Self-checkout at this location has been consistently frustrating and uncomfortable due to staff behavior.
I intentionally use self-checkout to scan and pay on my own, yet employees repeatedly interfere, override my actions, or stand directly beside me watching after I clearly say that I am fine and do not need help. This feels intrusive and defeats the entire purpose of self-checkout.
In one instance, I scanned a barcode-looking label on a glass bottle by mistake. Instead of calmly explaining, an employee repeatedly said “no no no” in a dismissive tone, demanded that I “give the gun,” and corrected me in a way that was rude and embarrassing in front of others. This is not acceptable customer service.
I have also been stopped over and over again to be pushed to apply for a Walmart Mastercard. I have declined countless times. Continuing to pressure customers after repeated refusals is inappropriate and exhausting.
Additionally, being overly strict about minor barcode differences on identical, same-priced produce while treating customers like they are doing something wrong only adds to a hostile shopping environment.
These issues happen regularly, not as a one-time incident. Walmart needs to seriously review staff training, communication standards, and how self-checkout is managed. Customers should not feel stressed, watched, or humiliated while paying for their groceries.

Usually really fine with Walmart but having called the line for hours twice for the pharmacy looking online and being told one time but then showing up there and everything is closed something needs to be updated.

I was riding my bike. I wanted water and decided to buy it at Walmart. There was no bike lock, so I decided to ask if I could leave my bike at the entrance near the person greeting visitors. I was rudely refused. They said that I couldn't bring a bike and I had to leave it at my own risk at the entrance (there was no bike lock). Disappointed. I don't think I'll be going back to this Walmart again.

The product selection is great, the prices are close to unbeatable but, the lack of staff is terrible and needs to be increased.

I had a very disappointing experience at the MoneyGram counter at Walmart Dieppe (477 Paul Street) on September 28. I was made to wait more than 25 minutes while people behind me in line were served first. The excuse given was to “clear the line,” which made me feel like those customers were treated as more important than me.
When another colleague took over, she served me but kept getting distracted — signing papers for others, checking her smartwatch, and not focusing on my transaction. This gave me the impression that customers’ time is not respected.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve noticed this kind of distraction and slow service at this counter. Customers deserve more respectful and efficient service.

I find it hard to believe that they had only two cashiers open with the line ups I work at a different canadian store. The elderly enjoy physical interaction with the cashiers. They should start to hire more people who are fluent in french and english, not just people who use hand gestures. If you're looking for floor customer service it doesn't exist. I went to ask the employee if they carried ironing board covers .. did'nt really speak English. The reviews are correct, they hire mostly east indians for tax breaks. 90% of their employees are punjab .. self explaining hiring policies. Shelves were bare of Great Value canned tomatoes. Keep increasing prices weekly. Last year GV chili tomatoes use to be 99c now they are close to $2. The last time I was there, employee yacking on their cell phone at the cosmetic counter. Real professional.

NOTICE HOW WE SAY THE ISLES ARE TOO SMALL , THEY DID NOTHING ABOOT IT. Then I see rice fall on a lady .... I reported the problem to grocery manager and he did nothing to stop it from happing again ...as you see it's a avalanche waiting to happen
