicles which left a dirt and clay everywhere. They also let a full service of a diesel pusher be done on the other side of our trailer. They worked on the rv all day including oil change, batteries etc. super loud air compressor. They spilled oil everywhere which they tried to clean up however it left a Hugh mess. I definitely will not be staying here anytime during burning man. Lots of people living full time in campground.

Very enjoyable experience !! We pulled right in to our spot late Friday evening , woke up early Saturday morning to enjoy the balloon races . Family stayed at the hotel in boomtown and paid 300 dollars for us it was so much better and enjoyable for 40.00 dollars a night . They also have restrooms , showers and laundry room available . Little mini store along with a pool . I recommend if you have a camper or RV this is a must .Dog-friendliness: They have pop bags and trash can to discard the pop properly .Picnic area: Each site has picnic benches available in your site .

This was our first time staying in a KOA campground and only our second stop with our 42' 5th wheel. Initially, it was a KOA Journey, something I didn't fully grasp back then – that it might not be the ideal place for an extended stay unless you were focused on local activities and simply using it for rest.We stayed at this location from March 25th, 2022, through April 21st, 2022, for a longer duration due to our preparations for nationwide travel in our 5th wheel. However, I wouldn't advise anyone to opt for such an extended period here.Upon our arrival, we completed the check-in process. The staff was decent, except for the manager whose behavior was rather peculiar. Unfortunately, he displayed an unprofessional attitude, finding amusement in the misfortunes of others on more than one occasion. For instance, he took pleasure in recounting instances where people struggled to park their trailers and damaged them. It was an odd and unsettling experience.I began to wonder whether the manager intentionally assigned us a challenging spot with a sharp turn, given that my husband had informed him it was our first time maneuvering our rig. Despite the difficulties posed by the layout of the trees, we managed to park. However, due to limited space, our slides couldn't fully extend on one side. Seeking a solution, we approached the office, only to find the entire staff observing us with what seemed like amusement. The manager's demeanor was particularly galling – a smug expression on his face. It was disappointing to encounter such behavior; I have little patience for those lacking basic kindness and empathy.Thankfully, my husband's experience in parking trailers came in handy, and he navigated the situation effectively. Although this was our inaugural experience moving our new 5th wheel, it was far from his first time parking a trailer. The site itself was a pull-through, accommodating up to 55 feet – though this posed challenges for larger trailers with slides on both sides. Full hookups, 50 Amp power, WiFi/cable services, propane availability, and a laundry facility were provided. However, the laundry closed when the office did. The campground did accept delivered packages and was dog-friendly, though a dedicated enclosed dog park was absent.Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness was lacking, and dog waste was a concern. Throughout my stay, I observed maintenance being performed just once, and that was when a KOA representative was also lodged there. I recognize this might sound harsh, but this is an accurate reflection of my experience.Additionally, if tranquility is what you seek, this is not the spot for you. The constant sound of passing trains persisted day and night. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this park to anyone. Instead, I suggest considering GSR if you're in the area and desire proximity to a casino.*For those unfamiliar with the KOA experience, understanding the distinctions between various types of KOAs (KOA Journey, KOA Holiday, KOA Resort) is essential to tailor your choice to your preferences and needs.
