Possibly the strangest retail experience of my life. In preparation for a wedding and wanting something a little more special than a Men's Warehouse or Macy's suit, I made an appointment with Ray.Upon arrival, he locked up the front door to the store as a thoughtful gesture that I had his attention. I took off my sweater and he handed me a suit coat off the rack, which fit incredibly well considering he was just eyeballing my size. He asked then me my budget, $800-1200, which seemed to trigger a sharp change in his demeanor. Shortly, he explained that a custom suit would start at around $1000, which I said would be fine. He asked the location of the wedding, I told him we're having a small party in the back yard, to which he replied "yes, weddings are expensive". Maybe it wasn't intended to be patronizing , but combined with the rest of my experience there it seemed at the very least like an insensitive thing to say.As the appointment went on I brought up that I was fairly unsure of the direction I would like to go with my suit, whether trendier or more formal, and whether I would like a classic grey or a muted hunter green. I explained that I had made this appointment hoping for some guidance in the process and the choices available. He told me that the green would only be available in rayon, custom order, and had me try on a stock jacket of the same material, which felt noticeably lower quality than the previous jacket. We never discussed the pros and cons of materials, various fits, or various suppliers. I came with a folder of inspiration photos on my phone which he did not ask to see for context (he didn't ask for any reference as to what I was looking for, for that matter). I repeatedly tried to politely explain that I am largely naive to suiting and looking for guidance, but was increasingly met with short answers. This culminated in my fiancee arriving, maybe 10 minutes into the appointment. Ray was folding a random shirt by the front door and did not greet her. I asked "So what are the next steps here?" to which he replied "You have a lot of things to think about." Like yeah dude, that's why I'm here. From my experience, Britches seems like a perfect place to go if you have a particularly large budget and/or know exactly what you are looking for. Ray clearly has an eye and knows the ins and outs of suiting, but doesn't seem to be particularly interested in sharing that knowledge, at least with someone making even slightly less than six figures.

I was in Concord exploring the downtown and came across Britches of Concord. Beautiful and high quality clothing for women. Amazing customer service - I actually forgot my sunglasses and they tracked me down at a restaurant to return them. I will be back!

So awesome to work with. I got so many compliments on the suit. I will be finding more reasons to go back for another suit.

We had such a great experience working with Ray at Britches in Concord, NH coordinating our wedding suits. All 5 suits were selected, coordinated, altered, pressed, and delivered on time for men from Hawaii to Alaska to NH. Ray worked his magic ensuring alterations were done in as little as 2-days and delivered during the holidays. We can’t thank you enough, Ray, for helping make our day perfect!

Ray is the consummate professional assistant. His suggestions show his in depth knowledge of both his clients and his offerings. My only regret is that I didn’t post this review sooner.

I went to the Britches of Concord looking to get a custom suit for my wedding. Ray was great to work with in all aspects - relaxed, thoughtful, and detail oriented. My now wife still exclaims that no other pants make my butt look so fine - thanks Ray!

I feel fortunate to have been a customer of Britches of Concord for the last fifteen years. I think what keeps me coming back can be summed up in one word: trust. I trust Ray to accoutre me in a manner that befits my professional needs. He is familiar with my style and my budget, and has an encyclopedic memory of all the purchases I have made over the years and how to match what I currently own. I love shopping at Britches. Even when I do not purchase anything, it is always a pleasure to spend some time talking with Ray.Dr. Philip Cate Huckins

This is probably the nicest mens store in southern New Hampshire. Ray has quite the eye for fine traditional mens wear with just the right amount of modern flair. The prices are higher but only because the quality is absolutely top notch! My husband works in NYC a couple weeks every month and is constantly complimented on his wardrobe from Britches. Ray also has a wide selection of scarves, belts, hats etc that make for excellent gift giving. Super friendly and attentive service to everyone that comes in the front door.

Coming from the Havard Square area of Cambridge MA and having lived in London and New York I believe this shop holds up to any fine Men's haberdashery and would highly recommend this store's personal elegant style and service.

High fashion aficionados: Here's the deal ! Expect a richer wardrobe assortment than Saks 5th Ave or even Richard's of Greenwich. The value in what Ray Boucher offers in textile craftsmanship outstrips what the big box retailers will sell at volatile prices. The experience with Britches is energizing.
