I dropped off my car for a new muffler and a halogen headlight bulb replacement, and was called back 15 minutes later with a quote of over $1,000 for those and a slew of other issues which they wanted to take care of that day. I expressed my concern over the cost, and they suggested I apply for a payment plan. I declined most of the extras but still ended up paying $850.
The employees were communicative and took good care of my vehicle, but I don't have a lot of respect for repair shops that rush customers to make expensive decisions, or lay on a sense of -urgency for non-urgent issues.
For comparison, when I last visited the Midas in Keene, the mechanic kindly let me know about a hole in my muffler when I arrived to pay for only the services they scheduled me for. He even walked me over to my car to show me the problem, and just suggested I get it replaced soon and let me know about potential complications if I didn't replace it.
I wish I had just declined all the services and gone somewhere else (anyone else think $130 for a single halogen bulb change is ridiculous?). But with my bumper-stickered Toyota Prius in the hands of a mechanic in a Trump shirt at a seemingly all male workplace, I didn't feel like it would be a good or safe idea to walk back in alone and tell them I was going elsewhere.
As another reviewer suggested, it seems like they take advantage of younger women who don't know a lot about cars. If you don't know much about your vehicle, I'd recommend avoiding this place and looking for a mechanic who wants their customers to know how their vehicles work.
I get that it's more profitable to keep your customers uneducated, but it's not the most dignified way to run a business.

Loved these guys. Super helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and customer service was excellent (I was passing through town and needed car help). I also heard them tell another customer they'll order an Uber for you for free if you have to leave your car. Highly recommend. Thanks Dave and team!

Took my car to get a NH state inspection. Had to wait 20 minutes to get started because the front desk person (Pat) was too busy flirting with a woman who hit a deer going down 89 a couple weeks ago. After she left, he wouldn't stop talking about how hot she was.
Regardless, after waiting an hour, my inspection results came back and Pat failed to explain them to me correctly. He said I failed for an OBD light (which was true) but failed to explain the other laundry list of items one of the techs put on my inspection report. Took my car to another mechanic the next week and passed with no issues. (They even fixed my OBD light).
Never taking my car here again.

The employees were good, but for mounting and balancing 4 tires that I brought myself, I thought $200 was a little excessive. When I said something about it, the employee knocked off $25 which was appreciated, but still seems pretty steep. $160 in labor seems a bit much.

Came here to get routine maintenance done on my Honda Civic. Pat was very friendly both in person and over the phone. Service was quicker than expected. Ended up needing to get another part fixed and Pat gave me a thorough explanation and showed me what was wrong and even offered to speak to my father for me over the phone, since I was unsure and wanted a second opinion. I’m very glad that I came here and I would recommend going here for friendly car service.

Service was excellent. I walked in for a car inspection-they took me in immediately. I was shown everything that needed to be addressed eventually, and everything was explained to me in an easy-to-understand way. Will be returning for future work needs and inspections from here on out!
