If you have another company as an option go with that. This company takes advantage of new customers. They don’t tell you important info so then they can charge you extra fees and when you tell them they never explain it to you. They say “Well now you know so take this charge as a learning lesson”. I shouldn’t have to pay out of my pocket to learn things you should tell new customers. Maybe send your customers an info packet instead of leaving them in the dark and blaming the customer and charging them for it. Highly don’t not recommend.~ Update to owner response belowNo one ever reached back to me so I had to call myself again until I got it resolved. Wish the service team cared more about customers than replying to reviews with more promises they can’t keep. My review will not change and hope it helps someone not make the same mistake I did.

Absolutely the worst company my wife and I have ever done business with. At the beginning of October they cam to our residence to install a 500# propane tank. They also ran 2 propane lines. One for our home and one for our generator. A couple days later they filled the tank. They informed us that they would not be able to make connections to the house or generator until November 13 as they had a full schedule. Today November 13. They show up and hook the propane to the house but did not connect the generator. I called the office to find out what was happening as they knew that they ran 2 lines. The office informs me that they needed to get a couple parts and the soonest they could return was mid January. Needless to say. We will be getting a new propane company that is competent I don't recommend Dead River to anyone that has to deal with the Bristol NH office.

On may 12th was quoted and paid for propane tank install and delivery by Dead River company. Here it is July 1st after 3 tech visits and still no propane and now without any hot water. I spoke to Jason who was helpful in person and was going to try and get the current price which was now over $750 (before yet another technician visit) down to the price I was originally quoted. Biggest issue was every time a technician came out they wanted one more thing done so had to schedule a time to come back and do a little more. Spoke to Jason in person and was told the unit only needed to be fired to adjust the regulator. Advised him the unit could be fired and that if anything else was needed I was 20 minutes away and would come back and do what was needed. Well tech showed up checked gas lines again (3rd time now twice by dead river and once by local fire dept.) advised the unit was not plumbed into the house. Explained that I could not plumb it into the house yet as I currently have an oil furnace and to switch over before I had propane would leave me and my 8 month old daughter without water. Explained clearly he could either use the isolation valve on the unit itself or I installed a ball valve on the hot water side and he could use that to generate flow to fire the boiler. Tech seemed to be fine with the process. Received a call from Jason over an hour after I had spoken with the Tech. Jason was now advising they wouldn't fire the system unless the unit was plumber into the house. I explained to him the same that it would leave me without water. Jason wasn't concerned, advised to call when it was set up and they would get out here. But wait there's more. Now they need to see a combustion analysis for the boiler (yet another step, after I specifically asked Jason if there was anything else they needed today besides to fire the boiler, and I was told no.) So July 1st rolls around. I take a day off of work and plumb the new boiler into the house, and buy a manometer to conduct a combustion analysis test. I call Jason and advise it's all set, now he has an attitude on the phone stating they came out yesterday and nothing was done and now I would have to wait until "sometime next week" I outright told him that he was told yesterday if I plumbed the new boiler into the house it would leave me without hot water, and he made no mention that I would be a week before he could have another technician come out. Then I was advised I needed to talk with someone else and that he (Jason) was in a meeting. So now I'm coming into a Holiday weekend. Out $1000, still have no propane to my house, have no hot water, have an 8 month old daughter, I have to drive 25 min to bring her to take a bath and the remedy is "they can be out sometime next week". Well that's unacceptable to me and I would rather go through the hassle of not having any hot water and wait for another company to have the availability to do a job they could have had done a month ago then put another dime in their pocket. Worst customer service and professionalism I have seen in a long time. I would suggest you go with anyone else besides Dead River for any of your home heating needs because they obviously have very little care or concern for their paying customers.

Worst oil company EVER!! I HATE them and will NEVER do business with them again! Called to get a delivery and paid ahead, only to have them come out twice in one day to deliver, and both times they had the access to and no reason not to but just didn’t bother! Made us wait two more days to come back when we were already running on fumes because they’re so incompetent and unprofessional! The next time we needed more oil we called, only for them to say they put a stop delivery on our account because of their issue from the previous time, that was already supposedly resolved and taken care of, but apparently not because they can’t ever seem to get on the same page! Absolutely most definitely taking our business elsewhere!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews because there is almost always an explanation as to why an experience didn’t pan out but I’ll be honest, I’ve spent the last 8 hours trying to find something positive to say before making this review and I have nothing. So here’s the backstory: I woke up this morning to a 50° house. No heat or hot water. After checking the basics with my furnace with nothing obvious to note, I reached out to the company who last serviced my furnace (AD&G Fuel) and asked for assistance. AD&G merged with Dead River for those who are wondering and I spoke to two different women who were both very pleasant and helpful (mostly). Here’s where things turned south; After establishing that I hadn’t had my furnace serviced in 3 years from them and that I don’t buy my fuel from them, they “would not be able to help me, but should reach out to whoever does fill my oil” (For what it’s worth, the company who delivers my fuel is great but they don’t do service work otherwise they would have been my first call. I ended up using the company I use for fuel because 5 years ago - when I purchased my home - I called AD&G for a fuel delivery and for one reason or another, they couldn’t do it/would take too long to come out) So, not only would they not send someone out to look at my no heat concern when it was single digits over night, they didn’t even make an attempt to gain me as a customer or offer to become my fuel delivery source. Thank you AD&G and Dead River - I’ll make sure no one else thinking of becoming a customer with you makes that mistake.

This is my first experience with Dead River Co. and I have to say I found nothing but great service so far. They Installed a new Rinnai wall furnace, tank and gas line, arrived as scheduled and installation went perfect! The employees are super friendly and a pleasure to work with, keep up the good work. Oh by the way the Rinnai heater works Fantastic, heats the whole house amazing! Thanks Dead River. Bob

I have a smaller tank as well have a summer home. This spring was exceptionally cold so I required more deliveries. Dead River always came thru.
