Girls with the desk were pretty rude, they seemed pretty experienced the training there is clearly lacking. Yes, facility however looks great, but the staff... (besides two of the animal care technicians) shouldn't be working with the public or, quite possibly animals.

I am homeless at this time and if it wasn't for their safe pets program I would lose my emotional support cat.

Pope is a NO kill shelter. They take care of a multitude of different animals until their adopted. They also help families with pets that are having a hard time feeding their pets. Keep up the great work Pope!

I tend to read negative reviews first, you want to see if they show a common trend, and you can generally tell which comment to believe over others, in every negative comment I read they ALL have the same to say, rude employees and a run down facility, then you want to read the positive reviews, it takes a lot of time reading reviews before you learn what to look for with those who post "FAKE" reviews to help the business, first the employees will post 5 star reviews, then, if it's a "franchise," they'll have employees from their other stores/shops post reviews on theirs, and then they have their friend and families from ALL stores do the same to get as many positive reviews they can rack up, one thing I've noticed with these comments here, most negative comments say they rarely have many animals to choose from, but yet there are HUNDREDS of 5 star reviews, I see that as a "RED FLAG"I'd hope to be proven wrong in believing this by seeing a random, non announced inspection by a licensed organization like PETA, or possibly the GAME WARDEN to either verify or deny these accusations I've read in the 1 and 2 star reviews.

What’s the point of having a business if you don’t answer the phone ? I’ve called 8 times for a surrender. Sad . Very sad

Called and showed up on multiple occasions to inquire on adopting a rescue animal. Left my number twice. I can understand people are busy but how about giving someone a text or a 30 second phone call?

Pope memorial was amazing. I recently inherited a cat from my mom who passed suddenly and as he is an indoor/outdoor cat. Within an hour of being let out someone brought him to pope memorial - where they scanned him and his microchip sent an email to my mothers email. I was extremely upset because she loved this cat , they were great at calming me down, reassuring me everything was ok. He had matting that needed to be seen to, the care they put forth towards this cat brings me to tears. I was so worried about him but he truly was in the best hands. They loved him, took care of him, helped his fur and understood the complex situation I was in. Nikki & Amy were very kind . I truly can’t thank you enough. Here he sits on my lap purring and I can’t stop crying knowing there’s still beautiful people in the world who want to truly help. Thank you.

This is the place I adopted my cat from! She was considered unadoptable because she was brought back so many times and me and my late fiance were told she might not work out. But she jumped right into his lap when he opened the cage and she's been wonderful ever since! I really like the care they give the animals here. And the volunteering opportunities are great, too. I haven't been back since they moved into the new building but I've heard good things!
