My first time eating here ( Toll Booth Tavern "Fine Dining" in Francistown ) tonight and i informed the waitress about that and told her i heard good things. She smiled and said i'm sure you will enjoy it. So I ordered the BBQ bacon burger medium well, sticky fingers, and potatoe skins, and a mai tai. The sticky fingers were very good so i cant complain about those however that's where the good stops. With a new restaurant i visit i give them three strikes and i don't go back if they strikeout. Maybe they just cant handle being busy or I'm not sure why they screwed up badly tonight but being a first time customer and knowing that because i told them i was.. you would think they would at least try to make good food. Strike 1. I ordered a medium well and when the burger came and it was pink and very soft pretty much rare and cold. I hate pink meat i like it cooked and mine definitely was not. When she brought a replacement burger back the bacon was as limp it looked like a used trojan and they did not include the fries that's supposed to come with the burger! Strike 2. The drink (Mai Tai) was waaay to strong i don't drink at home at all but occasionally i like a drink when i go out for dinner but this one was pure alcohol. I'm sure some people would of enjoyed that but not me as I'm not an alcoholic. Strike 3. The potatoe skins were barely warm almost like they microwaved it but to my amazement the sour cream that came with them was frozen solid. I asked her for some fresh sour cream and she brought it. I should of asked for her to have my potatoes heated up some more from chef "mic" Strike 4. I ordered a plate of food for my wife to go as she was not with me and my company tonight. I ordered her the Chicken Piccata. When i took it home to her and opened it we were shocked.. The pasta looked like boxed macaroni from Market Basket and with it a tiny piece of chicken. She bit into it and immediately spit it out and said that it was chewy and tasted like it was past its expiration date by days. This made me furious as they charged us 18 dollars for that sad excuse for a plate. Side note my Father ate here once and got a piece of fish which he enjoyed but it gave him a sick stomach for 2 days ish. While sitting in the restaurant i overheard another customer saying that last time he got the fish it made him sick as well.. Bottom line here is i really think they cant handle being busy and they probably need to have the board of health take a look in their kitchen because I'm pretty sure they will find subpar food and or expired food. "Fine Dining"... HAH

Didn't realize how pricy this place would be for the food you get. Would not recommend. Service was fine, atmosphere was ok, there were a bunch of dudes watching sports in a room hanging out. It's basically a bar more than a restaurant. If you like overpriced golf course food, this is your spot!

My husband and I went to dinner. We started with fried pickles as an appetizer, then I had the chicken stir fry (listed as a special), and he had a steak and cheese sub with onion rings. The food came out quickly and our server was friendly.

Used to be a fun place to visit and enjoy a great meal. Too many staff changes. Sorry, our waitress was awesome, but, disappointed.

6 of us went to dinner there. While the food was good it was the billing that turned out to be very suspect. I was charged $2.00 for a glass of water..when I questioned it, I was told that the first one was free. 2 others ordered the prime rib, and were billed 2 different prices, the explanation was that their side potatoes were different. One mashed, the other roasted. I hope the $2.00 water was worth it. There are so many good restaurants to choose from, I think that I won't be back.

Two dirt roads to get there and then beautiful. Live band, great drinks and fabulous food. Oh and there is golf too!!

Great locals focused restaurant, on the original tool road connecting Boston to Montreal. Fresh local ingredients, serving sizes SOLID, and affordable. Best part though is the locals, very engaging. A Tavern is a bar with food so if you are sensitive to overhearing adult conversations ask to be seated in the restaurant side. Place is over 300 years old.

Simply GREAT A 300 year old historic Tavern that sits on one of New Englands original toll roads. A Tavern by definition is a bar that sells food, the food here is "elevated", tasty, plentiful, locally sourced and affordable. This place caters to the locals and they set this place apart, over gracious and engaging. Ate here three time's for the food and good local conversations. It's a Tavern they have a restaurant side, use common sense if you don't want your children to be exposed to Bar topics move to the restaurant. Food is exceptional, variety expanded, staff engaged, locals hilarious. We Loved, Loved, Loved this Tavern.

Ok what a find! This like the name says is a Tavern, another name for a bar. This one is over 300 years old and happens to sit on a dirt road that was one of New England's original toll roads connecting Boston to Montreal. Best menu description I have is "Elevated" bar food. The Tavern caters to a loyal local community of loggers, farmers and wandering golfers. Food is local! plentiful! and affordable I couldn't finish my $18 HUGE fish and chips! Staff is friendly, but the best thing about this place is the locals! Hey it's a Bar, if you've never been to one you might find conversation loud and opionated, but these folks are over the top friendly! Ate here 3 times, LOVED the food and conversations with the locals
