I got a phone call today from this office canceling my childs appointment after we waited a month, they said they need to reschedule because their employee is going to be late the morning of the appointment which is fine, but they pushed my daughters appointment back another full month! You mean to tell me your entire day to day operations comes to a grinding halt pushing work back a month if one person is late for work? The icing on the cake was the fact these people don't service children under the age of 13 they only do cleanings the whole point of the appointment was for my daughters two cavities this is information i wish they told us when we told them why we were making the appointment. The staffs carelessness with patients and customer service makes curious what other mistakes are being made and how large those mistakes are. When i went to get a quote on 27th for straightening my teeth I waited a hour to be seen for my appointment two of their machines werent working which they needed to use to give me a quote i brushed off all of this ,but after recent events im starting to think a its a more systemic problem in the up keep of their equipment as well as complete lack of employee training. The whole experience has been appalling. I do not recommend this facility."Owner" passing on the "feed back"to staff doesn't fix the problem being proactive and figuring out why they're turning away customers that made appointments a month in advance due to your staff being late without giving a reasonable accommodation is unacceptable. Your underwhelming half heart bot response is exactly what I'd expect, this is a good indication of who trains the staff to show complete indifference to human lives impacted. Thank you for resolving none of my issues.

Edited this from 4 to 5 stars. They went up and beyond by calling other offices for me in order to save me from having to do it myself and from having to go to an emergency dentist after my tooth broke! Now that is worthy of a 5 stars!

Aspen Dental in Bedford, NH, is the right place to be! Kudos to the following staff members: Dr Saxena, who treated me as if I were her own mother; making sure that my bottom plate was fitted as perfectly as humanly possible. Lab Tech, Nick, who is seldom seen behind the scene but does such outstanding work in making the plates and the adjustments to same. DA's, Taylor and Mara, who are both soft-spoken and gentle and caring. Though her name escapes me, I cannot forget the pleasant receptionist who smilingly greets each and every patient. What more could anyone possibly ask! I highly recommend these staff members to anyone in need of dental care. Congratulations, Aspen Dental, for hiring such caring and competent staff for your Bedford, NH, office!

ETA: We went to a different within-network dental practice in our area after-the-fact and, lo and behold, we got a preliminary bill while we sat there that showed our out-of-pocket expenses would be $0, with zero cavities.Aspen Dental is the used car salespeople of dentistry. I'm sure their dentists are fine, but it's the business model that seems like some sort of Multi-Level-Marketing scam where they have to upcharge you so their downline can make money. We were new to New Hampshire and learned Aspen Dental took our insurance. Great, all is well. I didn't realize at first it was a chain, but even better--there were more offices we could go to to get us all in sooner, as we were about a month overdue for our 6-month check-up. Plus, I like the online system, it's easy for cancelling and setting up appointments. That's where the "good" ends, though. My husband and I have three kids. Sure, there are occasional cavities, but in general we have minimal dental needs. My son had an appointment at the Bedford, NH office the day before he went back to college. I didn't realize the "new patient" appointment was simply a sales tactic disguised as an exam, not an actual cleaning--you have to set up a separate appointment for that. I'm used to being asked if the patient has had x-rays in the last 6 months, which he had, but they did them unprompted. Not that big of an offense but all dentists I’ve been to before have always asked me this question before taking them, so I was surprised that they didn't. Granted, they need x-rays to know what they're dealing with so I'm not too offended by that, it's the cost for the remainder that I can't figure out. When we used Metlife for our insurance, we only paid out of pocket for appliances such as mouth guards. Our new insurance, GEHA, covers even more, so I can't figure out how this Aspen Dental Math is mathin'. Our insurance covers all cleanings/x-rays/basics at no cost to us, with zero deductible within network, and we are only only supposed to pay 20% for fillings. Our son is the most diligent person I have ever seen when it comes to oral health. He is that one person who actually flosses. Every day. Twice a day.So he is finished with his exam and comes out. The "saleswoman" has me sit down. She tried to upcharge me an electronic toothbrush--"it's WAAAAAY better than the ones on Amazon," she says. And some $42 mouth wash. I declined. They said he had two small cavities, which was surprising but believable. And that he needed a "deep clean." She then quoted it as more than $1000. Then, to make it seem like, look at what a bargain Aspen Dental is, she said "oh don't worry, that's without insurance figured in." Once she factored in the insurance (acting like it's a great deal she is offering instead of something we pay monthly for), the grand total for a cleaning and two fillings was brought down to just shy of $500 (!).I mean...the cleaning is supposed to be free. Why in the world he would need a "deep cleaning" is beyond me, as he had been seen within the past year and is very diligent about his oral health. I wanted a breakdown of the cost and I asked for it over the phone. They sent it to me. It actually came to $328.30 (which is still high, at least, we've NEVER paid that much for routine cleaning/fillings and we've had kids for 19 years...) so I'm perplexed why she quoted it as almost $500? Was she going to pocket the difference? The breakdown of cost was ridiculous, like $23 per ever quadrant of his mouth for gingivitis (never once been told he has gingivitis but suddenly he has it all over the place?).Bottom line: we will not be returning for our cleaning. Proceed at your own risk. They seem to try to cram in as many procedures as possible to pocket the cash.
