Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC) offers a one-of-a-kind, rustic lake experience that takes guests back to an earlier era, like summer camp for families. This is not a typical resort; it is a historic, family-oriented camp focused on disconnecting from digital devices to reconnect with nature, family, and multigenerational friendships. The private cabins are no-frills, featuring beds, dressers, box fans, and old-school iceboxes instead of refrigerators. The experience is intentionally analog, with weak cell signals and Wi-Fi only at the office, encouraging guests to go outside and enjoy the beautiful Squam Lake location. Guests can swim, boat, play sports like tennis or pickleball, hike nearby trails, or simply relax on their private dock. The camp provides many organized activities and has helpful, friendly staff everywhere, including an outdoor crew that restocks firewood and lake ice daily. There are two central dining halls serving gourmet buffet-style meals, with many beverages but no sodas, seltzer, or alcohol permitted in common areas. While some find the on-property food disappointing, several restaurants are located a few miles away. The camp is safe and walkable, though some trails are not handicap accessible. It remains relatively unchanged, preserving its 1800s-style, pampered rustic charm for those who return year after year.
Best glamping experience ever!Rustic, but not too rustic. Love having an ice box instead of a fridge; keeps the hum of modern appliances and fixtures down. Great place to relax, create, write, reflect and play.

Our family has been to RDC for generations and loves it. It's always a pleasure to have so many family friendly sports and activities, and to have staff that are so helpful and accommodating. The cabins are also wonderful.
