The Black Mountain ski resort is a top notch ski resort with the most amazing employees! I do not ski but my 10 year old nephew wanted to try it out as we were visiting NH during school vacation. We arrived early but the window was already open and the woman at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Being that I had never been before, she explained the package that would be best for my nephew and told us that we could upgrade if needed. My nephew started on the 2 bunny slopes but being new, he came down the wrong way. A medic came over to check on him and realized my nephew needed some help navigating the slopes. Medic Bob took my nephew under his wing and before I knew it, he was on the lift to go down the regular slope. We upgraded his pass and he never looked back! As I was watching, Bob would often ride on the lift with him and come down the slope teaching him every step of the way! The staff gave my nephew the nickname of "William the Conqueror" as he developed a love of the ski slope. I am forever grateful to this guardian angel who watched over my nephew the entire day! Thank you Bob and thank you Black Mountain for an amazing, unforgettable day for both me but especially my nephew!!!

The soul of skiing is still alive at Black Mtn. The terrain is very interesting and even the greens are fun to ski. Great grooming and zero crowds so the corduroy held up until late in the day. We loved that there were no lift lines and had fun at the Lostbo Cabin. We did have a few less then pleasant experiences with the bar manager and the bartender in the main lodge but we think they were just grumpy and overworked/understaffed.

This place is awesome, very unique vibe. No crowds, great people, good tunes and good eats. Stop in the lostbo pub for a drink and a break.

We recently had an unforgettable ski experience at Black Mountain Ski Area, and it's a gem worth celebrating. The historic charm of the place adds a unique touch to the adventure. The old-school lifts transport you to a different era, creating an authentic and nostalgic atmosphere. What truly sets Black Mountain apart is its incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and eagerness to assist made the entire experience exceptional. Every team member went above and beyond, ensuring we had a seamless and enjoyable time on the slopes. It's heartwarming to see such dedication from a family-owned Ski Area. We can't stress enough how important it is to support places like Black Mountain. Let's rally together to keep this charming piece of skiing history alive – don't miss the chance to experience the magic and help preserve this wonderful Ski Area!

Friday Night Lights is an awesome experience. Just enough light markers. No frills and serenely epic after a few inches of fresh powder, no better combo.Took about 45min to climb to the hut, great workout and not too difficult.

With all of the big mountains being bought out by conglomerates andBleached of their personality and pricing out many locals from skiing there. We still have Black Mountain. Been a regular skier here for almost 2 decades. Black is a Quintessential mid sized New England mountain. I have, and always will support this mountain. It not the biggest, its not the baddest, it's not the fanciest ( that is not what skiing is about) but every run is quality, the tree skiing is quick and tight, and their groomers are always quality. Most affordable day on the slopes in the Conway Valley. Come here, enjoy a full day of just having straight up fun.

Nice midsized family owned ski area. The slopes generally face south, so expect a nice sunny ski day with less wind. We used our Freedom Pass to ski free, but Wednesday and Thursday lift tickets were just $30! With feet of snow from the previous week, the conditions were excellent. It was uncrowded as well, for we were two of roughly twenty other people on the hill that day.

Great resort with plenty of glades and varieties of terrain. View from the top is great, nice lodges, tasty food and drinks with friendly people. Only suggestion I'd make is to increase snowmaking and grooming capabilities. Overall great, I recommend.

Had a great time at this mountain! Loved learning about all the history and being able to ski right down to the horse stables. Summit had excellent views of Mount Washington.

We used to love skiing at Black Mountain, the terrain is fun and they used to be very affordable and customer friendly. Unfortunately, now they are charging $85 for a lift ticket, and they have come up with a policy that you aren't allowed to eat your own food in the lodge or even on the deck, so if you want to eat food there, you have to purchase their very overpriced cafeteria food. They claim this is due to state regulations, but no other ski area seems to have this restriction. It's hard to justify going there now when other nearby ski areas like Black Mountain of Maine and Mount Abram have more vertical drop, no restrictions on food, better snowmaking, more natural snow, and much more affordable ticket prices. Black Mountain of Maine costs $55, and Mount Abram is just $35, less than half of what Black, NH is charging now!

This is a fun mountain, it's not particularly high or steep but has lots of fun runs, and is always less crowded in neighboring mountains like wildcat and Attitash

Lift attendant was very nice, helpful too. But other customer services just will not do. The girls at the ticket window were somewhere between apathetic and rude. Showing up late for work, while customers waiting to be viewed, sauntered along like the queen about to skew, those of whom dare to be in the room. Conditions were good, and groomed very well, after an addition of new snow, surely fell.
