One Star ONLY because I have to choose one. This place is awful... the only saving grace it has is the friendly service in the gift shop. The parking garage is disgusting with trash everywhere. The elevators smell awful and are filthy. Broken rails. And unbelievably slow. The room was rough... WAY OVERPRICED. $300 for a room that wasn't clean, didn't have mattress covers, a comforter, a mini fridge (So don't make the mistake of bring back your $70 steak leftovers like we did because there is no fridge to keep it), microwave, ice bucket, or even a coffee maker. Our wall paper was peeling, holes in the wall, filthy carpet, broken furniture, broken door, and what looked like puke not mopped up. The AC was so loud we had to shut it off. The carpet was stained, looked un vacuumed, Management will probably leave an apology comment on this saying they are remodeling... this is most likely not true given there is zero evidence of any sort of property upkeep. I don't like to leave bad reviews and try to find the positive for businesses as I know it is not easy to being in the hospitality industry but this place is just awful. As a customer I am very disgusted and disgruntled so much money was wasted on this place.

Horrible rooms. Sink faucet wasn't attached anymore. Asked for wheelchair accessible room. Twice they told me it was, it wasn't. Couldn't get my wife into the bathroom. Ice machine didn't work. Had go to other floors to find one. The lights from their marquee shown into the room. Couldn't get the blinds closed enough to block it out. I will never stay there again.

Such a horrible placeFront desk staff is terrible. No coffee maker mini frig or microwave in room. It was freezing in out roomCould not call front desk from our room because phone not connected. Called from my cell and no answer. Finally walked down to front desk Absolutely no type on manager on duty and they said they can't Anderson the phone because they are busy. Total dump!!! If they had minus stars I would give that.

We've stayed here a bunch of times when visiting Wendover. It's in a great location. It's not the cheapest and grossest hotel in Wendover but it's also not the most expensive and it's not as nice as others. It's reasonably priced. They have good restaurants. They are the only hotel that has Keno. The rooms are okay. I wish they were a little nicer. I always wonder how clean their beds really are.

Love the renovated rooms! I would def return based on my guest experience and room. Great a/c! Very impressive for this little town! Tasty cafe and Rosendo is amazing! Some of the comments are too harsh. They are renovating and it shows! Yes!! Thanks for the great stay! See you next time.

what a dump!I f you've ever traveled the East coast an stopped at a Stuckeys...you swear they went into the hotel busines.Hot tub not working, ONE working elevator ( the other has been out 18 months!)Taking the emergency stairwell, half the lights aren't working!The casino's men's room half the stalls doors are missing. When flushed, they backed up!No refrigerator in the rooms, had to us a waste basket with ice!Put damp towels outside the door...NEVER got replaced.Out in the parking lot,a sign had broken off leaving a 2" stub. A friend in flip flops broke his toe nail!I would not have left one star rating because there was nothing lesser.

Just don't go in. You really don't need to. It's so sad and depressing and even worse....they do "work" exchange with the beautiful foreigner's. I don't know how it goes down but the whole place feels eeky. No thanks

A room by the pool was $250 for a Saturday night but the pool is not open. The wallpaper is coming off, no lamp shade or bed spreads. The lock on the slider door is broken so it was a 2x4 in it. Our friends room had no air conditioning. The restaurant menu has no pricing listed. Don't stay here.

My wife and I decided last minute for a night away. Since our normal go-to hotel in Wendover was booked, we decided to give the Nugget a shot... it was a disappointment. I've stayed in worse over the years but it has been a really long time and those (worse) hotels were a result of trying to pinch pennies-- Absolutely NOT the case here. Furniture was banged-up and very dated, lamp had no shade on it, a/c did not cool the room to comfortable sleeping temp, carpet was stained and dingy, bedding was shabby. It's the type of hotel/motel experience I might have expected down the street at a well-known discount motel chain for 1/2 the price. The casino was ok and the employees were very good to deal with. Canmore recommend and won't be staying here again.

This is a sad excuse for a hotel. The reception was firendly, but lacked competant directions to parking and access to the hotel. There was no "map" of the hotel or local area available in either the recption area or in the room. The room appeared clean, but there were stains on the carpet, the light switches did not function properly. I had to cross the room to the switch on the far wall to get any lighting in the room. The lights in the toilet/shower room did not immediately illuminate and flickered. The toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall. And worst of all - for me -the bed was so soft I would sink into it - no I'm not a large person at 5'4" and 140 lbs. There was no coffe maker, or in room fridge available. With all those issues the only place I felt safe eating was Starbucks, and went across the street for dinner. I am a very frequent traveler, and will never again book a room in this hotel.

Same as Darwin W. Housekeeps will steal your stuff. It was 9am and I left my room to go get gas. I got out to my vehicle and realized I left my wallet in my room. By the time I got back to my room I found it partially serviced and my wallet and other belongings taken. The women at the front desk was a 100% b***ch. Security took 15 minutes to meet me at the desk, and they did not even check the security recording to find who went in my room. They did not call the police either. Left me in Wendover with no way to get fuel. Pass by Wendover is my best suggestion...

This hotel is often sold out and costs $300 per night when there is a show in town. We drove through wendover and stayed at the best western because the casinos were all sold out. We stayed at the nugget on our way back through and the difference in cleanliness is tremendous. I have never had a problem with a casino hotel but this one is unhygienic. Do not let the lobby or exterior facade fool you. The carpets in the rooms are so gross I couldn't take my shoes off. Perhaps the renovated rooms are nice but any rooms on the sixth floor in the tower are all nasty and shouldn't be rented until the carpets are replaced . I asked to be moved from my first room because the carpet was so bad and when the front desk person moved me the carpet was even worse. The carpet is almost like a damp dirty sponge.The thing is whoever is managing this hotel is aware of this problem and they're not doing anything about it. They should be ashamed of themselves. Do yourself a favor and stay at the best western a few blocks down the street. They are clean, have a working pool and jacuzzi as well as hot breakfast.

I went there and played keno. A sign said hours Thursday 9am-8pm. I went at 7 and it was closed so I played at kiosk. The sign said cashier would cash winnings. I went to cashier at 830pm. The cashier told me come back in a hour because they can't help me because it's a shift change. I just lost 500 dollars, I was ready to leave. I have to say I'm spending my money, a sign I didn't write gave me information that was wrong and to be told I have to wait an hour is B.S.I used to love this casino. I will never come here again.I recommend to all my friends to follow my lead and don't go to any golden nugget. That includes my shipmates of 23 years of service. The alumni of Beverly Hills High School in California and all the VFW, DAV and American Legion comrades.

We do not gamble. We only stay in Wendover because it is halfway to where we are going. The whole place needs to be renovated the place is very tired looking. We were charged a resort fee, no reason for it. No coffee maker. No refrigerator. Very basic room. Very poor lighting in the rooms. The elevator was so dark we could barely see which button to push for our floor. Restaurant had limited selection. I think the enchiladas I ordered had been frozen. Definitely NOT going to stay here again.

The Nugget is no longer the place it once was. I have been staying here for years and have sadly seen the quality and hospitality go down hill every year. This last trip was the absolute worst in the hotel. First, I called down to the Pit to get a room as I always do, and found out that all comps are handled differently than in the past. Although I haven't played a lot since COVID, my play in the past was appreciated and they always took care of me. I would have expected them to want that level of play back, but oh well. When we arrived to check-in at 8:00pm, we stood there waiting for almost 30 minutes for the 4 people helping 2 guests! Was a joke, but got checked in. The room we got had walls so thin you could seriously hear the guests whispering in bed through the walls. We asked to move but they said the hotel was sold out. We gambled for a while and ended up making a few hundred dollars. Even though the casino was packed, dance floor was full, and plenty of people giving this casino lots of money, it took almost 25 minutes to cash in chips from blackjack at the cage!!! One window girl dealing with a guy trying to get money out of numerous over drawn credit cards and her manager standing behind her doing nothing while a long line formed! Are you kidding me??? On a busy Saturday night, this is how you treat people trying to get their money back? We then decided to rest and gamble the next day. Off to the room... We now noticed that the bed did not have any blankets on it and only 2 very thin pillows. We called down and they said nobody was available to run them up to us and that we would have to come down. This was just past 2:00am and we were already laying down. How is there NO STAFF to do anything???I went down to get the blankets and pillows. When I arrived they found two thin blankets but explained that they just gave away their last pillows! I asked the girl for a late checkout and she at least was pleasant and gave me till noon. We put the do not disturb sign on the door and went to bed. Guess what? Knock on the door at 8:00am!!! I called down and talked to Nick who confirmed that he saw the "Late Checkout" notes on my account but offered no apology. I wanted to talk to the manager, he placed me on a very long hold and I hung up and called back. He then said it wasn't him, but I could tell it was him. Then he said that him manager, Tammy, was in an hour long meeting and could be disturbed. He said he would talk to house keeping. An hour and a half later, knock knock, house keeping!!! At this point I'm mad and really want to talk to Tammy. Guess what?? Yup, still in that hour meeting apparently!!! This is the WORST run hotel I have ever been in. I can get past the out dated room, the thin walls, the lack of basic linens, etc. but the complete lack of any qualified staff, complete disregard for guests, and the lack of any hospitality is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel that supports this no longer shining nugget of a washed up has been casino! Unfortunately, it's time to go to another casino and not run by this same management team!!!!Slight Update:Tammy was able to talk with me and my wife before we left and offered us a room voucher for a "bounce back" between now and when it expires in May and assured us that she was going to address as much as she could. She did have the cleaning staff in her office at the time we spoke.Hope things get better. I will try to come again before the end of May and will post an update then.Sincerely, Greg & Amy
