The setting (on the river), the luxury of the room (hand-milled soaps and all), and the proximity to The Common Man Restaurant made for a fabulous stay. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and professional. This was the perfect ending to our trip.

When I arrived to check in right before midnight m, I was distraught to see the sign in the door that there is a free roaming cat! I am allergic to cats, very allergic. I was having a bit of a meltdown at the desk because it couldn’t be guaranteed that my room didn’t ever have the cat in it. My husband and I contemplating on what to do and ask the front desk clerk, Faith, where the closest emergency room is. We started to look for somewhere to else to rent a room but it proved difficult because there really isn’t anything near. Finally, Faith offered to put us in a different building, above the restaurant, where the cat does not go. I am grateful to her for making that accommodation for me. The room was clean and beautiful with the fireplace. I appreciated the continental breakfast.

I stayed in room 117 from 2/24-2/27. The inn is cozy. The attached restaurant is very tasty. Cute little Continental breakfast. The coffee choices of green mountain kinda suck. It's very cheap overly roasted and bitter. The room I stayed in had the absolute worst mattress. There was a HUGE depression in it where countless folks have stayed. I was able to shove half a pillow down in it. It felt like I was sleeping on a hammock. I'm surprised it hasn't been changed as I'm not that picky about mattresses. Look at the attached photos. You'll see how the edges of the made bed are much higher than the centers where people would normally sleep. I found it pretty noisy with kids yelling and screaming up above me. That's not the hotels fault but lack of saying something to those individuals is. Consider the chase house bed and breakfast up in Cornish instead. It's a bit far out but it was much quieter and the mattresses was more comfortable. The chess game with salt and pepper shakers was kinda fun.

I’m so very thankful for Courtney! We were having a bbq at my house and last minute my grandmother decided she wanted to make the trip up with her nephew to come see me! My grandmother and her nephew needed a place to stay for one night as we didn’t have enough beds for both of them. There was not a single hotel or bed-and-breakfast in the area with a vacancy nor that would rent a room for 1 night. I called and spoke to Courtney and she was very accommodating and made it happen! My family thanks you very much Courtney!

Stayed here twice in order to go to the artisan festival at Mt Sunapee. The Inn is cool inside with beams, hardwood flooring, brick walls and huge windows all left from this old mill town. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Breakfast comes with the room and right now due to this never ending pandemic it's "grab and go". The rooms are spacious, have great AC and plantation shutters. They also have small refrigerators and coffee pots. The only negative is the mattress needs replacing and the area surrounding the hotel is rundown.

The rooms are very comfortable and retain the character of the mill building where it is located. Spacious room, nicely equiped bathroom. My only criticism is the TV--does not offer HD programming which makes it very difficult to watch.

This place is a real gem. It is a beautifully and correctly renovated old mill. They kept all of the character and lots of the old features without sacrificing modern conveniences. Our room (224), had a full view of a waterfall on the river. The staff was also super nice. I highly recommend this inn if you are in the neighborhood.

We are huge fans of the Common Man restaurant and decided on a weekend at their inn in Claremont. The positives: extremely clean, following Covid guidelines. Gas fireplace was great. The negatives: we had the Sunapee Suite. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. As the room was huge and the 32 inch tv a good 16 feet away, tv viewing was minimal. There was absolutely no decor in the room. Not a picture. Nothing. It was gloomy at best. For $260 per night I expected better.

We would recommend the Terrace Suite absolutely breath taking view and very, very spacious! The front staff Ethan, Christian, Katrina and wonderful house keeper made this all be a reality in these challenging times! Also a huge bonus our photos came out phenomenal thanks to our photographer Courtney Magooon & our wonderful grounds to work with

Great place to stay. Staff were polite and personable. Rooms were modest but quite comfortable. Breakfast options were great for a quick bite and restaurant and bar were great onsite food options as well.

We stayed here while attending a wedding and overall were pleased. The rooms very comfortable and had a very cozy vibe and the hotel itself was clean and quiet. The things that kept this from being 5 stars - there is no information folders in the room or hotel. Usually you get something to show you places to eat and visit or even the tv channels but there was nothing like that to speak of. I also found a $50 charge to my card that they have yet to find a reason for but the stay was nice and the staff were friendly for the most part.
