Pretty good selection, I enjoyed the books. However, some of the prices could be better

"We took away change rooms to reduce theft." 1 week later switch to 90% self checkout. Completely understaffed. Feel bad for the poor people who have to work at this dump.

With the prices of EVERYTHING going up lately, Value Village has become not terrible. Paid 40 dollars for 3 pairs of Old Navy jeans and a Reitman's sweater, all in perfect condition. If you know what to look for, then you will find cheap clothes. Huge selection due to the size of the store. There's no better options in the city (except maybe Frenchy's? Salvation Army is similar to VV but less stock). Value Village has always been branded and open about being for-profit, so anyone who donates/buys should realize that. It's not a perfect store, but it's the best we have in Saint John right now.

Too expensive for a second hand shop

Everything is becoming really overpriced, and they're really leaning on the eBay value of things, this isn't a community store anymore. It's clearly a business. The staff is always incredibly helpful and there are some good things to find, but you're paying $3 or $7 more on every small thing than you should. And the art is way overpriced. Nothing should be a hundred bucks or more in there, defeats the purpose. But what do I know??

Quick and prompt service to get checked out. I didn’t want self checkout so they made a human available for me. Greatly appreciate that human touch.
