2nd edit: no, I'm saying you maintain a number of elderly and overweight clients because they are easy to take advantage of and that's what you do, take advantage of people for money while isolating higher level athletes who can easily see what's going on in your facility. I hope more people end up blowing the whistle on it too.Edit: as you see from the gym's response to my review, absolutely not nice people at all. Weird gym with weird coaches in a weird atmosphere. You should have just left your original reply, it was much more befitting of a crossfit establishment and i probably would have eventually just taken the review down. NOT ANYMORE LOL.Thanks for all the clever sarcasm though, KEVIN. I'll be sending your response along to Crossfit's head office, by the way. You absolutely CANNOT behave like this while representing the Crossfit organization. Have the day you all deserve. And I absolutely was a member of your gym and will prove it to google if necessary. THANKS. ENDProbably one of the oddest experiences I've ever had with a crossfit gym, and I have been to several over my number of years training the sport. If you're an experienced athlete like me simply looking to pick up the sport in a new location, don't bother. First, they subject you to a strange "testing out" system, where you have to schedule a one on one with an instructor who evaluates your form and placement into their levels program. It took over a week and a half to even get this set up, a week and a half of which I could have already been back into training. Then, whether they try to place you into their beginners program or insist on multiple one on one private sessions BEFORE you can start with their regular classes, you're already paying TWICE what you would for their normal monthly subscription. I've got 2 teenage kids at home so honestly the cost to get out of the house alone was worth it at first so I didn't mind, but it's definitely not a budget friendly establishment or even a normal crossfit experience in any sense. They also rely almost entirely on the levels program, which doesn't allow you to go above your skill level at any time, no if, ands, or buts about it, unless you're PAYING YET ANOTHER ADDITIONAL FEE to actually level up. Substitutions? Modifications? Forget about it. That kind of spirit is not appreciated there. What this all amounts to is a high turnover rate for them, with all of the real athletes eventually cycling out to proper gyms where they can actually thrive and grow their crafts. The unfortunate reality is that their head "coach" Kevin is a mid-level athlete at best who doesn't appreciate too many high level athletes hanging around making him look bad, given he has the physique of a boiled potato. You'll notice in all of their group photos that their athletes are simply elderly or heavily out of shape. It's all heavily controlled to Kevin's tastes unfortunately, and these poor saps take it because they haven't been to other gyms to know any better and are too elderly or out of shape to really excel anyways, and most are retired pensioners with the money to spend. This place is just a MESS all around. Avoid at all costs. I joined another crossfit gym in town and couldn't be happier. It's a great group of athletes from ALL levels, from the bottom to the top, with a well adjusted head coach at the helm who isn't totally ego and control driven like Kevin. Crossfit gyms are all affiliates of one organization, and should be welcoming and accessible for all. It seems like the more able-bodied you are, the more right they feel they have to subject you to their tests to even be allowed in. I'm sure if someone with a wheelchair came in, they wouldn't say, oh, you have to do a month of private sessions and then we'll see where you're at. It'd be outrageous. It seems like the higher of an athlete you are, the more money they feel confident to try to gouge out of you. Avoid.

As a 21 year old rugby player on a summer co-op in Moncton, I was looking for a CrossFit gym that was intense, welcoming, disciplined, fun, and had an overall good vibe. I got all I could ask for and more from CrossFit Moncton and would recommend taking the leap of faith for anyone who is on the fence. I had never been to CrossFit before and was skeptical as there are many stereotypes about people who train CrossFit. However, these simply did not exist/apply at CF Moncton. The people and trainers were humble, welcoming, strong, encouraging, and most of all honest. The trainers were unique and each brought a different style to the session which made me look forward to each training. You are encouraged but not forced to push your (and very specifically *your*) limits as the coaches have a fine tuned understanding of each persons abilities. I did not have one negative experience in my first 4 months of ever doing CrossFit and I attribute that to the incredible community that this gym has built.Highly highly recommend.

Relatively good gym to get started in the CrossFit world, I learned the basics necessary to get started. Their fundamentals program to start into the CrossFit world really prepared me to learn all the proper movements, the one on one coaching was really great.CrossFit Moncton was not the most welcoming place to say the least though. I did not feel the warm fuzzy feeling of acceptance at this gym. One of the head coaches made me feel as though she was bullying me on more than one occasion. On the third instance I chose to stop my membership and switch to a CrossFit affiliate elsewhere where I am a lot more accepted and coached in a proactive and welcoming manner, I will never regret my decision to switch. I can't say that about all of the staff though, I did have 2 favorite coaches that made me feel welcomed, gave me tips even when they were just in class alongside me and not coaching. The rest all seem to be a part of a group where if one person doesn't like you, all the rest don't either. I am not seldom in feeling this way, there are a few of my friends who joined around the same time as me that felt the exact same unwelcomed way, they stopped going before I even did. After gathering the courage to get out of my comfort zone and try something new, to push myself past my limits and try and improve my health and my mindset it was discouraging receiving this welcome.CrossFit Moncton follows the "level method" which at first, I was a great fan of, but in the end, it seemed like more of a money grab than anything. While in classes you can only perform the workouts that are prescribed for your color level, the coaches will not let you go above or beyond. It is very infrequent that you get the opportunity to "level up" to the level you know you could perform at... They started level up Mondays at an extra fee the last Monday of the month, where the coach let me level up my lowest categories levels, but you can't level up more than 3 levels at a time (not even a whole color category) so after spending money on trying to further my level color so I can work out to the capabilities I know that I can, I still was unable to.

I recently joined a CrossFit gym, and I must say, it has completely changed my perspective on working out. In the past, I have always been afraid of trying new gyms or fitness programs because I was worried about what I would look like or being judged by others. However, one morning in February, I woke up and grabbed my phone and texted Joanna- “ Ok. I’m ready now”I decided to give CrossFit a chance, and I am so glad I did.Initially, I had reservations about CrossFit being too intense for me. I was concerned that I might hurt myself or pass out due to the high intensity workouts. But as soon as I stepped into the gym, I met Coach Ingrid, who quickly became my workout hype girl for the first four classes of the fundamentals. Through those sessions, I discovered just how strong I really am.After those initial classes, I started the group class, and my apprehensions resurfaced. I was unsure about many things as I was still new to CrossFit. However, what I found in that class was a community of like-minded individuals who were all on different levels in terms of their physical strength and mindset. We were all there to better ourselves, compete with our own progress, and support each other along the way. They also review, coach and explain the movements in detail, especially when you need to be reminded daily. Oh and also to count what you are doing.I can proudly say that I am now a CrossFit lover, and I have found a new family in this gym. It's amazing how quickly I connected with the people there. I found my village, filled with individuals like Catherine and Ruth, and long time friend/colleague Josh who have become an integral part of my fitness journey. And of course, I can't forget Joanna, Kevin & Ingrid, who has been a constant support. In mindset and physical wellbeing! If you're hesitant about trying CrossFit or any new workout regimen, I want to assure you that it's not as scary as it may seem. The gym I joined has created a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is focused on their own progress. So, if you want to experience it for yourself, I invite you to join me on a buddy day. I promise to show you that CrossFit is an empowering and supportive fitness community. Just give me a call!

I was a regular at CFM from 2009-2015. Loved the atmosphere and coaching. I currently live in the US but when I’m back in Moncton for a visit - a workout at CFM is always part of my plan. Atmosphere and coaching are still top notch.

Crossfit Moncton was the place were I started my journey 11 years ago. Over the years I found myself leaving for reasons that were more about my "friends" problems than my own but I wanted to be with my friends so I left. After being away from CFM for 8 years I found myself looking for an accepting place to workout again after COVID. I found Kevin more than willing to accept me back and has been nothing but welcoming. After all these years it still feels like home and is one of my favourite places to be. All the coaches have been great as have been the other members. High fives all around after every workout and lots of companionship. So glad to have this place in my life.

After my own Crossfit gym closed its doors during the pandemic I was not sure what my next move would be. CrossFit Moncton came highly recommended by many friends of mine when I expressed to them that I was missing the sense of community that came with my former gym. Community was a key part of my fitness journey, people pushing me to get better, while watching others improve alongside me. I am now half a year into my new experience with CrossFit Moncton and can say that sense of community and welcome is very much a part of this gym's culture as well. I have loved getting to know the coaches and members and cheering each other on. I am very pleased with my new gym. I was nervous, but I quickly realized that CrossFit really is for everyone. They will work with you from where you are at and help you to grow and improve both your confidence and your strength.
