We stayed in 705 in the Fairlawn building. We’ve stayed in this exact room several times, and each stay seems to be a little more lacking. That said, we continue to book the Fairlawn for the upgraded amenities, like the private hot tub, separation from the main inn, and the steam shower. For this stay, the steam shower was broken and most of the jets in the hot tub are damaged with very little pressure. The room was also very warm, so we tried turning down the heat so we could enjoy the fireplace, but the temp. in the room kept increasing. I tried to turn on the AC just to take the edge off, but it wouldn’t engage, so we resorted to opening windows. Needless to say, we never even turned on the fireplace. I called the front desk, and they immediately offered to send someone to fix the hot tub but couldn’t do anything about the steam shower, so I asked that they wait until our stay is over to avoid disrupting our weekend getaway. The staff seemed a bit put-off by this request, and they did not offer much in the way of apologies for the inconvenience. They also didn’t seem to understand that I was contacting them so they could line-up repairs for future guests. I just feel as though the higher price to stay at a place with luxury upgrades that don’t work is really unfortunate, especially when the newer, main inn suites cost a bit less with similar amenities. Some noticeable improvements are the facilities at the main inn. The common areas are beautiful with excellent decor and several places to gather with a group or tuck away by yourself. The Bar service is excellent. Also, room reservations no longer come with automatic complimentary breakfast at the inn restaurant. For us, this worked well since we were able to try Yesterdays on Main Street, which was delicious and very walkable. To compensate for the discontinuation of comped breakfast at the restaurant, there was a plentiful, complimentary pantry at the Fairlawn. The snacks, drinks, and fresh homemade goodies are a very nice treat, and help to offset the cost of paying the same price for the room with a breakfast. There was plenty provided at the pantry, especially for those who enjoy a lighter breakfast. We will likely return in a few years for a getaway, but I think we’ll just stay in the nicer rooms in the main inn rather than pay extra for the Fairlawn unless we hear that some upgrades and maintenance have happened.

Standout visit to The Wentworth. Stayed in the king bedroom- it was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hospitality from the staff was top-notch. Still thinking about how wonderful our visit there was!

Small, noisy room, claimed they upgraded us and then put us in a hot room right above the boiler. Terrible beds. Room was right outside of a snack lounge so people are making noise at all hours.

Stopped in for breakfast. Very disappointing. Service very slow, meal took a while to come out. Maybe another case of being shorthanded.I ordered corned beef hash and it came out as a burnt 3" x 3" square. The waiter did ask me how everything was when I was almost done and I explained about the burnt hash which I couldn't eat and he did bring me another square.Won't be dining there anytime soon.

Our decision to split our stay between The Wentworth Hotel and The Inn at Thornhill turned out to be a stroke of genius, and The Wentworth left us utterly captivated, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating! From the moment we stepped into the extraordinary lobby, we knew we were in for something special. The attention to detail and the little extras provided by The Wentworth truly set it apart. The beds were not just comfortable but went above and beyond, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The complimentary high-quality bottled water, along with the 24/7 snack offerings, including juices, teas, coffee, water, sodas, and even homemade ice cream, added an extra layer of comfort and luxury. The thoughtful touches throughout our stay made us feel not just welcome but genuinely valued. While we anticipated the Inn at Thornhill to be a step up, The Wentworth surpassed our expectations, becoming our favorite hotel of the two. The Wentworth Hotel provided a 5-star wow experience, leaving us eager to return and relish the exceptional hospitality once again.

We went to celebrate our 30th anniversary and decided we wanted no worries so we got the dinner and breakfast plan included. They went above and beyond, the food was amazing the portions were abundant. We could not have been happier with the room or the ambience a complete 10 out of 10. The spa service were first rate. We will be back!Rooms: The rooms were clean crisp older style but not old in appearance. The soaker tub was beautiful and relaxingFood & drinks: The dinners were delicious and filling and served with an old world charm or five star restaurant.

I've been staying at Wentworth for 10 years and always had an amazing experience. I loved the old charm of the Inn. It was my favorite place. This visit wasn't so great this time. It looks like the new owners remodeled. It's nice, but it lost its charm. The service was average, and the food was horrible. Not even edible. We went with another couple and we didn't eat anything we ordered on our 3-4 course meal. I would suggest that you go to a different location for the meala. It's not worth the money we spent. I don't think we will be back anytime soon, which is sad because I wanted this as my wedding venue.Rooms: Rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfortable.Food & drinks: The food was horrible.

We’ve been staying at The Wentworth for about 20 years now & this past December wasn’t the best especially for the cost…first.. there was a large wedding that took over the Inn… wish we would’ve been told this beforehand…the parking was ridiculous, our room was right in the middle of the wedding party which was quite loud.. great for them.. not relaxing for us…no lounge for 2 nights as the wedding took over.. very frustrating… Our usual Thorneycroft room.. beds great, top notch linens. Hot tub jets needed help as most didn’t work & tv in hot tub room did not work.. I guess no more heated floors… and the surround sound speakers are no longer hooked up.. staff & check in were all wonderful as usual.. I did mention all these issues upon check out & they were apologetic and woukd look into
