Smart movers staff are the very best! Jeff, the owner, was very professional and the guys were as quick as can be, took very good care of the move and didn't quit until the job was done. Highly recommend!

Movers arrived earlier then was discussed (nothing was ready yet, because we expected them 2 hrs later) on a small truck, so had to do few trips. Worked slow, traveled to destination like turtles. Overcharged for 1 hr. To all the questions answered "I don't care". When we had a dispute regarding overcharging me for 1 hour, I tried to call office during business hours, but for sure nobody answered the phone. To my question about why their manager not answering the phone, they said that he might be in church (at 5:20 pm on Tuesday ), but he always answered when they called him. Also they refused to provide a receipt. Movers refused to assemble the bed frame, and left 35 minutes earlier, they said that they don't have enough time to do this, because there is another charge (30 mins) for traveling to my place in the morning . For some reason they take only cash and etransfer. Terrible service, won't recommend.

Excellent service . Hired this company back in 2017 to move me from Windsor Ontario to Saint John and then again just last week from town to Quispamsis . Staff are friendly , professional and accommodating . I couldn't ask for a better service . I highly recommend this relocation company .

We moved from Toronto to Quispamsis in NB. Jeff, the owner, said our move would be in the $10,000-$15,000 price range. Our total invoice was closer to $21,000. Subsequently, we met people who moved a 5 bedroom house that paid $9,000 and the same distance. What's more is that Jeff stated he was fully insured if anything ended up damaged. Our 65" HD TV was broken. Jeff has hidden behind every excuse not to compensate us in any way. He states that we didn't pay to have it packed - but his men did pack it. He states that we didn't advise him in a timely fashion but we had boxes and furniture to sift throuh. Our shipment also came in 2 deliveries, 5 days apart because their first truck was 3/4 full of someone elses belongings. We did advise Jeff the very next day, after the second delivery. I asked for $600, recognizing the TV was a 2017. Jeff hid behind every excuse and what's more - he states we couldnt pass it through insurance. He insinuated that we broke our TV. Anything not to be professional about it.

THESE GUYS ARE SCAM ARTISTS! They overcharge, lie, deceive, and the owner "Jeff" is an arrogant and ignorant liar. He will swear, call names, talk over you, and put you down if you even attempt to dispute being overcharged, or damages. My brother and I hired this company to move the contents from a 1-bedroom apartment that was being held in a storage unit from Elmsdale Nova Scotia, to Orillia Ontario. The company had originally quoted us $1500, however, upon pickup they charged his credit card $4694.09. According to their initial paperwork, payment was to be processed at delivery, so to see this charge within an hour of pick up and no documentation to say that the load was received was nerve racking to say the least. The items were picked up on October 24th however, none of the items were tagged, the manifest was not provided, and no paperwork was provided to say that the load was even received. We tried to contact the business multiple times at multiple phone numbers over the next few days with absolutely no response. The delivery did end up showing up on the 27th, at which time the manifest and invoice was provided. When we tried asking the movers whom we needed to speak with to find resolution for the invoicing issue, the employees unloading the truck simply laughed and said, "good luck". According to their invoice, the total cubic footage of the load was 631.86 cubic feet at at $6.46 per cubic foot. This is not even a remotely accurate estimate of the load in question. We measured the cubic feet of the load item by item, which worked out to 297.7 cubic feet. The truck the items were delivered in was on 780 cubic feet, and the load did not even fill half of the trailer. We tried following up with them via email, and they would not respond. We tried calling them and when we finally got them on the phone, Jeff (the owner) simply yelled, threatened, called us names, used profanity, and hung up the phone. They charged us WELL above the accurate amount, and certainly well above the quoted amount. Again, we were quoted $1500, and even if this estimate was not in line with their price per cubic feet, we measured each and every item that was delivered and it was not even close to the proposed cubic footage. They have absolutely robbed us blind, deceived us, unlawfully charged us an obscene amount of money, and are not even willing to discuss anything or rectifying the issues.

I was quoted $1000 as an estimate with a list of furniture and the fact that I had a 10 by 20 storage. I paid a deposit $287 on my credit card. The truck was delayed, actually came the next day. I only ended up taking about 1/3 of my belongings as many were damaged and contaminated. I don't mind paying above the estimate . But they were only there for a little over an hour and within 2 hours my credit card was charged $2600!!! Not authorized by me!! According to reviews this owner Jeff Smith has done this to at least 4 others that I have found. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The guys were very polite, even with one commenting how they could've never lived where I lived for 10 yrs, and my new place, "well, it's a bit of an upgrade", opinions could've been kept to himself, but whatever. I had a two person team, one moved as slow as molasses, and the two of them often were chit chatting, laughing....I over all feel like the move could've gone quicker. Last move I pd $200, this one $330, same amount of stuff if not less, not that far off in dist. That being said, I suspect they slowed things down to up the price, (was kind of obvious), as I was paying by the hr. I had moved a lot of little things myself, so glad, or it would've been so much more expensive. Overall, I guess I would not recommend them, last movers I had were more professional and quicker, so knowing that there's better out there, I'd look elsewhere, as in the end, why pay more if you might not have too.

My experience dealing with Jeff has been disappointing. Here's the context and my experience using their services. The only redeeming thing was the people who actually did the work of moving. Very diligent young guys but they work for the wrong employer. I reached out to Jeff since I needed to move to Ontario in hurry. On his request, I sent him pictures of furniture and emailed him roughly how many items I needed to move along with a list. I got quoted about $3000 + tax. Since they added me into their schedule without much of a lead time, I understood when the truck did not arrive for pickup on the scheduled day. Stuff happens. Things just went downhill from there. 1. They charged my credit card for $2,000 without authorization. 2. Delivery date expectations were set multiple times over the next 10 days after pickup, but there was always an excuse of why they could not meet that expectation. 3. They then sent me a "revised" quote which was over 50% of the quoted price. With professional estimation, I expect a +/- 20% variation, but not 50%. Very unprofessional. 4. The truck finally arrived 15 days after pickup after I was coerced to pay a "discounted" and revised quote. 5. They lost a carton of books for which I did not receive any reimbursement. Jeff's response was and I quote, "... have already reduce your cost substantially for your move ..." and hence they would not provide me with compensation for my loss. Absolutely terrible customer experience. Buyer beware.

Fraud, extortion, theft. They quoted $3500 and after delivering 1/2 of the properties and receiving the full payment, they demand for $2000 more in order to deliver the rest of the properties or face destruction of those items.

Overall, my move from New Brunswick to Ontario with Smart Movers was disappointing. I found my dealings with the company to be disorganized and unprofessional. CONS: - I was quoted a guaranteed price and instructed I was to pay half upon pick up and half upon delivery. I was told several forms of payment, including credit card, were accepted. Upon pick-up, I had to remind the movers that I had to pay half of the balancing owing. They had no idea what I owed, nor did they have any means with which to accept payment or provide a receipt. I had to speak with the owner over the phone and provide him with my Visa information in order to pay. I had to specifically request a receipt for the payment as they did not intend to provide one. Upon receiving the receipt, I discovered that I was charged more than half of the quoted cost. Upon delivery, the company again attempted to overcharge me. They eventually explained the additional charge was a 4% service fee for paying via Visa. Despite only paying with Visa once (the first half owed), they had attempted to charge me this service fee twice (so 8%), as if I had made two Visa payments. I was not informed, at any point before or after paying with Visa, that an additional service charge would be accrued. Had I known, I would have selected a different form of payment. I had to put up a stink to have this charge removed from my total. - I was initially guaranteed a delivery time of 4-8 days after pick up. This was later extended to two weeks after pick up. In the end, delivery did not occur until 3 weeks after pick up. - Upon delivery, I discovered that the company had opened several of my packed boxes (without my knowledge or consent) and moved those items into garbage bags, which were then packed onto the truck. The garbage bags were removed from the truck ripped and full of holes. I was made to sign an Acknowledgment of Receipt waiver BEFORE having an opportunity to look in these garbage bags to see if all the items removed from the boxes had actually been moved into bags and delivered. PROS: - Shockingly, none of my items were damaged during the move, despite being moved in plastic bags. - The actual moving men, both at pick up and delivery, were very friendly.
